Thanks for this video. Crazily I bought blue claw crab legs in a BAG, from the supermarket- I know shameful, but this will put them to good use. Great recipe!
Thanks for this recipe! I can't wait to try it this weekend. Do you season the corn flour? There used to be a buffet near me that had fried crab but they closed down. I've been trying to find a new location that had fried crab. Now, I can do my own.
Hi, i used to get a fried crab dish at this one Korean restaurant that im now thinking was just serving a Canto dish- anyway, we used to be able to eat the hardshell crab- they were big pieces of legs and other parts of the shell that were genuinely the hard shell and not a molting crab. Can you please tell me how to fry a crab properly/long enough to make the shell edible? Thank you
why did the cook take out the crab to cool and drain and then refry a second time? What is the purpose? like is it to make it crispy? very cool to watch him in action
Yes! thanks Diane for responding :) We always double fry to make sure the ingredients stay crispy. Or alternatively, you can prep ahead and fry again before you serve. It's always best if you serve the food hot off the wok!
Hi, thank you for watching our video! The first time we fry it is to make sure the ingredient is cooked (at a lower temperature), and we almost always fry a second time at a higher temperature to get a more crispy texture, and also the ingredients will actually be less greasy after you fry at a higher temperature.
Yes we used jalapeno. The pepper salt was homemade, you can find it in our pepper salt shrimp head video ua-cam.com/video/QuLkQqY2BIE/v-deo.html (starting at 3:25 ) :)
i will never understand the point coating the inedible shell with flour and all that seasoning. how does it ever impact the crab flesh which diners will then spend the next 2 hours trying to extract with excrutiating effort?
The shell isn't inedible, lol. One of my favorite dishes is a deep fried hardshell crab dish- they'd fry it for a long time to make the shell edible- very very crunchy but totally edible.
Be honest with yourself. You're killing and eating them not because you need it, but just to enjoy it because it tastes good. How you kill it doesn't matter.

Umm, No disrespect but can you please kill the crab more humanely if its alive if in the future..? Awesome recipe but really disturbing to watch! Thanks!

He tore it out of its shell in 1 sec. That’s good enough. How is that not humane? It’s essentially as fast a death as putting a knife in the brain. At some point, the method is just performative if other ways are just as fast.

Yes! Double fry to keep the crispness and avoid the crab (chicken, shrimp, fish) from going soft! 😊

I guess I am kind of off topic but does anybody know of a good place to watch new series online ?
@Anakin Dean Flixportal :)
@Jude Steven Thanks, I signed up and it seems to work :) Appreciate it !!
how many minutes you fry the first time? make a garlic ginger lemongrass crab video
how much home made salt and pepper should i use?
I would start with 3/4 Tbsp for each crab (also depending on the size of the crab). Start less and you can always add more :)
thank you!! will do this recipe for lunch later!
Can you please put the pepper salt recipe? It’s mentioned in the video but there’s no links. Thank you!!!!!

Wow looks so delicious...I AM scared.cleaning these.crabs. Very big..

Why do you have to take it out and refry it?

Yes we used jalapeno. The pepper salt was homemade, you can find it in our pepper salt shrimp head video

When you fry it like that can you also eat the crab shell since they are smaller pieces?
Hi! We don't recommend eating the crab shell because we didn't fry the crab that long (to make sure the crab meat is at its best!)
Definitely not something you should or would ever eat!
Is that a cast iron wok? I think I found my new toy.
Yes!
Why remove the stomach? I would usually just eat that after being cooked.

I stopped watching because of the way you are killing the crabs. Yes, we’re eating them. But damn, you could kill them first and then chop them up.
I fast forwarded that part. But yeah, you should put the crabs in the freezer for a few minutes and they’ll goto sleep before chopping...
Be honest with yourself. You're killing and eating them not because you need it, but just to enjoy it because it tastes good. How you kill it doesn't matter.
