As someone eho quit Amazon this past may, I don’t blame them. I got written up for being 2 mins over my 15 min break, they have mandatory over time days, the 10-12 hours shifts are brutal, the numbers you’re expected to hit each hour is crazy and then you add that on top of peak season (the holidays) it’s crazy
@Yummy Spaghetti Noodles 2mins... you're not serious though, right?
@Yummy Spaghetti Noodles He could take two minutes extra on his break for all breaks for an entire career there
And it still wouldn't cover the cost of training another person to do the job lmao
I understand personal responsibility and accountability
But two minutes is an understandable rounding error on the balance sheets, if nothing else
Five minutes, yes, that would be cause for write ups at the very least
No one likes a letter of the law Nazi. People work less hard for them
@Yummy Spaghetti Noodles Time is only money to the superficially shallow humans.
Man that's rough. My wife walked out of the Amz orientation when they said you can't take a bathroom break during the orientation. I can tell you the online seller support departments are basically paid to do nothing. They just close support tickets without reading things, copy and paste. If you can somehow get that gig its sweet. Downside is you might need to move to India though.
I was about to say the same thing that I don’t blame them I hate that petty ass job but I mess with them benefits
why are corporations so against the workers?
it’s almost as if corporate executives believe they are more deserving of a good life
Corporations were always like this. They're especially evil in America because they tricked the average American into thinking that they are benevolent "job creators."
They convinced Americans that getting rid of unions would mean better wages for all workers instead of just the corporate heads. Ooops! You live, you learn, Americans.
We have laws in the country to protect workers. If that is not enough vote to change the law. Corporations duty are to share holder, and how much they should pay is determined by the labor markets.
They exist to eat everything around them! Stupid people support them so it makes it super easy!
It’s important to keep the working class in their place. And create a structure in which they have little to no free time.
Corporations like Amazon flourishes in countries that have weak labor laws
it isn’t just retail or low-skilled workers who are underpaid, WE ALL ARE. regardless of what you do for a living in the united states, unless you are self-employed you are being UNDERPAID and OVERWORKED.
For a company like Walmart for example who generates $1 trillion in revenue. I don’t think it’s a lot to ask that they provide better pay and benefits to their employees. Forming corporate partnerships with colleges and universities for tuition rate reductions, developers or community leaders to reduce rates for housing, etc. If an American works full-time they should at least not be homeless or sleeping in their car
Exactly!!
@@factsdc3719 yes, i agree. but the general public discourse is that minimum-wagers are the only ones who should get higher pay, when in fact ALL of us are grossly underpaid in this country. there are teachers who are eligible for food stamps. we need to broaden the discussion in order to make meaningful changes to what is in fact a slavery-model economic system
I mean if you look at the comments. Most people don’t understand class division and how the 1% uses that to keep us at each other instead of United for better benefits and pay. Americans sadly love “peasant mentality”. They love throwing themselves at people with wealth and land. It’s something that needs to change.
@@Mourningwood95 I agree with that. I’m not a right or a lefty. If you work and pay taxes you should be able to eat. That’s it.
I work at Amazon. Let me tell you it is NON STOP during peak. We get 2 30 min breaks and during peaks 11 1/2 hour days during peak our workload is insane! If you can't keep up they will fire you without batting an eyelash. At Amazon, you are a number and that is all.
I have nothing but respect for Amazon workers. Everyone I have met works their ass off, just seems the company doesn’t reciprocate by appreciating and recognizing their teams.
Then they can leave! If Amazon pays them more then prices are coming up for Consumers!! And thus we have MORE Inflation!!!
This is what inflation is. Paying more for the same goods and services that use to cost you less. They all agreed to work for a price, and now the want more money for doing the same job they were doing for less?
Oh you mean kind of like every place that people work
@Yummy Spaghetti Noodles and you didn’t like it and so you left. There is NO Need to Protest. The best Protest is Quitting!
Uhh...most companies are like that. Haven't you heard? Amazon plans to lay off 10k workers. What's there to appreciate when we're all disposable and only profits and performance matter at the end of the day. 🤷♀️
You are 100% correct
Amazon warehouse was my last and hardest job back in 2017 when I retired at 62 years of age. I worked there for two years and left with a torn tendon in my left shoulder that took 8 months to heal. This news means that my order may arrive late if at all.
Why didn't you report it and get on work. and comp when you were there?
If you haven't worked during prime season at Amazon, you don't know what true exhaustion is. Thankfully I was a gatekeeper for most of prime.
@Yummy Spaghetti Noodles No thanks. But respect to all that sign up for that 🦾
I'm guilty of buying stuff on Amazon this Black Friday, but I don't mind having those orders cancelled if it means that the warehouse workers get what they demand.
Amazon is fine. Don’t feel bad. Get those deals
I’m a warehouse Amazon associate myself
Guilty of what? Being a customer? You're not going to change anything by cancelling your little items when they already have millions of other orders to fulfill

Woooo!! About time ❤ we don’t see our families for 2 months straight due to over time days and extended hours. We are physically and emotionally drained so that the customers can be with their families during the holidays. This even leads into the new year as well. And only if we have enough time saved up can we take a day off of this rigorous schedule. We don’t even get bonuses during the holidays unless the entire facility hits rates. And if any department is lacking by the end of peak we do not even get a bonus for all that hard work. If we are lucky enough to get a bonus, we only get $200 for which they advertise it to be more but once taxes hit the most we get is $200. We NEED to all be unionized and/or change the peak scheduling.

Worked there for 6 months this year. It was horrible. Worst job I’ve ever had. Very depressing. “Stowing” is the most tedious, horrifying, and mind numbing task I’ve ever done at any job, ever. I’d get knots in stomach just walking up to the board to see where I’m being stationed at. There was nothing I enjoyed doing there. Stayed for the rent and bill money but glad I left.
I'm glad you got out of there!
I’ve worked for Amazon for almost a year and a half and I haven’t heard a single thing about this lol
It honestly depends what level of associate you are, and your warehouse. If you’re a level 1 associate you’re just doing what you gotta do and only get talked to if you’re in trouble. Now anything above a level 1 is management etc and it just kinda depends and warehouse and the politics
What it comes down to is that Amazon can be a physically demanding job and a lot of people don’t want to do that. Amazon has so many opportunities, benefits. Etc
We all just got a raise. Granted, it wasn’t to much but it was a raise and I’m getting my school paid for by Amazon so …
Take that as you will :)
Everything at Amazon is tracked. Performance, time off task, everything
Not gonna lie tho.. the bathrooms usually are far AF but I’m also in a 12 + year old manual warehouse with 3 floors on each side lol
Also, I live in Phoenix AZ if that gives any kind of idea… so I’m kinda surprised that I haven’t heard about this
No surprise.
👏👏👏 Good may God bless them they will get through this just fine without working a hopefully very very short time and shame shame on Amazon I’ve quit ordering completely until they reach some kind of deal
Good to see that Amazon workers are taking action now. The AMZ stock has not been doing well; and the workers are working hard. Yes, Amazon should pay their employees and partners fairly.
It’s a low skill job… I did it for a few weeks. The only skill you have to have is patience. Low skill jobs will never be paid good wages.
Low skilled workers should starve to death, mirite?
@@LetMeEatDem is not being able to urinate all day a skill?.... if so they should be compensated for it.... Jeff wants robots.... unfortunately for him he still has humans.... once he has robots I'm sure he'll bitch about maintenance and upkeep on those as well....

@@christophermccord3316 I worked in the warehouse and was allowed to urinate as I please. If your someone that has to constantly pee, it’s not the job for you And that’s ok.
Nobody is forcing them to work at Amazon. If they don't like the work, they should go work somewhere else. Welcome to the adult world.
There has never been a better time than this to form a Union Workers need to get smart and have a backbone and not give in to these multi billion dollar companies.Go UNION STRONG.
I worked at a grocer with a union and it made my life miserable then "lost" about $18 million of union pension funds. But hey they said sorry so it's all good.
Take that communist bull crap to China
Yep, all these tech companies exploiting their workers is why you see the resurgence of unions. Meanwhile ol Bezo’s is buying his 40th Yacht.
@@crispinfornoff206 Very well rounded argument with good points. “Union bad, me say so”. It’s interesting that union members are paid an average of 35% more then non union workers and over 90% of the time have better benefits as well. Is that a coincidence? Just really good luck?
meanwhile at the UAW our pay and medical goes down while our president is raided with millions in cash in their homes. They aren't as glamorous as you think. Just another step in the process equally as corrupt as the previous. They are a safe haven for racism, discrimination and any other foul characteristic you can think of, in the union itself and the people they protect.
Suggesting unions are the answer, is like saying you are proud to be ignorant. The union is not the answer to a problem created by a broken system. If the system is fixed and people are taken care of there is no jobs for the unions, no more multi million dollar homes, no more 250k vacations .
My nephew quit after Amazon deducted $100 a week because my nephew spent 10 minutes in the bathroom. After a mont of Amazon stealing $400 from my nephew he quit. What Amazon did was illegal. I was hoping my nephew would file a complaint with the Labor Department but he just wanted to move on with his life. Avoid working with Amazon otherwise you’ll suffer financially, physically and emotionally.
Was it really 10 min tho?? Or 30min ?? I wish my job would do this for those lazy workers
It is not illegal.
@@deeznutz1098 Most of these people are on the phone in the bathroom and not on break!!!🙄
That sounds like being in public school because god forbid you’re in the bathroom more than 5 minutes. It’s unacceptable to get less pay for using the bathroom.

1. $15.00 an hr starting pay
2. Only guaranteed 3 1/2 hrs of work per day
3. 12 months before you qualify for health insurance
4. No climate control here! Warehouse is in excess of 100 degrees in summer, the trailers for loading/unloading are substantially hotter.
5. The building/hub is filthy. Not cleaned by professionals but by hourly employees, who may or may not do their job. The ONLY time the building is clean is when there's an audit or upper management comes to *visit*
6. Scanning equipment, tools needed to work safely and management that actually cares for your safety are scarce to non existent in some departments.
7. Environment is a breeding ground for sexual harassment and bullying, Human Reource is not on site, so literally there is Zero protection. When Human Resource was available in years past, no issues were ever addressed appropriately, treated with complete disregard.
I've noticed Amazon employees get alot of attention for what they perceive as an awful company to work for, that is their right. However, it would be a rude awakening for them to come work for UPS Ontario, California hub. They'd be begging for their Amazon wage and environment back....
