Just finished installing mine. Same sink from Costco too. I got the same kit to do the install and it made my life so much easier. Only difference is my dishwasher is attached to the garbage disposal, 1 extra easy step. Also, I’ve never done any plumbing work before in my life so it was a good learning moment
Just a side comment but you can buy inexpensive peel and stick floor tile and place on the cabinet floor, seal it with silicon. This way if the sink plumbing ever leaks, it will not ruin the cabinet. Just an idea for anyone for underneath sink protection. Great video gents.
Some feedback for anyone doing this themselves. I had an old tile countertop that presented a unique set of challenges. The original sink was an over mount but tile was installed over the top edges of the sink. Had to cut the tile from the top to access the sink and remove it. To do this i had to purchase an angle grinder and diamond blade. This will kick up tons of dust so prepare ahead of time. The sink clips the Kohler sink came with werent long enough...so i bought longer ones at home Depot. Those still weren't long enough. After some research you don't "need" them if your installing over the top. . This might be up for debate but with my setup it just wasn't happening. My sink didn't come with the garbage disposal drainage ...it came with a strainer. You can use your old one ...but who wants an old crusty one in their new shiny sink? So i bought one for twenty bucks. Put tape over the edges of the sink to prevent excess silicone from getting on there once you seal it. Also make sure all your pipes are in place and install as much as you can before sealing it. Last thing you want is to move the sink around after you secured it in place.
You currently have a "S trap". I would add an "AAV" on a "T" to make a "P trap" for proper ventilation and water flow. If you are in the untied states "S traps" are illegal and not to code. There are videos on UA-cam that shows you how to go from a "S trap" to a "P trap"
Thank you bro super helpful tutorial. I learned a lot but why does the P-trap drain look weird and didn’t the sink come with a basket strainer what happened to that?
Nice sink kit... (things I say that make me realize I'm officially an adult...) Also, it's nice to see the same OSHA-approved footwear that we use on our jobsites! 😆
Nice sink but glad I purchased one the the garbage disposal on the right back corner rather than the middle That location is better in the fact that putting pots in the sink won't back the garbage disposal opening.
Thanks I'm glad you like the video. The dishwasher line was untouched, so there no air gap. We went from a duo sink to a single bowl so he had to close the extra pipe line with a cap adapter. I hope that answer your question.
Great question. I simply don't want the sink to have any movements or any kind of debris to get under the sink. Plus, the silicone is waterproofing the metal sink edge, which prevents rusting. Hope that answers yours question.
pro tip: install the faucet into the sink before installing the sink. much easier.
Thank you good sir! You just saved me some trouble.

Thank you for this. I didn't even think about going from two drains to one so you saved me a much worse headache.

Super helpful tutorial. I put in the same sink the other day and this made the process easier on me. Pretty quick install.
Fantastic thank you! Glad this was helpful yay!
Thanks so much me and my dad put his in together and this made it so easy!
SUPER!!! Glad it was helpful, hope it gave confidence to the process.
Thanks for the video! It was a big help.
THAT ROCKS!! LOVE TO HEAR IT!!

Thank you so much for the insightful feedback!!
I can't even tell you how helpful your comment is going to be this weekend! Thank you!
I got the same sink, mine has two separate drains coming out of the wall? What do I do with the extra drain? Excellent video btw!! Very helpful
They got two drains coming out the wall in the video. You can block one and use the other.
Very helpful video!
Thank you
This was super helpful!
Thank I'm glad 😊
Mine doesn’t get hot water. Help
@@not.snyfle make sure your Faucet line is not twisted and check your hot valve line is release ( turn all the way to left).

😁 I told my friend that the other day lol. I'm more excited about tool and diy then gaming.
Good job fellas!!

Super helpful. How did you deal with the air gap from the dishwasher?
Thanks I'm glad you like the video. The dishwasher line was untouched, so there no air gap. We went from a duo sink to a single bowl so he had to close the extra pipe line with a cap adapter.
I hope that answer your question.
I drilled a new hole for the air gap using a step drill. Got hot, but it worked...
Will it be ideal to get rid of the airgap and just do a high loop instead? Im planning to do that on mine
You can put the clamps in after you drop it.
That nut bracket thing with the two screws on each side, what is that called, and did it come with the kit?
Yes everything thing come in the Sink kit
Where did you get those nuts/bracket to hold the faucet from under neath
It's part of the faucet kit
@Self-taught_Therapy wow mine never came with one
@@raulrobles2961 contact the manufacturer they will send you some
What about the other drain?
What are the dimensions you need to cut to fit the sink? I’m trying to figure out if my counter will fit it
What did you put on that wood countertop to give it that bright?
@rubasklein nothing really just everyday house cleaner.
The box saids top mount/undermount sink. Can it be installed as an undermount sink or does it half to be undermount?
If the box said undermount, then you can install it. You probably need sink caulking for undermount installation.
was the disposal hard to get mounted up?
Super easy to mount
Why did you decide to use silicone underneath the edge of the sink instead of plumbers putty ?
Great question. I simply don't want the sink to have any movements or any kind of debris to get under the sink. Plus, the silicone is waterproofing the metal sink edge, which prevents rusting. Hope that answers yours question.
Did the faucet have any flex once you installed it? I see someone reinforced it with a piece of plywood underneath since the metal is thin
You can reinforce with a block of wood, but the caulking and the bracket are a super strong no need for extra support.
Where do you get the kit from?
@@PaigeSegall-c7j Costco

The one I'm install right now for my friends mom didn't even come with those clamps 🙃
Good job , however that P trap is no p trap its an S trap. An S trap can suck the water down out of the trap leaving you with sewer gas.
yes that is true thanks for the comment
Hi
Can this sink also be undermounted??
No this is an overmount sink. You have to purchase the undermount sink
The one I purchased does mount either top or below. Comes with template for each and the hardware for both mounting options.
There no air gap illegal and has s trap illegal.
I don't think i have the room for the sink. I don't have 36" width.
No soap dispenser, oh no
I just bought one, watching video to install
no one talks about measuring to make sure you order the correct size sink- i have granite so i can change the opening
We had to cut the granite.
@@martindavila2232 - afraid i dont have the skills for that -
You created an S trap using to P traps, not good!
Thank you so much for your comment. You're right just did some research the P Trap is to stop gas from the main line come in to the house.
