I much prefer this WK2 generation than the new one, this looks way more aggressive and sporty
It actually aged pretty well for all these years
The new front end is UGLY
It is probably one of the best SUVs on the market right now, for a number of reasons. It is perfectly sized for a couple or small family. It has been out for a number of years, therefore many of the kinks of been resolved. Let's not forget about its 4WD capabilities, plus it actually has decent tech, despite its age.
It is still a handsome SUV, IMO.
The exterior of this one is so much better looking than the new one imo. Muscular and sporty at the same time
This is by far the best looking body style of any suv currently in production
I have a 2018 GC Limited and love it. The WK may be 11 years old but is much better looking than the new body style WL. Jeep definitely went backwards in its new design.
To me…the WK is STILL the Gold Standard for Grand Cherokee. I better get one before they are all gone.
I have a 2018 Grand Cherokee altitude in black and it’s honestly one of the best vehicles I’ve ever owned. I love it.
And I have owned one car in total
Just bought one. Black on black 💪🏻💪🏻
Having just recently acquired a 2022 JGC WK Limited, I love it so much! I'm all for the old body style. The new body style is so monotonous.
Are you still happy with your purchase?
I like this front grille design better than the new one
We test drove the new GrNd Cherokee and it had very little leg room inside. In fact, the entire inside felt small for such a big car. We then test drove the WK Limited and loved it. That’s what we ended up getting. It’s comfortable, lots of toys, and a lot of power.
My brother has a 2017 grand Cherokee and I have a 2014 explorer and this generation of the grand Cherokee is one of the best suvs out there. The new one I’m honestly not a fan of the new one but the WK will always be one of the best you can get out there. Perfect size, great looking, and just a solid vehicle in pretty much every aspect.
Just leased my 3rd one. Terrific rides and now this design 2022 is perfect for a Family of 3 + dog. Drove through blizzards on the Highways, Hills, dirt and this car handlers very well.
I just bought the exact same car in white 4 wks ago and I love it. I also own a green 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I bought back in 2012 so I’m a jeep guy and I chose this body style over the new one as the dealership I was at had both on the lot…great SUV’s
I just bought this exact color/etc and LOVE IT! One of my favorite things is that the back seats recline.
I just bought this 2022 model, and I love it!
I just bought a 2021 Laredo X used with 5,000 miles and dumped my 5.7 Hemi Ram. Gas is going up and Jeep's are timeless.
How does backseat legroom compare on the old vs new Grand Cherokee? I know the new 2022 model is longer, but did any of that go to the back seat? (Without the 3rd row seats)
I love the WK body but love the interior of the new one. I would buy the WK
We've two my wife liked mine so much she wanted a red one just like it '13s 4x4 V-8s. ten yrs. now
I have a 2006 Limited with Hemi and QD2. I put an Old Man Emu lift on it and just replaced the Hemi with a new one and had it tuned. It's immaculate. I'll keep it for years.
Mr. Hardy which would be your choice ( and why) between GV70 2.5T, awd no packages and Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, no packages?
I've had a good run with my 2015 Grand Cherokee Hemi. Trading it for the 392 Rubicon. It is a very comfortable, plenty of room. It has been fairly reliable. I cross shopped it against the x5, Discovery, and Benz. I felt it was a good value for the money.
I don't care for the new redesign.
The auto body style is perfect Jeep needs to continue making that body style. It works it looks great it's comfortable it's functional. This is our 7th Jeep and we have the WK Overland Summit. It's one of the best Jeeps we've ever had. If cheap discontinues his body style I don't know where we're going to go from here.
Does it have passenger shades for the windows?
Old body style is so much better.
As a owner of new body style GC I wish I can go back to September and get back my old 2021 …..feels more clunky and chunky which I like from my Jeep’s.
I just put a deposit on one of these today (pretty much exactly like it except mine is black) and I'm getting it Thursday, it's actually my 2nd Grand Cherokee, I had a 4th generation and 4 of the 5 vehicles I've owned have been Jeeps, the price has gone up a little but from what they were but I had to get another car so I got one that I know is a great vehicle I don't mind paying a little extra for a reliable vehicle, can't wait to get it I love me some Jeeps
I have a 2022 black on black GC Limited 4X4. Bought it in March. I LOVE IT! Her name is Pearl and she is perfect in everyway. Had been looking at the new body style and never did like it and that had stopped me from buying a 2022 GC. Pearl is everything I wanted. The front of the new style looks it someone set on the hood and bent the front grill out to me.
Ben Hardy
The WK still has that classic look of past Grand Cherokees. While the WL has confusing design language like the WK and WL had an illegitimate baby. The front fascia of WL doesn’t work with the rest of the WK body. It looks great on the Grand Wagoneer but not on the GC. I highly doubt that you will respond to my comments.
I love these things. I do think the new ones look better in person though. I saw one recently at the dealership and thought that thing would look AMAZING with a small lift and 33 inch ATs
The new ones aren’t nearly as sporty looking as the previous generation WK2.
Just purchased a 2021 JGC- NO REGRETS! The 2022 seems oddly huge for no real reason at all. I prefer the sporty look of the old body style.
It's nearly three inches longer amd two inches taller w. no tumble home so it's far more boxy, w. slab sides, it rides good though. at least the L i rode in.
these are like the Ram Warlock...just using off the last parts from the exiting version Grand Cherokee parts bin!
I have one of these, it is my 5th Jeep Grand Cherokee. Have had it 3 months and no problems,,,,,so far anyway.
Do it worth getting this Vehicle?
Had a ‘11 Laredo AWD (new body style), absolutely loved it. Drove it for five years, then the wife drove it for another five years. Other than a transfer case gasket, it was reliable. We traded for a Pacifica so our older GSD could get in and out. Fast forward, special ordered a ‘17 Trail rated Overland 5.7. Have had a multitude of problems. A/C, thermostat, EVAP hose, multiple air suspension problems. Big bucks for the air suspension! Love the Hemi but may just trade for a WK. Or maybe not. The service at two different dealerships was the worst I’ve ever experienced. A dent in the quarter panel at one dealer, though they owned up and repaired it, and the other,OMG, grease all over both exterior and interior and broken plastic parts and clips. Hell, I may just get a Lexus GS 460 next time, just for the dealer experience. Awesome, comfortable SUV, but buyer beware!
Just sold mine. 2020 upland. Bought it in 10/19 and sold ot last week for nearly as much as I paid for it 2.5 years ago with 36,000 miles on ut
I wish I can find a limited X in that body. Really don’t like the new ones.
Might be able to find a lease return on a 2020 if you didn't mind slightly used.
I'm getting a Laredo X this week and it's just as nice as the limited imo so take a look at the Laredo X you'll probably like it
I have a 2015 Altitude edition, and it's the 1st vehicle (including other Grand Cherokees I've had) that I'm still in love with after 7 years. The only thing I wish I had was the newer flush 8.4 inch screen which makes the interior look more updated.
The WL is not my cup of tea. It's not that it looks bad, and I'm sure they'll sell a ton of them, but for me the slab sides are a turn off. It's lost its muscularity and looks too much like every other SUV. The WK2 viewed from the side had a sporty, in motion, hunkered down look and the rake of the grill/windshield/lift gate glass added to that. The new one has a more feminine look. Obviously the WK2 rides on a very old platform, but it was a damn good platform to begin with and my 7 year old Jeep still feels as solid as when I bought it and it's a touch faster to 60 than the new one. Before I bought it, the body style made me drool and lust after it. I had to have it. The new one does not do the same for me. I wish it did. While the new interior looks amazing, all the piano black will be a nightmare to keep clean from fingerprints and dust. Anyone who's had to deal with it in the past knows that it's easy to scratch and needs care when cleaning.
Guess I'll keep mine until the next redesign. Hopefully Jeep won't wait another 10-12 years this time for a redesign.
I do not like the new style! I have a 2021 grand cherokee limited x, black out, 5.7 hemi, sport hood... Curious if you've driven or like the Ford Bronco vs this GC? Thanks!
The Bronco doesn’t compete directly with the Grand Cherokee. Jeep Wrangler does compete with it.
I got the new one 2022 Jeep grand Cherokee summit ridge
As a proud owner of a WK2 I can say I have no interest still in the WL. Perfect for the family and dog.
New ones are ugly too squared off for my taste this is sporty , fun t I drive
people have been saying new vehicles are square shaped and look like a box ever since the '80's, and nothing is as fun to drive as a manual transmission and the ability to take the top/roof off... we are talking Jeep
I like it 👍.. Not old looking at all
What does the WK mean? I respect Stellantis for keeping the previous-gen styling for those who prefer it. My dream Jeep is definitely the GCL Summit Reserve...with a V8 & 2nd row capt. seats, of course, 😇.
Overland and summit are 2 different trims.
@@jordannicholas7689 Thank You, now I've made the appropriate correction.
I will change my bronco sport that im still paying for it for this awesome truck.
I'd like to see the leg room with the front seat all the way back.
They should have kept the dual exhaust like they had on the 2015 altitude GC. Otherwise I'd take this interior with the new GC interior.
Monocoque Body with Built-in Ladder Frame
They say that superior off-road handling capability could only come at the expense of on-road smoothness. They have obviously never driven Grand Cherokee . By incorporating a lightweight and highly rigid monocoque body with a built-in ladder frame that provides added resistance to torsion and flexing and fixing them atop a dynamic independent suspension, Grand Cherokee achieves an unprecedented combination of all-terrain control and luxury-sedan comfort. For added durability, grand cherokee now makes more extensive use of galvanized steel body panels, while the new aluminum hood panel reduces weight for better handling.
Do you know what grade fuel it uses?
It uses 87
American made and naturally aspirated means you don’t need any kind of fancy fuel 👍
They look really really nice but the inside is dated beyond belief. The new one is a great change. I’m currently waiting to take delivery on one. 😬 But I think a lot of people would be happy with this body style and the new interior.
Jeep should secretly make the Hellcat and accompanying trackhawk drivetrain available as an option without all the flashy advertising (as in not specify it as a trim level but more so a performance package and then sell it as a normal 2022 JHC WK 4X4; a last hurrah for the model). Man what a kick ass decision that would be. One can dream lol
It would be a hell of a sleeper, nobody expects a GC to blow them off the road
I prefer this one bc the other looks like a mini wagoneer and I don’t like it
This is basically just like the High Altitude trim, but better priced
The high attitude is an overland with the Altitude package so it is fancier and comes standard with more features than the regular altitude. The altitude is based off the Laredo that’s why it’s much cheaper.
This generation wk2 on a solid frame new wl already no frame((( no durable((
Are they getting rid of this body style?
Yes, production on the 22 wk has already ended. Whatever inventory your local dealers have is it.
48k with no air suspension? I think jeep wants to kill off this legendary body style NY overpricing it against the current new one.
Did you say 48 k😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 You should definitely keep that one
Apple CarPlay?
Yes
Prefer the new model! Went for the 22 GC Summit Reserve & so far have no regrets!! Full of technology & comfort
how's it holding up?
can anyone tell me whats the msrp of this vehicle? just give me a ballpark ..
The altitudes are priced anywhere between 45-52. The one shown in the video is 48.
@@jordannicholas7689 Thank you!
I don’t like the new exterior design but I do like the new interior design .
It don’t have automatic light you kidding me what is this 2006
I don't think you can dealer order a WK any longer.
Production on the 22 wk ended a few weeks ago and I don’t think there was ever an option to order one.
@@jordannicholas7689 Yep. I may just have to build out a JGC Trailhawk now. If I didn't get the employee discount I wouldn't even get one. Probably a three year lease.
I love the Trailhawk. What year do you have? How much is the employee discount if you don’t mind sharing?
@@jordannicholas7689 We currently have the smaller Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 2020. I get about 9% below MSRP + current incentives.
Nice! So you are looking at the new body style Trailhawk? I haven’t seen any of those at dealerships yet. Just the Limited, Overland, and Summit. Good luck with it.
It looks girly I needed a more masculine look I went for the L altitude best decision I have ever made 😍
This is 2021 model not 2022
It’s a ‘22, Jeep probably can’t build the new body styles due to lack of parts… so they rebadged the ‘21 as ‘22WK and they’re offering alongside the new bodystyle
Im just here to figure out why anyone would go this old style over the new cherokee
Sportier with a much more aggressive front design that stands out. The updated exterior looks like something my 75 year neighbor would like.
@@JESSEXTO that is true..now that ive checked them out earlier this week. The new body style is much more boxy and looks like a real deal family suv lol the old style def looks more “badass”
SLOW DOWN sigh , decent video but could barely see anything because you were showing things too fast lmao !
💪⬛👍
Make the video longer and talk slower... a lot of ford guys here
I like both the WK and the new WL Grand Cherokees. The new design definitely looks a little more modern, especially from the rear. The interiot, however, is so much nicer on the new ones. They definitely stepped up their game for the WL interior.
The new l surpasses in quality and driving dynamics nice reveiw
