So I had this issue with my 12 dodge charger. Started with “speed sensor”issues. Replaced the ones that were supposed to be bad. Issue still present. After this the brake light stayed on at times the car wouldn’t go into gear or start at due to car being push to start. Ordered pre owned abs module installed it. Got 2206 code vin mismatch abs,Tc, check engine light all on still. Got the launch and followed these steps in the video and within minutes my issues all were resolved. The new updated launch is Amazing and will save you a ton of money! Great video and thanks a lot. Dealer told me 500 to program the new ABS module. Got this launch and it’s done.
Nice!!!!!!!!!
Same story as yours on My Sister's Jeep compass 2012 only 81 kilometers, front right ABS sensor failed, got it replaced, then lights didn't go off after a few trips right rear sensor code popped up then replaced and at the end ABS module still gives C2200, all ABS initialization done but module seems to be faulty, after reading online all those eventually fail due to issues in the circuit board, I'm planning to open the old one to see if there are cracks in the board so if the replacement fails again then I will have a spare one. This jeep compass has been nothing but small issues (3 throttle bodies, one AC actuator, radiator cap and T fitting for hoses,), dash always is like a Christmas tree, I'm 100% sure that when is all fixed will only last 3 months before it breaks again, so I will stay away of any Stellantis products in the future and recommend my sister to sell that car once is all fixed.
Hey buddy. Just wanted to thank you sooooo much! I followed your directions and bought the Launch. Feels great to do things myself and save money. The only challenge I had was figuring out how to release the tabs to pull up on the connector. Watched another youtube for that. This has been driving me crazy for a year and I finally fixed it with your help! Thanks again!!!
Yeah, that connector is pain in the butt, if I was using one of my better cameras I would have touched on it , but, I was in a hurry and just used the action camera . Thanks for the great comment !
How did you know you needed to replace the module? I took my jeep to electric “expert” and he told me I had an ABS module from a 2013 on my 2010 jeep wrangler. However we didn’t have an ABS light on but we did have an ESP/BAS light, traction control and the weird thing was the brake lights stayed on with key on and with the jeep running. Hoping the dude doesn’t tell me I need a new module and then need to program it. Might cost you to $800
@@bowtiebuilding how much you want for the 2013 module?
What year is your jeep?
THANK YOU!This was the fix for my 2012.I purchased the touch screen Launch X431 CRP EBT Elite it worked Perfectly.I had two mechanics tell me the dealer had to flash it.This tool worked seamlessly.I can't say my jeep is a POS It has 165k and my wife's has 200k still going places most vehicles can't.
@Donny The Late Model Tech. Wanted to give you a huge thank you for this video. I replaced the ABS Module (used/rebuilt) in my 2016 RAM 1500 and had to reprogram it. I bought a Launch X431 CRP919E Elite from Amazon and followed your steps. Saved me $$$ and time. Thank you sir!
Glad it worked!
$130/shop time vs $465 for this to program? I get you have the device after, but it didn’t save you money. The video and installing yourself sure will. His video was on point.
Would the X431 work to reprogram the ABS module on a 2009 Ram 1500
Great simple tutorial for beginners. saved me a bunch and was very clear to learn.
What feature does your scanner have to have to reprogram the vin for the abs module
Thanks for your help with the video. I have a 2016 JK and had to replace the pump as well because the electrical unit is currently indefinitely unavailable through Mopar. When I installed the Full ABS unit the traction control light remained on ams the cruise was disabled. I bought the Launch unit (keep in mind that Launch USA does not take questions on nor service models bought on Amazon or Ebay) similar to yours and after running the initialization program the traction control light went off and the cruise works. I also bought the used module with my VIN pre-programmed. The scan tool at first recognized the used VIN and would not re-write the new VIN, but when I ran the initialization my VIN magically appeared on the updated ABS unit. Still have to bleed the unit as my brakes are softer but good for the moment.
Really appreciate the comment on this issue. Lots of people asking about used - vins - and really had no answers. Most appreciated. Friendly reminder to use that scanner to bleed the brakes to get it done 100%.
Trying to replace the module on my 14' Wrangler, and i can not find it anywhere because it's discontinued. Where did you purchase yours from? Or do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks for this, what model number is the scanner?
Can you use a used module? If so do you need the vin to the donor?
It does work, I just did it. Don’t need anything other than the tool to program it
So I have a 2015 renegade, bought a used abs module, but it won’t let me clear the donor vin and record mine. Do you have any idea of how to make it work?
@@NorteAbroad i don't remember, I'm pretty sure I did exactly what the guy in the the video did but I also remember that a new code appeared regarding the inconsistencies of Vin number with the module so I would press on that code and check if there is any function/action to do. let me know if that works, I don't have the code reader with me rn to check exactly how to do it but I can check tomorrow
@@francofornero580much appreciated. What’s the model of the launch you used?
@@NorteAbroad Launch x431 CRP919E elite
Hey I got a 2010 Jeep wrangler unlimited Sahara. I checked online to see if the part number will be the correct fit for my jeep but different online mopar sites say it doesn’t fit. I’ve been looking for a year trying to find the right part so I don’t mess up my jeep and waste money. I just want to know if it fits and works fine for your ‘08, you think it will do the same for my ‘10?
Did you try just reprogramming in old module to see if that works?
Thanks buddy! Replacing one tomorrow on a 2015 jeep, hoping the used ethos scanner I bought will work. If not I’ll buy this scanner through your page.
Good luck 👍
Welp parts just informed me the ABS module is on restriction till mid July 🤦♂️. On to the next one lol.
yeah i love this video u teatch me alote thank you for ur time
Excellent video 👊🏻👍🏻 Iam sure mine will go out eventually
Fyi, 07-11 abs module are a little hard to find.
@@Donnythelatemodeltech great that’s what mine is 😳 so far so good 🫰🏻
Had to drive an hour and a half away to find my exact module I returned, installed it , found out it had to be initialized. Can't believe you just dropped this video. Gave me all the info I need to finish this job . Thank you bro! Awesome job saving people time and $
@@daze1780 no problem! Let me know if you have any questions.
Is this for a brand new replacement? I can't find new but I can see used ones. Can you reprogram a used one?
Did you the leave the scanner plugged in while you were driving around? My BRAKE light comes on intermittently, so this will need to be done soon for me. And can I use the LAUNCH to program a instrument gauge cluster?
Check the level of you brake fluid?
Great video, did you have a VIN discrepancy before or during the initialization? I am currently getting that IDK..
No issues at all , everything in the video is exactly how it went down
Just a heads up, there are a couple different modules for the different years, make sure you have the correct part.
I have a 2012 jk but bought a 2018 abs guess it won’t work even with a scanner like your s
I've never tried to program a newer abs module on a older jeep.... Let us know if it works.@@richarddiaz8248
Can i get the scanner Name my jeep have same proble 😢
I used the link and bought the exact same launch unit and all my options are different. Doesn't say 16 pin connector, no where does it have special features. Are there updates i need to pay for?
I have Autel bidirectional scanner that I need to do this on, thanks, part looks easy to swap.
Did u download the software or was it already on it.(Scanner)
The scanner will update through your WiFi. It will have everything you need done for you.
Any Noticeable driving symptoms with this code ?
Like what? Your abs won’t work.
Hello morning!! Could you get me the ABS module software for the 2011 Jeep Patriot?
What is the model of the scanner
Can someone answer this question: If I have a lift on my Jeep with 35s do I have to reprogram/remap the vehicle?
How you get to 16 pin connection??
i have a shop, all my customers with Wrangler had to replaced that ABS module, what horrible cars, and people still are buying that piece of junk . 4runner for ever!!!!
Bro so funny, I have a 2015 wrangler which brought me to this video, and my main vehicle is an 06 4Runner. Best vehicle ever.
@@joshb7677 2010 toyota sequoia with 268k miles. how many abs module ? zero, starter motor 1, alternator 1, air pump 1,
I blame all new vehicles from 05+ all pieces of shit, as for Jeep they should go independent and tell Chrysler to go to hell
Are you able to program keys ?
Can I put a used module instead of a new one?
Will this work with a used one , mine went out and could only get a used one
Where did you find used Module
@@FishOrDieTryinTV junkyard but I ended up getting a electric repair store to redo it, and that fixed everything
That scanner is on sale right now. $107. Amazon. Thanks for video.
😢
Ah, probably not.
3month back order for this now. 2018JLU. They must all be shitting the bed. No recall is crazy.
can you program all of the modules if anymore become an issue?
It won’t program a pcm - only a dealer tool.
A question? I can program the ABS module with Launch x431.
👍
Any other scanners available with that option? What should I look for?
Donny, which model of the Launch scanner are you using?
Info and link in the description. Let me know if you have any questions
Just checking to see if the lights stayed off? My dealer wants $1400 to do this repair including the module. I'm thinking I'll try this if it's been successful.
Yes , no light.
My dealer said $1600 plus the 338.55 part which won't be available until mid April. Dealer rip off!
I replaced my module and I did the procedure. it says it was success but still shows the code with symptoms. I never cleared the old vin from the new module. Is that something that needs to be done in order for it to properly work?
The new module is used?
Launch hit me up to do a sponsor video for them but they wanted me to buy it first. While i may have a use for one the cost made me say, maybe some other time. I didn't really like that it only worked on some cars. Maybe my channel will have to rethink the option.
How much does it cost for a new one?
you cant reprogram vin number uinless its a new ecm,,,,
Part on backorder for eternity 😢
My 2014 dodge avenger is making me want to eat a bullet, this is so frustrating.
$465 for that seems high. Esp with the reviews it has.
