Sounded great in '86 in my car with six speakers that could isolate the singing of each part, especially "hey hey hey kid" in Cut Above The Rest.

I can't get enough of them, all there songs make me feel good, as a camera man back in the 80's I had worked with them on the song Venus loved them then and still do.
What a fantastic job to do. I loved 80s music videos in the 80s even though I was only 6 years old in 1985. Top of the Pops was the highlight of the week.

I think Bananarama(the original trio line) looked there at their best, so fresh and summery, I mean after all these Tom boy looks of their very first video clips...And I love Sarah's hair and style, and Sarah was my biggest crush. Too bad, that they do not like this song, they never perform it, I really think they have even forgotten that they once recorded it
Because they were not involved in the creative process that song and were irritated that it was added to True Confessions against their wishes. Plus, they didn’t think it was good enough and unlike the other songs, it didn’t carry a social message that they were trying to deliver. It was just something that sounded like it came prefabricated from a musical hit factory, the same thing that the girls would grow to dislike about Stock, Aitken & Waterman.

I don't know why but this has always been one of my favourite rams records despite the girls saying they hate it ,and the video is so good, the girls look gorgeous and look like they are having fun

I could not agree more on this, for me this remains one of the best Banana's singles ever. I think one of the reasons, Bananarama has never liked this song, it is because they have not co written it, this was an only Swain and Jolley track without the involvement of the girls. So they were pretty reluctant to promote it.
It's a fantastic pop song and should have been a bigger Hit in the UK. It's much better than Hotline To Heaven or More Than Physical

This is not a high profile song amongst Bananarama's hit list-almost forgotten by the world, but I like it more than many of their bigger hits, much like "Love Comes Quickly" of the PSB's......
This one must have passed me by as I have no recollection of it at all though it broke into the bottom end of the Top 40. I certainly remember Love Comes Quickly by the Pet Shop Boys,though. It was the follow-up single to number 1 breakthrough hit West End Girls,and a Top 20 hit in the spring of 1986.

It's a pity that Bananarama don't like this song and never perform it live, because I love it! I keep coming back to it! In fact, I remember buying the 7'' picture disc with Keren on it, then I bought the proper 7'' single. I couldn't really play the picture disc, because Keren's legs on the picture disc kept knocking the needle off my record player. :-)
They weren’t involved in the songwriting process and were irritated when it was added to the album against their wishes. It hastened the end of their relationship with Jolley & Swain. The girls really, really don’t like it when songwriters give them an already written tune without their creative input. When Stock, Aitken & Waterman tried to do that to Keren and Sara after they came back from the Bananarama 1989 world tour, it led to the girls kicking SAW to the curb in favour of new producers and songwriters. Keren had been the biggest fan in Bananarama of SAW and their uptempo music, but being frozen out of the songwriting process really alienated her from them.
@@thomashong2938 True. They didn't write the song and Keren later said they felt it wasn't very good. Still, it was a top 40 hit for them despite their disliking it. I for one happen to love it to this day, although I admit the lyrics are a bit weird.

Such an underrated song
Sara is often passed over in favor of Keren (the hot one) and Siobhan (the star) but she's often my favorite and good lord she looks amazing here

I find Sara the most attractive by a long, long way.
I always thought of Sara as the hot one. She usually sang in the middle. I never thought of Bananarama as having a single star or hot one which is one of the reasons I liked them so much.
Sara passed over? lol she's almost always in the middle and at the center in their videos, performances and photos.

So many of their tracks were great but, overall, I prefer the earlier Swain and Jolley output compared to the SAW era... Despite what Bananarama thought about Do Not Disturb, it’s my joint favourite along with Rough Justice.

True Confessions is a fantastic album. Last of the Jolley/Swain influence in favor of the Stock/Aiken/Waterman production. Wish they would have stuck with Jolley/Swain.
Putting Do Not Disturb on the album against their wishes hastened the end of the relationship with Jolley and Swain. Unlike all the other songs on the LP, it lacked creative input from the girls and didn’t carry any kind of social message. And it was the same kind of prefabricated music factory song that Siobhan would later hate about Stock, Aitken & Waterman.

It's been said they hated the song wish I knew why, as most people love the melody and dark undertones the song has.
in fact it happens to be, one of those songs i come searching for again,at times..... not one of their top selling songs, but it has something deeper n interesting to it (the video is quite kitschy but Sibhan looks beautiful here)
Siobhan said it was the song that started them down the road as a manufactured pop group and that is when cracks started in the group.
I think it is because it must be the only Bananarama single(apart from their covers of course) which they have not written or even co written. It was given to them by their producers back then, Jolley and Swain, and they almost made them issue this single. Personally, I find it one of their best singles
A bit like Duran Duran apparently hating My Own Way despite it being a fantastic song according to many of their fans. Also Depeche Mode refusing to perform People Are People since 1988 (4 years after it was released).
@@cdc0427 I love trick of the night, it has always been one of my best Nana tracks. By the way, I had never took notice that A trick of the night was written only by Jolley and Swain. But I love Do not disturb too, I do not compare these two tracks, because they have a totally different mood. But I still remember that do not disturb was an only Swain/Jolley single, which London records made Bananarama to issue, just to keep them in business, because it took them a long time to release anything until Venus...and they promoted it very poorly back then...maybe that is why they do not like it? I do not know, I only guess so...but as you see, many fans of Bananarama, not only me, are very fond of Do not disturb
