  • HEY FOLKS!
We are back at it responding to your comments and questions via this monthly video series. I love reading and responding to your comments and as you can tell I'll jump into the comments section with a reply or a heart quite often. If one of the questions I answered was not detailed enough or you want more info on the subject please let me know so that I can make a dedicated video giving you all of the info!
A couple favorite questions/comments from this video are
    1) What Happens I get struck by lighting
    2) Should Doctors treat relatives or friends?
    3) What are some Apple Cider Health Benefits?
    4) What does it mean to be underweight?
    5) Should I start a podcast?
    6) What do doctors dream about"?
    7) What is the Science behind being lactose intolerant
    8) How do I talk to my doctor about my anxiety/depression?
    9) How often to shower if you have eczema?
Doctors are traditionally unreachable and I want to change that. So hop into this video’s and any other of my video’s comment section and ask dr mike! I want to see your username pop up on my next responding to comments video.
If you have an idea of something you want me to cover in depth, please let me know because I take your requests seriously. We will be back with more Medical Drama Review Series in a couple of weeks so please submit more names of shows/episodes you'd like for me to watch. Love you all!

When I went to my doctor about my depression and anxiety I wrote everything down before I went. When she asked what was wrong I stated crying and handed her my notebook. She read it, told me it was very helpful, and then asked questions from there. Just an idea :)

I have bad social anxiety and when talking to anyone including my doctor I shut down and my mind blanks so I always forget what I need to ask her and what I need to talk to her about, so I always down a list of what I need to talk to her about so I don't forget. Also I hate when its quiet. And it's often quiet in a doctors exam room so I play music on my phone. Just on low so it's not completely quiet while she's typing on her computer or while I'm waiting. If your doctor is a good doctor and a good person, they will be understanding of what will make you more comfortable and they will work with you to help you.

For those who struggle to tell their doctor about their depression or anxiety: try writing things down. Write the dark thoughts and feelings down when you feel them. You can even write it as if you’re writing a letter to someone. Then let your doctor read it. It helped me soo much to be honest and open

Electrician here: getting struck by lightning entirely depends on whether or not you're wet when you get struck. If your skin/clothes are soaked to the bone, the majority of the current runs through the water on your skin.
If you're dry as a bone, the current runs through your veins/arteries instead, burning them to a crisp. Your organs starve to death and you die from lack of bloodflow (unless the shock goes through your heart, where you just die outright as the heart burns up).

I'm glad Dr. Mike brings this up. Ever since I told my doctor about my mental health, I started feeling extremely uncomfortable when her or my nurse is in the room because it makes me feel like I did something wrong. If I didn't tell my mother about my suicidal thoughts and my almost attempts, then I would have never gotten help and would not be here today. She's the one who brought up mental health with my doctor. I still feel anxious and guilty going to a checkup though.

Wow that story from when you were 4 in Russia really brought back memories. I had something very similar happen to me in Russia at day care. We were laying down for nap time, and my friend and I were fooling around, in the process I was trying to toss him this metal plate like a frisbee, and this girl sat up in bed right as I threw it and intercepted it with her head. Crying ensued, and the teacher to punish me made me strip down and walk naked across the entire room of kids, on my way to the principles office...I was like 5ish at the time. That memory really stuck with me as well...that bench outside her office was cold as hell.

One of my most severely brain injury rehab patients was a 10 year old struck by lightning during a soccer game. He was paraplegic with spastic paralysis, severe myoclonus, ocular motility at less than age 6 (according to testing but observationally about age 2). It all depends on where the bolt hits and travels in the body. For him it was the spinal cord. Super sweet kid. ❤ Then like you said, sometimes it's just a relatively mild event and/or without long-lasting effects.

@Nicolas Broszky Its usually socialy accepted to touch certain body parts of woman/men but not the other parts. Idk if its a genuine question for u...but arms/hands/shoulders are usually acceptable to touch for both genders, they arnt realy considered "sexual body parts" or whatever. Not saying it CANT be sexual. But generally speaking, those body parts are not considered strictly sexual.

I used to be EXTREMELY lactose intolerant and used Lactade for any dairy consumption. I started eating various European cheeses and also some yoghurt and now I can eat anything (even ice cream) with no reaction. Not sure what caused the improvement, but I relate it to eating the various European cheese.

    • @ChirpyViolet

Probably because you ate natural aged cheese. If you're American, the cheese sources here are very bad.

With the your doctor being a family member or friend I think its great to have another eye. The only situation id recommend having someone you know as your doctor is an OGBYN or in general your doctor who will deliver your baby. You, your partner, and your child will always have a special bond with them.
