I bought mine with a breather hose attached to the oil filler cap and i guess i know now why as the other mechanic told me to redo the whole engine bcoz rings are f***cked up and I guess he was just lazy to check which of them or what exactly was the problematic one. What is the fix to it?
hello sir..if you pull that pipe off and see if white smoke comes out when the engine is up to temperature, no smoke should come out. if it does then you have blow by.possibly worn rings or liner failure..you could leave the pipe off and i bet the bike runs a lot better. but it will need fixing at some point or it will get worse.
Yep that was it, it also did a big end which was the reason for pulling it apart, gearbox dogs on 2nd and shift forks stuffed, crank scored to buggery... engine was a lost cause
Does it ever die wen crankcase breather is hooked up to the airbox? I'm having some issues with my 01 R1 aswell.

Do you know why it's doing this? I have one doing the same thing ☹️
It was the liner in #1 that was cracked where it meets #2. Nikasil plated aluminimum so it would be a strip, weld and replate job. Not cheap.
did u ever get this fixed?
Motor spun a rod bearing, sold the bike, bought it back recently with a good running motor
was it the rings?
It is usually the nikasil plating wear/damage and the rings also!
Cracked liner on #1
Crankcase breather mod.

Liners cracked becoming common on the early r6.

How do you fix that? My bike does the same thing
@@LinkinMcOwnage how you fix that, where are the liners?
@@chuy9631 liners are in the cylinder bore. nickil plating wears away causing the cyclinder to chip/crack .causing blow by.. hope that helps
@@NHEFF09 Is it fixable or its game over?
