Weird to only show the Top screen in Spirit tracks and not gameplay.
Finally an accurate difficulty tier list written by someone who actually played the games. We need more games like Majora's Mask and Oracles not in regards to difficulty, but they have far less in common with other Zelda games then the other Zelda games have with eachother. Playing the other games back to back can make them feel formulaic, but these games are just downright unique underappreciated masterpieces.
Where’s Majora’s Mask?
For me hard is skyward
Zelda 2 is the hardest by far.
Okay, two things. You showed the wrong screen for Spirit Tracks and you showed the wrong game for Four Swords Adventures!
Yeah, this channel and WhatCulture are prone to mistakes at least with some part of their video game vids...
It's Watchmojo lmao. At this point it'd be weird if they didn't make this mistake
I was gonna point this out thanks
Because they are a quantity over quality channel that has figured out the algorithm to make sure that their horrible shitty videos get in front of your face to maximize profit for the corporation than actually good videos by independent creators who are trying to make a living. Like who the hell QA'd this video and said "Yeah, the map is the correct screen to show in this 3D Zelda game". Someone who has less understanding of videogames than your boomer grandparents.
@@civilwildmanwell I don’t see other people making as many mistakes and inaccurate information lmao
Only bottom screen footage for the Spirit Tracks portion of the video and the gameplay for Four Sword Adventures was from Four Swords.
How did no one catch this?
yeah what if someone had never seen ST before..theyd be confused
i've never played spirit tracks and i was confuse why the gameplay was like that
Lazy money grabbing video. At least pretend like you’re trying. /:
Fr
I'm pretty sure everyone knew Zelda 2 would top the list being much harder than the other games.
And that's why I loved this game so much
Surprised to see TOTK rank low since I feel it's somewhat harder than BOTW, which already is more difficult than past 3D Zelda games
The final boss was harder than BOTW
It's not really difficult but it does have a learning curve like how Elden Ring has a learning curve. In Elden Ring, your loadout, character stats, strategies were your difficulty slider. Same is true of armor, weapons, and your Zonai contraptions in ToTK and knowing how to execute various combat techniques. If you play the game like a regular hack n slash and don't think about how you approach encounters then yeah, it'll be somewhat relatively more difficult. (i.e: Railing the Water Temple boss with a Zonai Firetruck). Given that most players just ran a hoverbike and flying deathstars and others didnt, mileage will vary. Though it's no surprise people will find this game to be easier than BoTW which had a far steeper learning curve which at the top looks like a Devil May Cry game with high range melee tracking and speed hacks.
Botw and Totk are easy to play. They’re only difficult to master. The old Zelda games on the NES are hard to play.
Let s be real here folks Watchmojo doesn t know what its doing
The desert temple and boss is harder than anything in BotW. Everything else is too easy. Everything can be bypassed or cheesed with the right tools. BotW had more challenge overall and the puzzles of the 4 beats were mostly more difficult.
Why did you only use the lower screen map footage for Spirit Tracks? Tf? Also, Spirit tracks is more difficult than Phantom Hourglass.
Did nobody take a look at the video before uploading?
Disrespected, i like Spirit tracks more than phantom hoursglass.
Spirit tracks is my fav Zelda❤
the twilight princess placement is a sin
Its not the hardest, i never died in the game.
@@mattiasolsson1523 didnt say it was the hardest
It’s really not. It’s an amazing game but this is ranked on difficulty not quality
@@boombazookajoey again, i never said it was the hardest
@@Super_gamer50555then why complain seriously
Jesus chrisy, wtf is that Spirit Tracks footage.
Look, Wind Waker is my favorite Zelda game, but there's no way in heck is it that difficult. It is way easier compared to half the games before it. Even my best friend, who hasn't played a single Zelda game, has been able to make it to the Earth Temple without a single game over. Closest he even came to a game over was the Forbidden Woods boss, and even then he still had 2 Fairies.
Probably the only difficult thing about it are the sidequests, and even those are optional.
When you stay on top of 100%ing Majora's Mask, the combat can be a cakewalk, but trying to get every piece of heart and mask is challenging in its own right.
Even with a walkthrough certain sections were difficult.
@nanoo4141 The Stone Tower in general was a fun challenge to overcome and very rewarding.
Mojo plays. Should be Mojo diesn't play. I don't think whoever writes these plays any of these games.
Difficulty is relative. Everyone experiences difficulty differently.
@@collinhalverson4681 I did not mention anything about the difficulty. Just the way they talk about the games.
I remenber Zelda 2 being so difficult that i have to Watch a guide to Where i supposed to go.
in the early 90's there were no guides or you didn't know about them. I loved this game because it was so hard. Dark Souls of my childhood 😂
You placed Twilight Princess as EASIER than Skyward Sword?!?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is true, i agree with that.
Skyward sword is easy
Twilight Princess is easier.
In what world is TP easier than SS? SS is more of an interactive story - Fi holds your hand the entire way. The only thing making SS more “difficult” is using the wiimote. But I bought TP on the Wii and learned the wiimote controls - not difficult, really.
@@traviscunningham7062The Cave of Ordeals alone is harder than anything in Skyward Sword.
Take this down and re-upload it once you have the right footage 👍
Triforce Heroes as single player was a nightmare. That bird boss on the seesaw was grim.
I feel like you can't included the oracle games together when you include botw and totk together.
Since I saw the concept arts of Kotake and Koume in the Master Arts, and made brief appearances as cameos in Tears of the Kingdom cutscenes, I feel Twinrova boss is one of those missed opportunities that could’ve made the story better.
Either to be a better boss battle for Link in the Spirit Temple… or to be a challenge for the playable Princess Zelda before she, Rauru, and the Ancient Sages made their pre determined confrontation with the Demon King.
Would’ve been nice of Nintendo to give us the master mode and a Twinrova boss battle in Tears of the Kingdom if not for their decision to cancel their DLC plans.
😂😂😂
Was there a plan for that?
They have said at the beggining the game is completed and there is no more to show
@@just-Boldi There are concept arts that shows some interesting continuity that would of help better the story and gameplay in the Master Work but was cut off.
Um Mojoplay why did you show gameplay of Four Swords when talking about Four Swords Adventure?
IKR?
I was confused by that too
None of that footage for FSA was actually from that game by the way. Also, you /could/ have up to 3 friends on GameBoys but you didnt /have/ to like you did for Four Swords. FSA had a single-player option from the get-go.
The Spirit Tracks footage tho lmao
I‘ve Never been 1 shotted as often as when i First Played BOTW. Felt ridicouslously hard, when i first fought a lynel!!
BOTW and Tears are tough. As is Phantom Hourglass.
BOTW is not that tough, only the first few hours.
7:14 i have no idea why everyone says the final fight in TOTK was “hard” and “like an elden ring boss” i made so much gloom resistant food and i didn’t even need any of it. like it was disappointingly easy
I admit, Twillight Princess do lack challange but makes up with impressive gameplay and world. Is still a superb game.
Skyward Sword was a improvement in challenge I think.
@@traviscunningham7062
You right, players can’t just swing the Wii remote crazy like it Twillight Princess. I like both games.
The way you say “werrel’d” for world is amazing
As a kid, I find Ocarina of Time the most difficult game i played. So I watched my cousin played it.
Zelda II isn’t to bad if you do 2 things. Grind for about an hour early on and level up to like 4 on life, magic, and attack. Lotsa ways to do it quick like kill the skulls in dungeon 1 for 50 xp and they respawn. Then when you go for the hammer grab the doll and use shield on every screen with the axe guys. As soon as you get the hammer you can get downward thrust and the game is very manageable until the great palace. FYI the remastered game that dropped 2 years ago is such a phenomenal upgrade. The QOL things that were added makes the game very enjoyable
Zelda 2 at number 1 is obvious.
Obviously the OG NES games would top the list. Due to the limited tech the only way to keep players invested back then was to make the games hard otherwise they would be over in like 5 minutes.
I had Zelda 2 memorized, and it still took me several hours to complete.
Zelda 2 needs a total remake so more people can actually enjoy playing it.
Ocarina ranked easier than a link to the past is wild
Thunderbird in Zelda 2 was difficult because you never knew which of his fireballs would actually damage you. A lot of them fell thru me harmlessly.
This ranking is lame! Have you played the games? Or just tell people what they expect to hear! I have played all Zelda games multiple times and from the 3D ones TOTK is definitely the hardest if you wish to-maybe no puzzle wise but combat wise for sure. Have you managed to get to the final boss without tackling any of the other bosses?! Far harder than BOTW. The game is easier if you farm but if you don’t level up armor and try to speed run, the game offers far more challenge than any other.
I have to admit: My first time with Breath of the Wild was very, VERY hard! I had more trouble with it than with most of the others, because I had to learn how to survive/get stronger... But the more I played it, the easier it got...
If Zelda 2 isn’t #1, you clearly haven’t played the game
Zelda 2 - Dark Souls of my childhood
Finally a list where Zelda 2 deserves the top spot!
I don’t think the fact that you can skip parts of BotW and TotK means they are easier games. They should be way higher on the list.
I knew Zelda 2 was going to be number before even clicking lmao that game was so cursed. I think I gave up during the thunderbird fight
Honestly, if they doubled the length of Links sword the difficulty of Zelda 2 would half.
Zelda 2 The Adventure of Link earned the top spot. That game makes anything from the Dark Souls series look like a walk in the park.
The easiest Zelda for me was the snes link to the past. I have beaten that one more times than I can even remember which really shows how much fun it is to replay. One of the, if not the absolute best Zelda game of all time!
any Zelda with a water dungeon is the hardest
A missed opportunity was mentioning the master modes from each game while most admittedly only beef up damage "Ocarina of time Master quest" was special since it changed the following:
1. Enemies Ai gets double damage output and strike faster with quicker cooldowns
2. Dungeons get revised and cryptic layouts (I'm not joking as some dungeons are impossible without help if you're coluor blind to white and grey)
3. Enemy power creeping from early to late game is much faster since you run into L1 adult game enemies as early as the first dungeon and spawn numbers are greater with areas in the dungeon that were once safe are now not
4. All bosses from the midway point onwards get their "unique" skill guaranteed to be selected at least once whereas in the base game you had to be really unlucky for bosses to select their most punishing talent move as an option.
Note. (Talent moves are unique attacks that Bosses can pick that don't allow the player to damage them in any way requiring them to be stuffed out before starting or blocked)
5. Items in chests were all moved to a new location in the dungeon and you can't entirely trust the map since there is a major bug with it in 2 of the adult dungeons where the chest indicator will tell you the correct floor but lie about the room which will leave new players potentially lost for days
6. Finally minigames and quests with timers now have stricter deadlines since the seconds tick faster.
As for the other issues in the video I am afraid on your part to put it bluntly that you're video quality control here was sloppy at best as you showed the wrong games and didn't show off the proper gameplay for newer players when the game was correct in spirt tracks
I am saying this from experience since I think you also overestimate the challenge it is to work with other people since although in terms of layout and on paper "4 swords" is an easy game. However in practice that couldn't be any further from the truth since some people even friends prefer to work against you rather than with you for their own enjoyment. Leading you to spend hours dragging their dead weight bum around.
DISCLAIMERS:
1. For all fans of their respective entries at the top I am not trying to underrate them since in their own rights they are consistently tough as nails means they don't even need a max mode for max enjoyment says it all.
2. For the creators of this video my criticism is not a personal attack on anyone it is only meant to be constructive and accurate so you know what needs fixing for the future
I beat the original when I was 11 years old, completely on my own. Never beat the second quest though.
Zelda 2>Oracle of Ages>Zelda 1>Majoras Mask>>>>>>everything else.
The puzzles in Oracle of Ages were unreal. Zelda 2 is just NES hard, difficult enemies nonstop and punishing platforming with lots of pitfalls.
I would say that ocarina of time and majora’s mask are both difficult because of the controls… especially when you play them through Nintendo Switch online
I agree Majoras Mask is harder than Ocarina of time
If you’re going for 100% yes it is.
If you take account for Zelda a link to the past that you can do the wall glitch you can beat that game in the first 5 minutes making it the most easy game of all.
Kojima was rocking the "nike presto racer x Acronym"..FIRE
Seasons and Ages should have been separate entries as Seasons is significantly easier than Ages
Breath of the wild should be something around the 13th
I’ve beaten #1 and 2 for the podcast! Let’s go!!!!
PS: The rewind feature on Nintendo Switch Online is really useful…
Zelda 2 gave me cancer. Could be be the American Spirits (dark Link green color of course) I smoke. But no, I'm pretty sure it was Zelda 2.
Hi, I began with the 3rd and I found it much more difficult than Majora's Mask, witch I found only a bit harder than OoT. Now I've heard of Zelda 2 and it's apparently the hardest.
Zelda II the hardest of all times, so far
That dancing puzzle in Oracle of Seasons or Ages (I forget which) is brutal.
Ranking WW harder than TP? TOTK and BotW I can understand, you can make those games fairly difficult to play. SS can be tough for some because of the motion controls, but WW's tedious mechanics doesn't make it "hard" by any stretch.
Kudos for giving Seasons top billing over Ages. I don't know if people realize this, but those games work on the same principle as the original Resident Evil 2.
The real black sheep was Tri-Force Heroes.
Saying that Majora's Mask is harder than the Oracle games tells me that you haven't played the Oracle games. They get absolutely brutal in end game.
As for the Spirit Tracks part... do you guys actually watch your videos before you post them?
What is that spirit tracks footage lmaoooo
Legend Of Zelda 2 The Adventures Of Link is the only Zelda game with no hearts and also the only Zelda game where the dungeon disappears after completing one.
I don't like the fact you can go straight to Ganon in ToTk. Or Breath. It's pointless in a way. idk maybe it's me lol
I beat Zelda 1 in 08. It really is as hard as they say
I have to say the hardest Zelda games for me anyway were majoras mask simply for the 3 day cycle plus you got to do so much back and fourth to get all the masks, twilight princes for the puzzles and wolf link stuff you have to do and breath of the wild fir how long it is and how time consuming stuff is
Seems like MojoPlays has a different perspective on quality of life vs difficulty
I think difficulty depends on if you are fighting or puzzletype. I hated BOTW and ToTK as I HATE fighting. I died several times in the beginning, because I'm really bad in it and I play Zelda for riddles, exploring areas and finding stuff to upgrade. So I never finished both games because I lost interest. On the other hand I found OoT and Majora's Mask easy/ very balanced because you don't have to master fighting/fighting is easy. It's all about puzzles and I'm good in this part. I loved the Biggoron Sword, because it was the perfect weapon for people who are not enjoying fights.
Links Awakening was so much easier than Skyward Sword or Twilight Princess too, if you are a Zelda Veteran. I think Skyward Sword/Twilight Princess/Wind Waker are challenging in there own ways and it depends a lot on the player's style.
I still play my copy of zelda 2 some times. I love that game!
I 100%ed Zelda SS in Hero Mode. It doesn't even come close to the base difficulty of BOTW or TOTK in my opinion.
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link was the first game I owned in the series and the first to beat as well. Yes, the game was hard and I remember using the Nintendo Power magazine to assist with the dungeons. Everything else was on me. :)
To me, Wind Waker is the easiest of the 3D games: easier than TP and a lot more than TotK. But to each their own. 🤷♂️
This video was thrown together....
Is there a glitch or something. When you showed 4 swords adventures it showed footage from regular 4 swords, and when you showed spirit tracks it showed just the map portion of the screen.
ALBW is so much better that Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks
Zelda Link's awakening on the Gameboy is one of the easiest games out there.. i don't know why people find it hard to beat.
Have to agree on Zelda 2, my least favorite Zelda game aswell
Sorry but TotK and BotW are a LOT more difficult than OoT, which is a game I have taken very short amount of time to beat, even 100%ing the game’s side content. I’m sorry but the hardest thing about OoT is the limitations of the controls and how they translated to the actions on screen. A had many different inputs, all the bosses were pretty cut and dry, the Ganondorf fight was cool but also easy… I won’t go past this point in the list for the simple fact that Skyward Sword is one of the easiest Zeldas to complete, and placing TotK and BotW, games where you can still be one shotted at full health (aside from the single heart it sometimes lets you keep to fight back) so low on the list
This list is meh...
Temple of the ocean king? Am i a joke to you?
Vaati boss with 4-5 phase?
The easiest are the Openworld ones and Links awakening with the boomerang one shot final boss...
The ds games were hard bcs their controls and Skyward sword for obivius resons.
Then come ww and TP with similar difficulties and then oracle games and Link to the past and the Hardest are Mm bcs its nonsense time limit and the Nes Games bcs the controls😅
Why do people keep ranking both of the oracles at the same spot? They aren't the same at all
That thumbnail, tho. That's Skillar's "Better Link" mod from Citra.
BotW makes it easy to be overpowered and that hearty durian grove in Faron Jungle gliding down to the Plains Hinox removed from TotK crystalizes that point for me.
TP is harder than SS. Hands down.
Seems the intern made some confusion…
TOTK is hard for the battles (most boss battles are a joke anyway) although it can be cheesed to damnation if you understand how, though the dungeons are a f***ng joke.
Ocarina and Twilight Princess has incredible dungones, challenging and beautiful but the fights are a joke.
Majoras Mask isnt hard, its just intimidating, the dungeons are great and challenging.
Twilight Princess at number 14? Is this list ranking difficulty, or mojoplays favourites?
I ask this as there is no way that twilight princess is easier than Ocarina Of Time or
Majora's Mask, those two games are the biggest hand-holders of the franchise.
NES games was brutal
brooo never that breath is more harder than totk, the bosses of breath is thooo easy, and the subs missions as well, and the mid monsters in totk is strong asf
I guess since the top 3 games are my favorites and I played them a lot as a child most if not all Zelda's are just a breeze to just chill 😂
#9 Breath of the Wild
Actual #1 Champion’s Ballad, Master Mode
Why are you only showing us maps in Spirit Tracks? Spirit Tracks is not that easy. It has bad controls.
3:13 THIS IS NOT FOUR SWORDS ADVENTURES! YOU ARE SHOWING US FOOTAGE FROM FOUR SWORDS!
The Oracle games are not harder than A Link to the Past.
Not only does this video have so many editing errors, but there are so many bad takes in this video. What the hell happen to mojo?
We need a Hard Mode in Zelda games!!!!!!
Totk and Botw are definitely harder than Ss
Wrong screen showing for Spirit Tracks = *DISLIKE*
The person/persons who made this sure as hell haven't played a single zelda game 😂
I've always played The Legend of Zelda games since Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess on Nintendo Wii my childhood's first Zelda games, Ocarina of Time and A Link Between Worlds on Nintendo 3DS, The Windwaker HD and Breath of the Wild on Nintendo Wii U, Link's Awakening Remake and Tears of the Kingdom on Nintendo Switch the hardest Zelda games for me have been Ocarina of Time and Botw, but hard dosen't always mean bad game because hard games can be good too like Ocarina of Time, Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are hard Zelda games, but the masterpieces and can't wait i'm so excited for The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom (The Legend of Link Zelda's Awakening for me because it's about playing Zelda to save Link and the same have art style like Link's Awakening Remake) and it's coming in september 26 2 days before my birthday september 28 now I know what to play in my birthday yay! 🎈🎊🎉🥳🎂🥂🎁❤️🔥
OOT harder than BOTW and TOTK?
Besides the Water Temple, OOT is cake.
Top 3 were a given, but there’s some wildly inaccurate information here. Minish cap is one of the most popular handheld Zeldas. For some it’s their favorite of all. Twilight Princess wasn’t hard, but it was NOT that easy. And all sorts of weird ideas made spirit tracks a terrible hard game. Mostly due to the system it’s on.
Also with all the ways Tears can be cheesed, it should rank at about 14
OoT harder than SS? ☠
Totally disagree....
Look how they mentioned 4 swords adventures yet they used the gba One
Did anyone got frustrated while fighting the Shadow Ganons or Queen Gibido from Tears of the Kingdom?
Either I'm one of the few who thought they were tough or I'm that bad in video games. :(
Queen gibdo is kinda challenging
Well for me those games are just fun not for challenge
Bcs nowdays i plays soulsborne and soukslike
