Unless the manufacturer says so sealant isn't an optional step unless you really want to have the fun and joy of repairing or replacing the countertop.
Thanks for the video! I was actually going to get the Fenway this weekend and do the install but the Theo is only$20 more right now. I think its the same sink just 1" deeper. I am going from the hideous 2 basin sink to 1! I can't wait to install it this weekend. I am keeping my old faucet but upgrading it to a single sprayer head type whenever mine ships. It wont be here soon enough so im keeping the old one until then.
Good deal. Did the install wind up working out for you? I still really like the new style, the only problem is the single drain strainer clogs up faster since there's only 1, lol..
Excellent video. I'm about to undertake this project and I'm also going from two drains to one and my plumbing looks identical to yours underneath. I have to cut a little extra room to drop my new sink in though and this is my first time using a jigsaw so wish me luck!
@@WesleyAllenNC Whew, it was much harder than anticipated! I got about 1/3 done with the jigsaw when I was like “why is this so hard!?” Turns out it was a granite countertop, not a laminate! Ended up getting it done and it all looks nice though. Thanks!
So I need this exact thing done and have purchased the same sink and a new faucet and drain. I have watched your video multiple times with my husband and I thnk we can do this. However he had plumbers give us a quote and they are in the range of $1600. The quote says install customer supplied sink and faucet and cut and install new drainage under sink. And it's a half days work provided all is good. I know people and companies need work too but I think that is way too much. 🤔
Exactly the kind of video I was looking for, as I am removing our old dual bowl and going to a single bowl sink. I like the drop in version better than under mount. Any thoughts on which would be a better option drop in vs undermount? Any pro's on here with thoughts on that? Great job, video covered all my questions. Appreciate it. All the best!
Anyway it was just a constructive question I'm getting ready to try this by watching your video 10 times to give myself confidence. I'm switching from a stainless steel double bowl and the wife wants a deeper single bowl or Bay as you call it.. it also has a dishwasher and that's it. What is the easiest way to measure at the top your double bowl to make sure you get a replacement sink that will drop in the rectangular hole
Sorry for the late response! I just measured my existing sinks length and width and found this one at Lowes with the same measurement's. They are typically fairly standardized sizes in construction unless someone built a custom sink at some point. But there ARE slightly different sizes, so you'll just need to check your current sinks length and width.
Thank you for the amazing video. I have a question about the dishwasher vent. Mine comes out of the sink top like where I would add like a soap dispenser or something. I want a new sink and would like to get rid of vent. Do I just get that pipe and have the water just go directly into the drain?? That seems so simple like why did they need my make my vent come out of the sink haha
So I’m not an expert on these things, but my Dishwasher has a heat/steam vent that comes directly from the front of the unit itself. The pipe I installed in the video was the actual water drain for the dishwasher so that dirty water is pumped down the drain after the cycle is complete. If your dishwasher was some sort of piped or external vent, you would have a more unique situation than mine..
I wondering if you didn’t add garbage disposal ? I have double sink with garbage disposal and I wanted to use single sink but I don’t know how I can add the garbage disposal to the new single sink .
I am a retired professional firefighter and I am in no way any kind of construction worker or Home Improvement guy. I was just wondering why you did not install the sink strainer while the sink was on the floor
I suppose you could also do it that way without any issue. There's certainly nothing wrong with doing it that way. I guess for me it was just to make sure I could put some decent torque on the strainer flange without having to hold the loose sink in place.
@@WesleyAllenNC thanks for taking the time to respond. I have one more question this house I bought has a metal double bowl so when I measure to go with a single Bowl drop in how do I measure the 12 6 and 3/9 dimensions? Logic tells me to the very edge of the sink metal to the very edge on the other side. My wife's number one complaint is this single handle faucet the whole fixture seems to have a little bit of wobble and you can see the metal Flex in the steel she wants to go with something thick and rigid and a single Bowl. Of course the sink we have now is a drop-in not an under counter sink thanks for your time

Haha. Thanks for the confidence in me!
Straight to the point and super informative. My husband and I are new homeowners and replaced the sink ourselves thanks to this video!
WOW,,, straight and to the point. Only one trip to hardware store. Knew exactly what I needed. BEST VIDEO EVER.
From Stagecoach NV
This is fantastic! The best tutorial I have found. I just wish you added a garbage disposal 😂.
Hey thanks for the comment. I’m glad the video helped out!
Can you please explain how we would do it including a garbage disposal?
One of the best instructional videos I’ve seen, the perfect amount of information, thanks so much!

Thank you so much for the video. I just have a question. What if we have a dishwasher and a garbage disposal?
Very helpful!! Thank you! 😊
Your welcome! Thanks for dropping a comment 😊
I like the detail explaination

I’m no plumber, but that does seem like a very high quote. But then again I really don’t know what it would cost on average to have a sink installed..
Yes that is crazy high! I got several quotes for the exact same job and they were all under $500!

Great video! Im not sure if Chewy was too happy to hear more baths for him 😂
Yeah he didn’t look very thrilled!
Thank you so much for your help 🙏🏼💪🏼
Your welcome. I’m glad the video helped out!
Great explanation
Glad you think so!
Great informative video, thank you
Hey, your welcome!
very informative.. Thank you..
I feel like a lot of people don’t have a garbage disposal? Is it more complicated with one
It’s slightly more complicated only in the fact that you have to plumb and plug in the disposal. Shouldn’t be too terribly difficult to do
Thank you for the amazing video. I have a question about the dishwasher vent. Mine comes out of the sink top like where I would add like a soap dispenser or something. Hey, you’re welcome!
6:06 what sealant can I use to make sure no water can penetrate underneath it? Or do I just use a caulk? Is there a specific one I should be using?

how would you add a garbage disposal to this
9:05 good video. But it would have helped to show disposal installation.
Thanks. I would, but we have a septic tank so I toss all my scraps instead
