You want those things? Most of those aspects will be applied to the sequel to TotK I am creating called The Legend of Zelda - Awakening of the Five Tribes, where Link is sent to the lands of Astoltia after being defeated by the Demon Cultist Razerburn in a body of one of Astoltia’s various races. AotFT is a mix of TotK and Dragon Quest X, a popular MMORPG from Japan and exclusive to Japan. AotFT will also have two expansions, one allowing Link and Zelda to explore the worlds of past Zelda games, and the other to explore certain worlds in the Dragon Quest series, notably Dragon Quest IX. The fact we haven't had fishing since Twilight Princess is astonishing. I would've loved spending hours fishing all over the Wild Hyrule. Modern games don't seem to realize that fishing - what they used to all include - is wonderful; hell, the Final Fantasy remakes have been great, in their own way, but haven't included fishing when it would be easy to just implement the fishing system from XV.
Agreed. Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, and the original Jak and Daxter all showed how to do a mute character. The Links (and Jak) never say a word in those games but through expression and body language react to everything going on: determination when faced with an enemy, confusion at left-field revelations, bashfulness when flirted with.
Link doesn't have to be like his 80's cartoon counterpart. He needs to be his own character who can be silent if he wants, not mute. But can speak a little if he choose to because he feels silences himself is the best way to not be overwhelm with the heavy burden as a hero.
@@GreenOfFields Exactly. Twilight Princess and especially Wind Waker Link were both very expressive and were able to convey a lot without saying a word. Let the player imagine what they would say in that situation, as that will always be better than whatever dialogue is written.
Link has never been actually mute and referencing a cartoon from 30 years ago back when the series had no idea what it was is hardly a logical reason to set standards for today's games that have advanced far beyond that. The more in depth these games get, the worse it looks to have link be an emotionless silent caveman who's only personality trait is "swing sword good"
5:20 You don't need Link to talk to make him a Character look at Skyward Sword they manage to give us a Link with emotions he laughed, he smiled, he gets scared, he even cried in one scene, it isn't that hard to make a Silent Protagonist feel like a Character so no we don't need Link to talk we just need them to have more personality.
Just get rid of the weapons breaking or give us a permanent weapon in the beginning that I can upgrade. Finding pieces of the master sword would be cool.
And have both Link and Zelda be playable with magic companions to assist them on their quest through Hyrule and beyond, as well as the dungeons, against both Ganondorf/Ganon and another villain he teams up with.
I HATE breaking weapons. If they're going to stick with that concept, they need to give us blacksmiths in towns that can repair weapons and cool ways to upgrade them. Dark Cloud had "Repair Powder" for use in dungeons; Zelda could do something similar. But I'd really prefer weapons that don't break. I don't want to be forced to collect crap weapons and prioritize them by "which I don't mind breaking first." I want legendary swords and hammers and stuff like that: stuff that feels heroic. Not a tree branch or a rusted spear that breaks in three swings.
I really despise that the Zelda developer talked about traditional Zelda games in a way he was shoving them aside and saying we can now never go back to linear Zelda… I love the approach of BOTW and TOTK, but they were experiments, they’ve changed a lot and rightly so, but it doesn’t mean we have to abandon traditional Zelda.
I know a way where both fans can have Traditional Zelda and Open World Zelda, with modern technology Nintendo could easily make a Traditional Zelda Game in a very short time since they would be smaller titles and not take too long compared to the Open World Games, so fans get those while still waiting for the next big Open World Zelda Game it's really that simple it's like Aonuma doesn't want both Fans of the Franchise to be happy.
Yeah, I still want a fully 2d zelda that doesn't have a single 3d object in it. That kind of limitation is what made the handheld Zeldas the most interesting and the most creative. And timeless too.

Story. Big factor. Also weapons. I would say just give an upgrade system. Start with a stick. Collect enough items to change it to a weak sword or dagger and just keep building it up. Same can be done with bows and shields
Would be nice to see Lands, Kingdoms other than Hyrule. Or Hyrule just being one of multiple worlds to explore. Definitely agree dungeons should go back to the routes and take Majora's Mask and Skyward Sword influence. Bringing back the Magic Meter also does sound like a great idea too.
You have to question why they removed the magic meter in the first place. The game needed to be more accessible and you get almost all the abilities at the start of botw. Magic just slows everything down unless its an auto regenerative meter.
I've been wanting and predicting this for years... I imagine a story taking place in a smaller realm like an island or something similar in scale to more classic depictions of Hyrule, but with EXTREME attention to detail. Then players could marvel as they are introduced to the magic that reduces their size, hopefully in multiple stages throughout the story (like... adult, child, cat, mouse, bug...?) as the world expands immensely, not just in a simple measure from one end to the other, but in the depth and creativity of the new, tiny areas that become accessible, literally everywhere. The end result could be something that carries the feel of both a "classic" dungeon crawler in the over-world where Link is still caught up in a quest to protect the land and the "big people" that he knows and loves, but that also transforms into, and intertwines with, a world more grand and intricate than any we've yet seen, where players can spend countless hours fighting insects and bouncing around on flowers and retrieving stolen keys from rodents living under the floorboards, not to mention the new creatures and even races that would likely be apart of the tiny, hidden world. The possibilities for puzzles and addictive mechanics in an open map where you can change size at will is insane and near limitless. I honestly do believe and almost guarantee that they will bring that same mechanic to the 3D titles in the near future. Here's hoping.
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake. One of the most highly regarded highly rated games of all time deserves a modern makeover. In the 20 years since ocarina of time has been released, many technological and gameplay improvements have been made that can be applied to a remake of ocarina of time. A giant open world to discover orchestral music dynamic lighting, 4K graphics, motion controls, customizable outfits and weapons, two player co-op, online capabilities, downloadable content, fully voiced characters, and real time cut scenes.
OoT famously had real time cut scenes - and I really don't see how you'd make two player co-op work, same goes for online capabilities. Customizable outfits and weapons? Meh. I would like dynamic lighting, 4K graphics and motion controls for the bow (not for the sword, we've been there, done that, got the t-shirt, not revisiting that). So... you're half right, and yet, I'm still pumped for a remake.
@@cheke_hsYa I don’t agree with the OP for the most part but I do agree that a remake would be nice. Many of the lifelong Zelda fans would replay it and it would introduce a lot of new people to the pre BOTW formula
Its so frustrating that they didn't address this in Totk. So many people asked for it and they just compete ignored all of us. Anything would have been better than what we got to be honest. Repair for example or a better fuse mechanic. I played through the whole game with the unbreakable master sword using a glitch and it was much better. Finding weapons over and over is just a damn chore.
@@ff3player I marked every Rocktorok on my map and would fast travel back there to repair weapons lol Totally broke my immersion, but I hate the breaking system.
I would love to see more attack options and skills learned throughout the game. In twilight princess you were able to learn a half dozen or so different attacks. It gets boring just hitting the attack button and seeing link do the same combo over and over again.
Some good thoughts in this video! Something to remember is that BOTW was developed for the Wii U, then ported to the switch. TOTK was developed for the Switch - but by the time it came out, it wasn't really a new platform. At all. BOTW was full-on experimentation, seeing what they could do with the Zelda franchise in an open world format. TOTK was an effort to maximize that as much as possible, adding creative abilities and vertical depth to an already large map. There's a new platform coming out - one which undoubtedly will have much better hardware and overall capability. A lot of the limitations - be they actual or subjective - of BOTW and TOTK will be gone. I fully believe that Nintendo *wanted* to have traditional dungeons, but they had to focus on one or the other. Not both. Well, now they'll have the history to pull from with classic games, all the experiences of the open world ones, AND a brand new console to run it from. Nobody knows what the story will be, but I fully anticipate a VERY large world with crazy exploration methods we can't imagine yet, more in-depth character interactions, maybe even multiple endings, on top of dungeons, new enemies, new items/weapons and a very involved story. BOTW/TOTK were basically, "Okay let's see what we can do" - now they know, they know it worked, so now it's "Hold my beer" time. Whatever we get, it's gonna be good. 🙂
Nah, Aonuma was really clear - he didn't like the dungeons anymore, as well as any form of linearity. To be fair, that man has been running Zelda into the ground since MM.
@KoenvdW88 I'd say that's a hard argument to make, considering how many millions of copies of BOTW and TOTK have sold. Most games have gone to open world formats - they're trying to keep the franchise alive. One can still change to survive, while keeping elements of the past alive. That's exactly what they did.
@KoenvdW88 he's right the dungeons was a TIRED format. It's only all these new zelda players calling for it back. Open air is much better. More freedom. Not so much commitment to one dungeon/temple. As a kid before Google I would get stuck in a dungeon for weeks. This generation would never know the feeling. This time, I just want them to focus on that story, Enemy variety, more interesting things to collect, weapons.
Sadly, Aonuma doesn't seem to understand why fans love the older titles. He's stuck in modernity and trying new things. Some of us want a return to formula; Echoes of Wisdom was too much fun.
Since Nintendo is now open with Zelda being fully playable, I got an idea for a new 3D Zelda game. It's one that can be played both in single player and co-op that features both Link and Zelda travelling together on a quest to save Hyrule. Kinda like Sprit Tracks but Zelda is not a spirit and is fully playable as much as Link. I also thought of Zelda having ninja skills like Shiek in the Super Smash Bros games to make her gameplay unique from Link's. Plus this idea can incorporate some of the ideas mentioned din this video like having a thriving community, more unique dungeons and giving characters like Link and Zelda more depth.
Leaving Hyrule and a different villain should be number 1 priority as those supplement both gameplay and story at the same time. No Hyrule or Ganon/dorf or even adjacent locations and villains with a different name like the map of Skyward Sword or Demise. To add on the wish list Framerate Optimization Also keep the story all in the present. No more past story conveyed through flashbacks unless it pertains to the worlds history. Add a new race or bring back one we haven't seen in a long time. Keaton, Twili, Lokomo, Mogma for example. Under Water Exploration. Be it with a water companion, scale, outfit.
Love this!!! This video literally names everything I didn't like about BOTW / TOKT. I particularly agree with the dungeons critique, the new "temples" just feel like larger shrines. I wouldnt mind another open world game, as long as some of the areas remain unaccessible until Link has progressed far enough in the game (ie. by beating dungeons / bosses and obtaining new items). I also really don't like that you can just go fight Ganon right after finishing the tutorials, that kind of makes the entire games seem somewhat pointless. I hope with all my heart that Nintendo pays attention to this :)
I would love to see a series of Zelda games like how they did BOTW and TOTK, but set in the same world that goes from peaceful and prosperous to destroyed and divided Hyrule, then rebuilding and reconnecting the world again. And now playing The Minish Cap for the first time, I really want to see the Picori in an open world Zelda game, where you can shrink down and explore entire regions as a tiny character. It has so much charm.
As a lifelong fan 🎉who's even bought a Philips CDI to play those games so I could finish every Zelda game here's my wishlist: 1. Solid story 2. Music 3. Gameplay not based on a gimmick 4. Not having a massive empty world 5. Unreal Engine or similar. 6. Get rid of useless armor and breakable weapons.
I only want to see one thing from a new Zelda game, and that is an OoT HD remake. I want that game brought to modern consoles. Its hands down the best Zelda game. Anyone who says otherwise is just plain wrong.
Honestly, I'd love to have a return to Pieces of Heart hidden behind puzzles in the overworld or as side quest rewards (like they were in Echoes of Wisdom). I was replaying older Zelda titles and really miss stuff like that.
My first introduction to Zelda was the animated series when I was a kid. Link had that “excuse me, princess attitude.” I always wished he had more of a funny personality in the games.
Maybe something similar to triforce shard hunting from Wind Waker. Definitely need better dungeons and more lively towns and cities. Better rewards for exploration. A full crafting system for weapons and other gear, and to help expand the use of monster parts and make them worth farming. A re-imagined magic meter. More challenging enemies for late game. New places to explore.
Both Zelda and Link as playable characters - Link trapped in the sacred realm seeking the triforce, developing the physics engine so he navigates a zero-G environment with localized gravity around floating chunks of land (bring in the hookshot early). Zelda is in Hyrule doing a more linear skill, spell, and item based progression questline that makes heavy use of her Sheikah guise. Every dungeon spans the two realms. Completing the dungeons and other pieces of the adventure requires switching back and forth between characters (or maybe even multiplayer?). There's my pitch
Does anyone else want Link to be left handed again? Or just me? 😅 they missed an opportunity to do that in Tears of the Kingdom since he lost his right arm
7:52 Very much this. It's weird because I always considered 3D Zeldas to be pretty easy until Breath of the Wild, which I have yet to complete in part due to how insanely hard everything hits you even with top-grade armor. Compare that to the toughest enemy in any other 3D Zelda- the Ironknuckle- hitting for 5 hearts, while most lategame foes in BOTW take off much more, including numerous one-hit kills. Need to establish some middle ground here. - How about a class role system similar to Majora's Mask? Allow Link to switch his costume between a Thief class for sneaking, Magician class for magic, Warrior for fighting, etc., and have one of the rewards be something that levels up one class of your choice to gain a new ability in that role. And like with Majora's Mask characters would treat you differently based on your class.
Would be nice if at start link had to choose between two or three powers that would match classes. Like Swordwielder, archer and spellcaster. Great replayability and you’ll have to find different solutions to the same problem
My biggest wish for the future of Zelda that should satisfy most things on your list: Console-based direct sequel to Wind Waker. Same art style, still set at sea. Make it much bigger: the original map was 7x7, but these days they could easily do at least 20x20. Whole bunch of dungeons. Whole bunch of side quests. Obviously a robust warp system. Possibly make it MMO.
More darker tones, realistic graphics, weapon/shield upgrades through side quests, believable movements; a LOT of things we either miss or haven't seen yet... Zelda isn't quite set in many places or situations that its cartoonish graphics due justice. The world in Zelda is going to hell in a handbasket at all times and we're greeted with universes that look like a G-rated children's show.
I wouldn’t mind weapons breaking for a while as long as there was a blacksmith you could pay to upgrade them so they lasted longer by providing items and rupees for the upgrade. With rarer items you could got an unbreakable upgrade.
I'd like to see transformations show up again. One of the best things about Majora's Mask was you could become another race with their unique abilities. Who else here would relish the chance to soar through the skies as a Rito? :3 OH. And bring back swimming underwater themes.
I really miss the Hookshot. Get back those important key items you get in tough dungeons that you just get to keep and use whenever. Im ok with weapons and bows and shields breaking, but having certain items that cant break thats very useful to access places you couldnt without them would be massive.
A mysterious storyline leading to an extensive dungeon with unique mini bosses, dungeon boss, and lasting artifact. Ex Spirit Temple TOTK Ex Wind Temple TOTK Ex Hyrule Castle BOTW Ex Tarrey Town Side Quest BOTW Ex Lucky Glover Gazette Side Quest TOTK What I would have liked to see in BOTW is to get to eventide Island you would need to commandeer a ship. Find a crew and captain across Hyrule. Do side quests for each of them. Have them sail you to eventide. You discover an extensive cave system on the island leading to an extensive dungeon. Artifact is you receive a captains hat which allows you to captain a ship. After defeating the dungeon boss you can learn to fish on the island. Rebuild the island and transport people from across Hyrule to relocate to eventide village.
What i would like to see: 1. Real dungeons (like everyone else i guess 🤣). 2. It's fine if we have a highe variety of breakable weapons but give us a sword that doesn't break and can be upgraded as you progress the story (Basically what the master sword was like in most games). 3. Remove the voiced/dubbed dialogues (and definitely don't give voice to Link). They just didn't feel right in a Zelda game. I miss the strange sounds and small sentences/words (beetle 😎). 4. Green tunic from the start. Come on, it's Link! It's cool that you can have multiple pices of equipment but the tunic HAS to be there right from the start and have a meaning (academy uniform, soldier, hero's tunic or whatever background you want to give it). 5. Want to see more of the 3 goddesses and the triforce. Zelda is getting a bit too monotheistic with Hylia since skyward sword. 6. The story doesn't need to be very complex but don't bring back the copy paste cinematics like in Tears ever again. 7. Real dungeons (yeah, again 🤣). Ok, a companion would be nice.
The four sages would have been cool companion, too sad that they were with you only a few times except for Mineru, the others were only echoes, and that make them difficult to recognize who was who while you want to use their powers😂
Rauru would’ve been a great companion in Tears of the Kingdom since I have seen most of the concept arts in the Master Works. Would’ve give the first Kingdom of Hyrule some more character development with a character growth from an idealistic king to someone who realizes how dangerously naive for not thinking how the world works. Thus his and Sonia’s goal of Eternal Peace do not live the harsh reality that war never changes. And that no matter what or how much time passes, conflicts will always be created.
meeting actual characters that had the triforce triangles on each hand in TOTK and BOTW that was never shown. example in twilight princess, when Link transforms into a wolf there was a split sec cutscene of the Tri force of courage shown on his hand and was glowing, only Zelda had that happen to her during one of the memory flashbacks in BOTW. I miss petting and picking up the dogs and cats in the games but that doesn't happen in the newer ones... I'm glad they got rid of the spider enemies those always creeped me out.
If they never go back to the traditional linear games in the 3D format then, it would be great if they make them in the 2D format (like they did with Link’s Awakening and the new Zelda one).
Keep Princess Zelda (or whatever counterpart) involved. The Wild Era games gave us the best characterization of Zelda to-date and Echoes of Wisdom demonstrated what she meant to the people in her kingdom. Midna (who played more of an important role than Zelda in Twilight Princess) is still regaled as among the best companions. If you want to magnify the importance of a character like Zelda, she needs to be treated as such by the story. Not just there when the plot needs her.
Open world like totk but traditional dungeons. The side adventures are awesome and should be the standard quality of side quests. Put back some of the collectithon elements like poes, bugs, etc but make them reasonable not 1000 korok seeds. Land sea and air should all be open to explore, and throw in a fishing rod and a decent fishing minigame. Let us have our own house that we can build (not just prefab squares we push together), and play the game after beating it. I wanna be able to celebrate with the characters we grow with, and has been something the Zelda series should've done even if it's just like an instance of an epilogue similar to baldurs gate 3
More about the Goddesses. I wholeheartedly agree about magic (meter). Triforce. I grew up with topview games but I think it can still be done in a modern way. Sure I liked that plasticky toy look but a mix of both can work. I really do want true dungeons. LttP-style hookshot. I don’t know why Link is always perceived as mute when he has dialogue options with NPCs but he just ignores the princess? Speaking of which if her father, the King died, wouldn’t she then be coronated to the Throne. So maybe Queen Zelda and Consort Link. They travel to the other kingdoms around the world when a new foe did global damage and they must help fix. Or something.
The dungeons in both BOTW and TOTK were subpar. BOTW's were boring and TOTK's were so easy, I almost felt like I was cheating. Then you look at the shrines in both games, and I'm perplexed as to why dungeons are such a problem. Just take the shrines as a template and expand on them to make a proper dungeon!
My wish is: - forcet Online Co-Op - buying rupys with real money - 7 more in game currencys - non skipable commercial for dating apps while you fight a boss - 100% crappy touchscreen gameplay - daily challanges like "start the game" - random social media comments - pop ups that ask me every 5 minutes for a 5 star vote in the eShop
The next Zelda game should have a duel story Where it jumps between you playing as Link, working out why the twilight is coming back as the Twlight mirror is missing so he leaves hyrule to go find it. While also playing as Dark Link trying to take over the realm and spreading the corruption and twilight to a certain mountian that if the corruption access it, it awaken the return of Zant. When playing as Link its a traditional Zelda experience, but when playing as Dark Link, it's more of a devil may cry-esque experience where your goal is to take down the realms 5 region leaders to corrupt the region in twilight. There can be 2-3 Endings Dark Link Ending Link Ending Zant Ending
story being the totk/botw map is 1/16th of the total map and incorporating the entire lore from the other franchise to be included in the mastermap. awakening map/island can be part of the sea map. we already have the sky islands map. then include skyward sword in another 1/16th. 3 sections being sky, hyrule, and chasm made it hard enough. cant see why not make it a bit longer and harder. if this is the last zelda better make it grander and a perfect swan song that will have the elements of the other lores.
Not every game can work with the Botw and Totk style that the games established. We do need more traditional dungeons, the Shrines and maybe more compelling and longer stories. Tbh the other features I don't mind possibly returning. Just because it was a perfect blend of fun and challenge to ask you, how will you do it.
Hyrule is quite perfect for zelda to stay in, it has been reworked many times and it still works. There is a lot of items variety. The only thing i can really get behind is traditional dungeons or atleast more satisfying dungeons, shrines of temples it all felt too easy.
I want them to bring back the Twili and Deku Scrubs to the main series. I also want them to bring back some of the Elements from Ocarina of Time. I want Light, Shadow, and Spirit back. Maybe Forest is fine as Wind.
Glad to see skyward sword get its flowers for the story alone. Many people don’t enjoy this installment but because of the story it’s one of my favorite Zelda titles
I would like LOZ to go back using it's original formula. Trying to mimic all those open sandbox games was just wrong, rather than making the game different, it made it unrecognizable, I also hope to see Link left-handed again.

They should do a 3D version of Minish Cap done like Wind Waker
Here for this idea
That would be epic
I agree, minish cap is such a cool story
I want the next Zelda game to go back to the older game styles like OOT, TP, MM, stuff like that
Same!!!!
Won't happen, Aonuma already said open world is the future👍
Please not OOT and MM, I’ve already seen so many romhacks in those styles,
PS: even IF we got those styles I prefer the 3DS remake ones
Outside of a OoT And MM remakes , give us an ocarina and the ability to learn songs, traditional dungeons, and treasure chests with unlockable items
A+ take
Ocarina of Time set the standard, not just for Zelda, but other games as well
OoT famously had real time cut scenes - and I really don't see how you'd make two player co-op work, same goes for online capabilities. Customizable outfits and weapons? Meh. I would like dynamic lighting, 4K graphics and motion controls for the bow (not for the sword, we've been there, done that, got the t-shirt, not revisiting that). So... you're half right, and yet, I'm still pumped for a remake.
You cannot be serious with any of this lmao.
@@cheke_hsYa I don’t agree with the OP for the most part but I do agree that a remake would be nice. Many of the lifelong Zelda fans would replay it and it would introduce a lot of new people to the pre BOTW formula
How about weapons that don’t break anymore.
Breaking weapons got really old really fast!!!
How about the ability to repair your weapons not using the Octorock
Its so frustrating that they didn't address this in Totk. So many people asked for it and they just compete ignored all of us. Anything would have been better than what we got to be honest. Repair for example or a better fuse mechanic. I played through the whole game with the unbreakable master sword using a glitch and it was much better. Finding weapons over and over is just a damn chore.
@@ff3player
I marked every Rocktorok on my map and would fast travel back there to repair weapons lol Totally broke my immersion, but I hate the breaking system.
@@illuminated_crown I personally feel like the new platform will allow for both. Open world plus the depth of dungeons and more detailed interaction.
Sadly, Aonuma doesn't seem to understand why fans love the older titles. He's stuck in modernity and trying new things. Some of us want a return to formula; Echoes of Wisdom was too much fun.
The hookshot. Give us the hookshot.
Yes that and Bottles.
Something like Elden Ring. Area too tough? Come back later with better gear and enough items
Hot take, but Dark Souls is highly overrated.
"maybe let ganon take a breather too" Man can't breathe at all. XD
Dungeons please and bring back skultulas, skull kid, kokiri kids, the redead, and fairies
Now that Echoes of Wisdom has been a success, can we get a game where Ganondorf's the playable character?
What I want to see is 8 dungeons 8 specialty items and a compelling story
Old school linear progression!
Leaving Hyrule and a different villain should be number 1 priority as those supplement both gameplay and story at the same time. No Hyrule or Ganon/dorf or even adjacent locations and villains with a different name like the map of Skyward Sword or Demise. To add on the wish list
Framerate Optimization
Also keep the story all in the present. No more past story conveyed through flashbacks unless it pertains to the worlds history.
Add a new race or bring back one we haven't seen in a long time. Keaton, Twili, Lokomo, Mogma for example.
Under Water Exploration. Be it with a water companion, scale, outfit.
If we don’t get underwater exploration again, that’s a major disappointment
Love this!!! This video literally names everything I didn't like about BOTW / TOKT. I particularly agree with the dungeons critique, the new "temples" just feel like larger shrines. I wouldnt mind another open world game, as long as some of the areas remain unaccessible until Link has progressed far enough in the game (ie. by beating dungeons / bosses and obtaining new items). I also really don't like that you can just go fight Ganon right after finishing the tutorials, that kind of makes the entire games seem somewhat pointless. I hope with all my heart that Nintendo pays attention to this :)
An actual intriguing story..? 😅
Make Link uses his sword with left hand.
As a lifelong fan 🎉who's even bought a Philips CDI to play those games so I could finish every Zelda game here's my wishlist:
1. Solid story
2. Music
3. Gameplay not based on a gimmick
4. Not having a massive empty world
Real dugeons with actual puzzles and not a disconnected overly simplistic 5 switch system
If they want to be all about player freedom, why don't they try letting the player actually affect the story? Give us multiple endings.
More dungeons and story
Make another hero of time game
Phantom Hourglass HD and Spirit Tracks HD running on the Wind Waker engine
I would love to see DARK LINK! It would be a phenomenal fight!

How about a class role system similar to Majora's Mask? Allow Link to switch his costume between a Thief class for sneaking, Magician class for magic, Warrior for fighting, etc., and have one of the rewards be something that levels up one class of your choice to gain a new ability in that role. And like with Majora's Mask characters would treat you differently based on your class.
Would be nice if at start link had to choose between two or three powers that would match classes. Like Swordwielder, archer and spellcaster. Great replayability and you’ll have to find different solutions to the same problem
My biggest wish for the future of Zelda that should satisfy most things on your list:
Console-based direct sequel to Wind Waker. Same art style, still set at sea. Make it much bigger: the original map was 7x7, but these days they could easily do at least 20x20. Whole bunch of dungeons. Whole bunch of side quests. Obviously a robust warp system. Possibly make it MMO.
I always imagined Link with an Arcanine.
There should be an option to invite Zelda to the crib after defeating ganondorf and be able to pipe. My infinity pool is getting lonely
No more open word
A Ganondorf with nuance, like Wind Waker’s version
I would love a love life that goes after age of calamity Link and Mipha
I wouldn’t mind weapons breaking for a while as long as there was a blacksmith you could pay to upgrade them so they lasted longer by providing items and rupees for the upgrade. With rarer items you could got an unbreakable upgrade.
I'd like to see transformations show up again. One of the best things about Majora's Mask was you could become another race with their unique abilities.
Who else here would relish the chance to soar through the skies as a Rito? :3
OH. And bring back swimming underwater themes.
I liked the upgrade system to the items in skyward sword it gave the collectables value and something to look foward to
I want playable Sheik.
Make the triforce relevant again.
Ex Spirit Temple TOTK
Ex Wind Temple TOTK
Ex Hyrule Castle BOTW
Ex Tarrey Town Side Quest BOTW
Ex Lucky Glover Gazette Side Quest TOTK
What I would have liked to see in BOTW is to get to eventide Island you would need to commandeer a ship.
I just hope they involve the triforce in the next installment, be that 2D or 3D.
What i would like to see:
Absolutely agree with number 3. They need to fire Zelda's VA. She's so trash
The four sages would have been cool companion, too sad that they were with you only a few times except for Mineru, the others were only echoes, and that make them difficult to recognize who was who while you want to use their powers😂
I wanna see redeads make a comeback like the ones from OOT and MM
Rauru would’ve been a great companion in Tears of the Kingdom since I have seen most of the concept arts in the Master Works.
Would’ve give the first Kingdom of Hyrule some more character development with a character growth from an idealistic king to someone who realizes how dangerously naive for not thinking how the world works.
Thus his and Sonia’s goal of Eternal Peace do not live the harsh reality that war never changes. And that no matter what or how much time passes, conflicts will always be created.
There is a difficulty choice: it's called finding and upgrading your armor along with finding and investing heart pieces
meeting actual characters that had the triforce triangles on each hand in TOTK and BOTW that was never shown. example in twilight princess, when Link transforms into a wolf there was a split sec cutscene of the Tri force of courage shown on his hand and was glowing, only Zelda had that happen to her during one of the memory flashbacks in BOTW.
I would agree with everything. Most of all dungeon reform amd weapon unlocks
Companion💔
If the mobs aren’t stronger then ill be pissed
What we need is minish cap remade with perhaps wind waker artstyle but in 3D which Nintendo should have done a long time ago
I just want the original formula one more time. Not that the modern games arent great! They are amazing!!
Link talking would be good also, like to see Midna return
Pretty much agree with everything on the list, but strongly an actual story as well as Link becoming a defined character.
My wish is:
- forcet Online Co-Op
- buying rupys with real money
- 7 more in game currencys
- non skipable commercial for dating apps while you fight a boss
- 100% crappy touchscreen gameplay
- daily challanges like "start the game"
- random social media comments
- pop ups that ask me every 5 minutes for a 5 star vote in the eShop
In the new game they should have less abilities and more items like hookshot
Yes that and Swords that don't break!
It’s fine if we are still in Hyrule just a new version of it
Watch them give us a BOTW 3 that takes place in the same Hyrule again that would definitely piss off everyone.
The next Zelda game should have a duel story
Where it jumps between you playing as Link, working out why the twilight is coming back as the Twlight mirror is missing so he leaves hyrule to go find it.
There can be 2-3 Endings
Dark Link Ending
Link Ending
Zant Ending
story being the totk/botw map is 1/16th of the total map and incorporating the entire lore from the other franchise to be included in the mastermap. awakening map/island can be part of the sea map. we already have the sky islands map. then include skyward sword in another 1/16th. 3 sections being sky, hyrule, and chasm made it hard enough. cant see why not make it a bit longer and harder. if this is the last zelda better make it grander and a perfect swan song that will have the elements of the other lores.
I want an Ocarina of Time remake when I see the Cryzen X, Rwanlink guys or I play through the game again I wish more and more for a real remake.
New over world. Exploration in Tears of the Kingdom felt too familiar. They mystery if the land you're in is 90% of the fun.
Essentially, every item is: make the new games like the old games.
(Which I don't disagree btw)
Glad to see skyward sword get its flowers for the story alone. Many people don’t enjoy this installment but because of the story it’s one of my favorite Zelda titles
All Zelda games that take place somewhere that's not hyrule are direct sequels of earlier Zelda games that DO take place in Hyrule
I would like LOZ to go back using it's original formula. Trying to mimic all those open sandbox games was just wrong, rather than making the game different, it made it unrecognizable, I also hope to see Link left-handed again.
Original NES Zelda was about as sandboxy as a NES game could be, allowing you to visit dungeons in any order.
Original was literally a sandbox game. They went back to the original formula.
@@yothatscrash3092 @WhiteFangofWar Neither of you actually played the original Zelda to completion if you think it's a sandbox game, stop twisting the truth
i want a dark world. the underground in totk was too basic. i want a psychedelic, evil reflection of hyrule
Unbreakable weaponry would be nice
