As a kid through puberty and into adulthood, at every stage I always found the synth sounds of this song sexier than the words and vocals. :P
OMG I've been working on this song for about a year and Dr.Mix does it in 11 minutes.
I'm sure it took him about 40 years to do it in 11 minutes.
@@lagtvfan2128 the wisest comment I’ve read today!
Actually they were about 7 minutes and a half.. but yeah, it had been a long way to have the skills to do it in such a short time. 😅
@@stupidocanerosa
Doctor Mix masters his art of decoding songs and sounds... and play them on the spot.
There are also clearly some edits and he probably did a bit of “homework” ahead of time before going in blind. But yeah, it’s taken him decades to be able to do this fast and accurate.
One of the sickest bass lines ever. Didn't give it the attention it deserves until recently
It really is the greatest synth bass line ever recorded imho
Nile Rodgers from Chic produced Madonna.
@@abikalejaiye2376Him and Mirwais did a ton of work with Madame X.
When I see Detroit artists I've watched become legends for many years, represented in the way they are, as founders, and pillars of the community...I cry a little with joy. It's OUR MOTOWN BABY! I was there for it. I partied at 1515 Broadway, and all over, with Kevin, and Madonna lived up the street from me as a young lady, and went to Rochester Schools, just like me, only a few years before I was in high school. I have a bunch of life-long friends who went to Adams. A bunch of us, helped throw techno parties around the D, as young twenty-somethings in the early 90's. Good work all! ❤
Thank you for sharing.
Madonna's Into The Groove is one of the greatest dance songs of all time! The original version stands alone and incomparable compared to the later remixes. And this was before all of those crazy techno and computer beats.
The intro instantly grabs you without any needed slow buildups.
💯!
Yessir!
Agreed
It used dx7 sounds from
the bass to the synth bell and a Roland drum machine. And probably Roland pads.
This is my fav Madonna song
Mine too!!!
The reason your videos are great is not just because of the very high technical information you provide but also because you really enjoy what you are doing, thank you so much.!
One song I would love you to reconstruct is Prince's When the doves cry.
Ibiza 1989 from memory - Good Life - one of the greatest ever synth grooves.
I need more Madonna deconstructions by Doctor Mix. If he made "Into The Groove" in just 11 mins, I would like to see a "Sorry" deconstruction, "Hung Up" or even "Music Inferno" that has a sample of "Disco Inferno" by The Trammps. And of course I really really love how the Doc rebuilds the masterpieces making them a bit of a refresh. Greetings from the north of Italy, Doc!
Another lovely video :) I was obsessed with this song after getting the UK 12" in 1985. It had the breakdown of Steve Bray's superb baseline somewhat isolated which enabled me to learn it from ear at the tender age of 12 . Tim Simenon apes a fair amount of the bassline sound / playing style for "Don't Make Me Wait' 3 years later.
Sadly we only had access to some early Yamaha DX's at school so had to wait a few years to get the right sounds. All about the layering in 80s pop. Layering and loads of production on everything. We regularly used 4 layers on bass sounds (2 analog 2 digital for fatness and edge) and snare drums in those days . The original used the Roland Super Jupiter MKS-80 rack for bass. The main chords were Juno 106 doubled with Oberheim OB-8. Bell hook was DX-7. Drums were DMX (kick , hats and snare)and TR-727 (percussion)
It took me YEARS to find that 12". For the longest time I believed that it didn't exist, simply because I couldn't find it. I still have mine.
@@ScottsSynthStuff Yeah, we had a local rural Woolworths that was particularly good for UK chart 12"s. and obscure remix releases. We kept all our records safely in an old box at room temperature. I don't think that one has been played since 1985 :)
Is that UK version still around now for download? @@culttelevision
@@BillVincent I can't find any record of it anywhere online which is weird
Really the original analog synth that was used was the Roland MKS 80? Are you sure about that? Thanks for sharing your experience. Regards
Ok. This was the synth line that I’ve been waiting Dr. Mix to cover. One of the best synth bass lines from the 80s. I’ve used a Juno 60 for this myself. So many “meh” recreations on YT but Dr. Mix nailed it! ❤
Me Too!!! I absolutely love it.
It’s so amazing to see how easy some of these songs actually were. Awesome job Claudio! Love the channel!
Love your videos Claudio but this one is the best, love to see more 1980s recreations. Bring it on 🙂
Into the groove, un titre terriblement beau et bon, la Madonna au top du monde et une époque formidable ❤
I like it when Claudio is impressed with other youtubers.
Those two 80's challenges were indeed most impressive. Respect. 👍🏻🇬🇧😎
Beautiful! still holding my hopes for the Robert Miles - Children reconstruction
Xpectacular as usual. Into the Groove and Good Life are two of the most liked songs of all my life
You’re awesome, Doctor Mix!!! This is one of my favourite songs!
I remember playing this live ( Sequenced) back when it came out and we used the DX7 for Bass Line over the Roland Jupiter 8, Juno 106 or JX8P. 🤔
You're really clever with the iconic intro!
Great as always Dr.Mix!
Fantom is really great - i love the quick editing - Great Video Thank you so much Dr. Mix
It's an absolute must to listen to this with some great headphones, especially the clip from Younger at the beginning, it's amazing !! Well done again Claudio !! ❤
Spot on, that clip was insane.
Genius as always. THANK YOU Doctor Mix
Nice groove. Glad you reconstruct it! 😊
Love your keyboard, that’s one great piece of kit. Great remix of Into The Groove too. Great video, looking forward to your next one. ❤️❤️👍👍👍
Great reconstruction. So relaxed. 😊
SOOOO MUCH FUN and a classic Madonna track that I love. KEEP IT UP!

Doctor Mix! You are amazing! Love your videos!!!
10 minutes and a song :D Great!
Oh wow!! Great reconstruction❤.. this bass was one of my favourite in the '80👍💯 and damn, my Fantom is still in the box after moving house😭😭
Great work! One of my favourites back from '85.
Yasss! It’s such a great dance song. Still holds up.
Nice work, Fantom is hell of a machine. I wish i could spend more time in making music and try out more stuff. Allways a pleasure to watch these vids.
That opening shot was incredible! Perfect replication of that bassline 👏
Helllooooo Claudio!!! You are looking great, my friend!! Youngr is NO joke! I found his channel and FKJ through your channel. Watching your vids is a great way to get your foot tapping and motivated for the day. God bless !
Awesome!! Master, I enjoy your videos!! Keep the excellent work!!!
Toutes tes vidéos me donnent le sourire 😄 MERCI !
Man, I love your energy brotha. I'm not a producer, just a DJ as a a hobby. I really enjoyed watching this and looking forward to others. I just subd, thanks
Amazing machine. Amazing skills too.
Love these recreation vids
With this song I became a Madonna fan. You are genious. Greetings from Buenos Aires...!
Dr Mix you have excellent timing.rythum ...always great to watch your videos ,, Loved the two artist you show ,,both amazing ,
im glad you let the sounds of the 80s in 80 seconds get on to your channel ,definitely worth a watch ,love the madonna construction to , gets my vote 👌🏻
Fantastic! You really nailed the song!
Wonderful !
great video as always! the 1:30 solo reminded me of inner city's " Good Life"
Awesome. Probably my favorite Madonna song.
Great stuff. It's an amazing song. Doesn't get old.
Love the fun and enthusiasm
Love this song so much
i just found your channel, you're great, thanks for dissecting that sooo 80's song :) my childhood in keyboards
I used to do this when I was 14 years old, now I am 48 and wow this brings back so many memories. I would splice wires and record each track separately playing each track over the last...so cool!
Awesome. I gotta learn that bass part!
Youngr is just a god on the Fantom. Love everything he does! Claudio, the only thing I think I would have done differently is overlaid a hand clap on top of the snare - that hand clap sound is iconic in this song!
Great Stuff Dr Mix.
Very nice reconstruction and 80's music is a legend. the first example youngr reconstruction remembers Hithouse music style (house music).
This is the sort of video sponsorship I can get behind : Roland make great kit. Newbies with money might like it. Doctor Mix has the target audience. He works his magic using Roland's machine, and we love the video ! This is fantastic. And well done Younger and Uto-San : fantastic #80s80sChallenge results ! Those melody chords in "Good Life" were brilliant !
Brilliant, sir!
One of the MOST iconic bass line ever! (But I use my Moog Source babyyyyy) 🔝🔝🔝
I love the synth bass sound of the Moog Source synth in 80's pop music. ❤❤❤
Gosh I loved this!
as always - Great stuff man 🙂
Awesome love that 80's :)
Amazing as always! Waiting for your next video!
I've always wondered what analog machines William Orbit used to record Madonna's "Ray of Light" Album, it's my favorite and i never get tired of listening to it.
Amazing ...
Not at all a Madonna fan but I do love this song, and Angel.
You don't have to be a Madonna fan to enjoy her music
Me too
I bought the 12 inch Vinyl when it was released.
I own nearly all 12 inches from HOLIDAY - OPEN YOUR HEART !
Madonna from nowadays is a shame, unfortunately !
@@bertvennemann189yup sadly she lost her old ways
It’s good to be a Madonna fan.
Good Life .... takes me back, way back. Oh the memories. Would love to hear Big Fun too. :)
Excellent job ❤
You're crazy! Crazy talented Doctor 💙💛
I think Madonna used a Yamaha X7 for the synthesizer instead of the Roland Juno 6 for bassline. Perhaps a Roland 80 synthesizer for melody
BRUTAL!
6:35 "Vamos a la playa" intro ahhahaha I love you
This brought back fantastic memories of '85 here in Manchester, UK. The early Madonna sound is still wonderful, thanks for this.
Have you done 'Ashes to Ashes' by David Bowie?
Seeing your videos make me feel happy just like hearing to this song by Madonna
Best as usual!
Well done and very close. Thanks a lot.
I like your channel. Always positive, interesting and groovy🙂👍
Bravo maestro! 👏👏👏
That Good Life reconstruction was dope. Thank you for including it.
I want to learn to play the keyboard! Thank you Dr Mix!
So Nice! The original bass was made on the MKS80, live it was often played on a Moog the source.
How do you know? Would love a reference 👏👏👏 thanks :-)
The bass is the most important part of this song! It has to be right.
❤ yeah ...love the way you explain it... ❤
Great choice of song! Suggestion: I Feel for You, Chaka Khan version. Lots of great keyboard shots in that one!
Great video - really enjoyed it !
"Into The Groove" una de las mas potentes canciones de Madonna que revolucionar las pistas de baile en los 80´s. Entrabas a una disco, ponian la canción y la fiesta se armaba. Un sonido potente, un beat duro marcado, un bass Juno power que te llegaba al corazón. Los sintetizadores eran el corazón de la música. Increible ¡
Great work 👍👍👍
thx Claudio ! i love the bass :)
Sei il migliore! Keep it coming!
i remember recreating this when i was younger prob 25 years ago plus and doing every element including the piano solo love this song, and love your work Dr mix your a massive inspiration thank you
I'm a big fan of the bright "shimmering / bell" kind of synth sounds of the 80's. Like in Ryan Paris - Dolce vita. Please remake that!
no wayyyyyyy!!!…..i was thinking of this last week n wishing u could do a breakdown video on this song…….😂🤪🫡🤗 thank you!!
Keiki uto is a City Pop Fan, Mind-blowing 🔥
One of the best bass lines to be created. Instantly catchy.
Killer song. Love this videos.
Pd. 8:37 I thing the correct chord is Eb instead of Cm
Claudio: "Let me show you how to play Madonna." Also Claudio: "Hold on, I found a cool sound I want to play with for a few minutes. Where was I?" This is how I play too!
Claudio you get nice sounds out of those keyboards !!
I would like to see one of these days a meeting with Brian Auger, Steve Christie from Vintage Keys Studio and You !!
That would be absolutely fantastic !!
You can dance for inspiration! comes right at the start of Get into the groove.
