You should put a tensioner like yours on your website for sale such as it seems to be popular of individuals loving it and yet they don't have one. The Ali Clarkson tensioner 😀👍. Awesome bike too. I hope you have amazing times ahead with it!
Hey Ali Clarkson! I am well glad to hear your knee is healing well! I love the color of your new trials ride! I also got a new ebike that has enabled me to overcome the limitations my chronic back pain had put on my MTB riding! I can ride like I did at 30 years old and I'm 57! I got a 2019 bulls monster e fs which is a Bosch cx powered full suspension fat tire Ebike! Ride ride ride!
Kenda small block 8 26 x 2.35 are the best tires ever made. They wear out very fast, and are easy to puncture, but they feel incredibly good! Very bouncy
Bike is looking awesome Ali! I think there is barely anything that can get better with these new 2020 bikes. Just crazy how much they evolved in the last few years. Also thanks for showing off the Mt trail setup with the swapped calipers last year. I’ve recently done the same with the Mt trail Sport Version and it’s a really nice combo. Keep it up 👍🏻
The Chris King rear hub spline drive is unique in the industry. Their hubs are the only one that will take high torque loads of tandems without failing. The only other hub that can boast same is the Rohloff. Anything else is prone to failure. As someone who's split one Phil Wood in half and gone through three Hugi hubs, I can really appreciate Chris King.
I always thought trials bikes were way lighter somehow 🤔, however, really good looking, love the blue. I just got myself a new crankset and you are making me nervous with that axle breaking talk, dang. Managed to snap a pedal off once, not the nicest feeling 😓
@@Ali_Clarkson oh thats good. i remember back when only the fourplay had it, but inspired refused to put them on the hex. even my alibongo had disk mounts back then
Hi Ali, can you go into a bit more detail about your Shigura setup? I have a set of MT7s I ended up swapping to XTR because of similar issues you had (wobbly levers, noisy, clearance issues, etc). Loved the power, but just got fed up with the issues i was having. After watching one of your previous bike checks with the Shigura brake setup and now this one, I wanted to see if I could give it a try myself. What hoses and parts are you using to connect the levers to the calipers? Also, which mineral oil are you running -- Shimano, Magura, or something else? Thanks for any info!
Enjoying your channel. This might be an uneducated question. But i'm interest in why the bikes use disks rather than the maguera style rim brakes? what's the best for a beginner, street/trials rider. I've a content idea for you; not sure if you've made a video about it already, but a video showing the difference between trials and street riding / bikes would be interesting to someone like me. I'm a mtb 'er ( enduro/xc) but never tried trials or street. i'm very interest to try one of these forms of biking 'trials' of 'street' , not sure which to try ( which bike to get to learn some basic moves). i'm also in my 40's ! so looking for the one which would be less damaging !! which one is more fun to learn. Also i'm riding a mega tower 29'r so learning manuals is a little challenging so figured getting a trials or street 26 or 24? might be a good way to learn that and other new skills i could then adapt to my mtb 29.
Im not a trials guy but love your channel only startes watching it last week and the bike is well out of my price range looks epic though and im enjoy your content keep it up 👍
Super nice bike, I was wondering why you chose the crank length. Isn’t it possible to run longer ones and get better leverage or why did you chose the length you chose.
Very nice setup Ali! How did you manage to fit a single speed Chris King hub with the new 2020 135x12 mm thru-axle? I am planning to drill the bolt-on thread on mine to allow for the 12 mm axle to fit. Yet, as these hubs have been discontinued and are quite scarce now, any advice is welcome...
Can you make me a chain tensioner? Same exact as you have? I’ll pay for it of course, I have the Inspired team and I haven’t found a tensioner I actually like. I’d love to have this one Alistair!
No cable stop/mount for the front brake hose to neatly clear the front tyre? Hrm... Otherwise looks great! Maybe look at Race Face for cranks? SRAM GXP cranks have a very questionable bottom bracket arrangement , where all lateral loads are placed on the NDS bearing in both directions, and/or have questionable tolerances that don't help this.
Would suggest you fitted a sealed drive so you never needed to lube your chain again, but not really needed, but your Trials Trail bike on the other hand, well think every time you lube your chain that you could not need to do that!
@@Ali_Clarkson What about your Trials Trail bike, I have a design that would allow you to run an Enduro bike all winter without lubing the chain, I would challenge you to do that!

This is about the most detailed and professional bike check I've seen. Great stuff!
Thanks for the Suguru tip on the blades Ali. I am sitting here right now with a scratched up middle finger as I type from the lever cut. Lol

loving that welding
I was going to mention that too :)
Ali, Thanks for the detailed bike check! Love the blue and red. I will be watching for the Christmas merch and the next riding video!
There are TL Repair Kits fitting into the hollow Crank Axle so it becomes invisible and not neccessary to be attached to the frame :-)

I hate cutting my fingers with the brake levers. My solution was move them inboard as far as they go, so there is no overlap on the other fingers.
Your walkthroughs are so great to watch.
Gorgeous bike that! Look forward to seeing it in future videos. Get well soon and have a great Christmas!

Nice Video Ali 😀

165 cranks? Seems shorter than usual? I usually opt for 170. Why the shorter cranks? Smaller movements I assume? Maybe easier to balance?
Try shorter cranks, is way to go! But once you get used to them you will realize they are better for punchy moves!
Very cool.
i feel like some people would call this colour blurple on video ... blue with hints of purple on camera

So you're filling your Shiguras with mineral oil or DOT now?
Mineral oil, both shimano and Magura are mineral oil brakes so DOT would kill them
