That's a great boat! I fished out of a stick-steer with some friends when I was just out of highschool. It seems to eliminate wasted space and reduce weight better than any other style. I live in Springdale so we're neighbors!
*This makes my old motor look like a toy **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it's well built. I haven't had it on the water yet, but I'm very sure it will perform just fine.*
very nice job....I have a friend that needs to get rid of a stick steering boat for a great price, but had no knowledge about stick steering, after seeing other videos as well as yours, I'm very sold , the boat is set up very much like yours but not all the modern electronics , it does have live well, foot controlled trolling and fish finder, thanks for the video
CC Thanks for the comments. I have both a center console and a stick steer, I love them both but my heart always goes out to the stick steer boat. Boat control is so simple! Good luck!!
As a person without any mechanical skills I really enjoyed your presentation of the work you designed and built for your custom boat. Looks like you are a happy family and a skilled builder and fisherman. Congratulations and enjoy!
@@ForWildsSake I just got a tiny 11 foot boat I am trying to decide if I want to go tiller and have more space or make a one man machine just for me with a steering console and a front deck.
Shane Wimer: setting up a one man boat would be really fun. My thought is as cool as the one man project may be, sooner than later your gonna want to take friend. Tillers are cool because if you want to slow your troll, you ca run in reverse. This also gives you very precise control of the boat
That would make a good riverboat with a jet motor too, plenty of guys with stick steers on the Susquehanna river here in PA. Nice work you did and done right.
Cool, Sorry it took so long to reply, been working like a dog. I got a new video coming out about catching monster crawfish on Table Rock Lake. It should be cool
It is a 18” chunk of PVC pipe, with a 12” floaty, I put a steel weight inside the PVC, then cap the ends. The rig float horizontal, then when a bite happens, it tilts, the weight goes down towards the hook and stands the floaty up like a bobber. Thanks for watching!
good job brother that's one Hellav boat you've got there enjoy your video gonna start my project soon just out here getting some info on how I'm gonna lay it out be safe
Thank Brother! Sorry for the late reply, been working like a dog. I have a new video coming out about catching monster crawfish on Table Rock Lake, it should be cool. Stay tuned
Great job on the boat and a really nicely produced video! Two questions: What design software do you use and which company’s stick steering did you use and why did you choose that product. Im just starting a new boat project on my 15’ Aluminum basic Flat Boat. I’m thinking about using an EZY-Glide EZY-Stick II 206. I have a new Mercury 20 Outboard... Oh, one more question... whose throttle shifter did you use and prefer?
Lance Griffith Sorry for the delayed response. I use Solidworks from work but it is quite expensive. I think Solidworks has a 2d version that looks and acts like Autocad and it is free. Good Luck!
Yes they are a little harder to steer at idle, like any boat. Make sure your using the right lubricant on your cable. no heavy greases or the cable will get gummed up. Thanks for watching.

Lance Griffith I used Solidworks software, I use it at work. It’s too expensive for a casual user. Blender 3D is a popular free 3D software but never used it. Easystick is the stick steering unit I used. I am running a 25hp but I used the 840 which is rated for 70 just to have the extra beef or if I upgrade to more HP. Make sure you measure your steering cable accurately and have a well thought out path to the motor. Good luck on the build! You won’t regret it. Stick steering boats fish amazing!!
I had an Alumaweld Crappie model with stick steering and regret letting it go. On the lakes by me it was awesome.
Great build. Thanks for sharing.
Once you fish out of a stick steer, it is hard to go back. Especially on small water. Thanks for watching!
I've looked at a bunch of builds. This is hands down my favorite.
@@ronniebutler2031 Thank you!!

Awesome build. Love stick steers for bass, rap pie and perch fishing.
Thanks Alan, thinking about building a bigger one. Appreciate you watching.
Wow, what a great job! Your work and attention to detail look like factory built.
Thank you so much!! Building out a jeep gladiator for overland camping now, stay tubed…lol. Thanks for watching
T-Bone got moves like a running back
That’s funny, yes he does!
Thanks for your video. Lots of great ideas.
You are very welcome, thanks for your support

Caca Roecha Racing Thank you sir! Tight lines.
Might be selling the little boat, bought a center console project boat and want a new fancy graph.
Beautiful build! Great post!
bauhaus Thank You
Awesome boat. Great job
Thanks 👍
Thanks again Steve, tell all the boys I said hi and I miss all you guys! Your comments are heart felt!
Hello I'm Sophie and my mom is Tara who you got Tbone from and I made up the name Tbone! Well just saying hello I subbed to you.
Hey Sophie, thanks for saying hi. We love T-bone!! He is such a big bruiser! Thank you for Subscribing!
That is some awesome work sir.
Thank you very much!
Great video. Love the boat.
Great job man. I'm not to far north in Cassville from yah. Wife is from NWA.

What is the anchor system ‘crank’ and where’d you get the swivel rod holders?
It’s been awhile since I built this boat, I think it is an Anchor Mate
Not a bad job for a nerd , Hope you are doing well , very nice job on the boat , love your videos, miss working for you . keep the videos coming .
Thanks Steve!!
Very cool how do you make the cat fishing rig the looks like a big spell rod with a styrofoam floaty with the dowel rod stuck through the floaty

Hilarious!!

Thank you and good luck with your project.
What'd you do with the steering console and steering wheel. I'm looking for one for my pf16 to convert it from stick steer
Louis Dickerson sold it a while ago, curious why you want to switch?
@@ForWildsSake stick steer is just a bit uncomfortable for me to drive with.
That what it’s all about.

I thought you were gonna show installing stick steering!
It’s a very simple process, bolt on the tick unit and connect the cable to the motor itself. You do have to know cable length ahead of time

Great video but you spent -0- time showing or discussing the stick steering?
This is the short, I was going to do a long form, as it was filmed in wide, but didn’t.
Great work got a name for it?
greatoutdoors09 Good question, I haven’t named her yet. I’ll have to think on that one and let ya know. Thanks for watching!!!
How much was the boat
I paid $900 for boat and trailer, both in good shape.
Any trouble turning the boat at medium speed? My stick steer is hard to turn if much more than an idle.
Yes they are a little harder to steer at idle, like any boat. Make sure your using the right lubricant on your cable. no heavy greases or the cable will get gummed up. Thanks for watching.
Nice boat wanna sell the console you took out
Thank you, but already did, might be selling boat here in a little bit, bought a center console project boat and want a fancy new graph..lol
Get a livescope and you won’t need any of that stuff that you did not get. You will not regret it
Got one a year or so back, built a new center console boat because I now live on Table Rock Lake. Build video's to come. Thanks for watching!
