I went to Walmart this morning, and I was expecting a lot of people, but for my surprise it was almost dead, pallets full of electronics and nobody really cares about the "deals"
I think COVID woke up a lot of people to realize what the priorities are, and furthermore with high fuel/oil prices and consumer inflation, people are simply getting what they need, not what they want.
@@ingothitrust5248 I think the government restrictions put people out of work, out of business and don't have money for frivolous shopping.
You’re all wrong. Walmart had legit the same prices on almost everything that they usually stock. No deals in store. My store was packed at 5AM, turns out all the deals were online.
I go to the physical store to check out the product before black friday then purchase it online. I think we should close on thanksgiving and black friday to give employees time with their family and friends.
And eventually by making thanksgiving less important we can essentially make it a work day instead to benefit the economy.
The fact that they try to hype it up every year is ridiculous
Buy buy buy
John Carpenters they live.
Consume!
Their bills are paid by these companies
It’s the best thing ever. Sad it’s changed so much so fast
Plus people are broke, it's not just online sales.
I bought my “Black Friday sale” two weeks before Black Friday. It’s safer, no crowd, and you got many options on their website
I don't think Black Friday is dead I think it's getting more safer with technology people are realizing that they can shop online get free shipping and make it a more easier process than spending the night outside of a parking lot and then dealing with the crowds being violent and all of that so I'm actually kind of glad to see this new change because if it's a lot more safer for people cuz your life is not worth losing over a flat screen TV
But not Pennsylvania.
Online is was worse than in store promotions
@visioncorp5228 I much rather get a slightly less discount and not have to deal with crowds and waste my time
Not enough money with fuel prices and food costs; many in the Northeast have foregone for the holidays which are unnecessary compared to food and getting to work.
There's no such thing as black friday or cyber monday anymore...
All the shopping deals are available weeks in advance... and has taken the charm away from waiting in line on a black Friday morning
Now if gas was 99. A gallon and premium for 1.29 a gallon and groceries at 1999 prices ohh, then I’d be moving for those sales.
Bidenflation
Instead of one single day, now people can shop the whole week! It’s great for everyone. The shoppers can go to multiple stores over the week
Nah. Way worse. You’ll never see Black Friday prices again.
The “deals” aren’t even deals anymore literally I saved absolutely nothing buying gym equipment from Amazon. 💀🙄kinda a shame even went to target and Ulta there are no discounts worth anything it’s literally no different than any other day of the year Fr lmao.
Was searching for a comment like this: Black Friday deals are supposed to be deals that companies can only afford to provide one, maybe two days (Cyber Monday) a year. This is the reason why people used to camp outside and pitch tents in the mall parking lots. This "Black Friday Week/Month" is the reason why all the sales are so low/dead and comapnies are trying to convince us that this is better..
Keeping you uninformed and misinformed.
I hope because Black Friday is crazy and people are dumb and it’s sad that after thanksgiving people go right back to the normal greed
Businesses must be open on Black Friday. Maximum profit is the most important.
@@drakecarter1780 Family / friend , joyfulness , is the most important because some day they will be gone forever in this life or vise versa I be the one dead and I will remember them than buying all sorts of crap or working on that day ……. You only have so much time on this planet so make it good ( bloody addict consumer ).
Yeah I always said this. Only in America does everyone get together one night a year to tell each other how thankful they are for what they have. Then they all stampede out at 5am the next morning to fight over getting more stuff.....
Cry
More like black Friday week. Everywhere you go are sales..
GROCERIES SHOULD HAVE BLACK FRIDAY SALE INSTEAD
Traditional Black Friday IS dead. Walmart was empty. Mall was empty. Very ho-hum with no deep discounts. Hardly worth going. Sad.
I have a 55 inch Vizio TV in a small 6 foot by 8 foot bedroom I got two black Fridays ago. I ordered spare parts when people sold their parts after cracking there TV screen. You would be surprised how many get parted out. I have been repairing my own TVs since I was 12 years old.
Who cares?
that's is theater size proportions ...kudos on the repairs !
Black friday kina turned into cyber friday.
My local outlet mall was packed! Nike, adidas, puma, under armor had huge 50% discount 🎉
That’s awesome!!!
The issue with Black Friday is the product content. It is often not regular stock but a specially prepared and priced shipper that the store only carries one time. They sell off what they can and either send back or dump the rest. The retail shopper is starting to catch on to these deal shortcuts.
Lies again? Nashville Dallas Black Red
Thank you for reporting about "Black Friday"
I shall not forget the old days of waiting in line
They should revert it back to in store only deals to bring back the experience
I get better deals online and it's safer. No one wants to go out in a people packed area just to end up in a mass shooting. You couldn't give me a million dollars to set foot in Walmart. The weekend after Thanksgiving, most stores still have the Black Friday deals.
the idea of an in-person black friday is stupid to begin with. I dont know why anyone in their right mind would get out of bed early after thanksgiving to get the same deal you would get online. I hope one day this tradition ends
This black Friday stuff been going on alll month I'm so over this mess 😒
Black friday is dead thanks to the early black friday sales. You can literally go to the stores on black friday and it will feel like a normal day with no people waiting in line.
Thank God. To me as an American it was very embarrassing.
I wonder how long before people start saying that Black Friday is racist?
Ya, same as White Christmas...
It actually has more to do with market manipulation and inside trading by exploiting suburban white neighborhoods. So in a way, it's racist. Just not what you were expecting.
The whole story about slaves being on discount in the 1800's before winter is a hoax.
Isn't everything racist now? Does racist have any meaning?
@@tylere.8436 When you live in a country built on racism....
So holiday spending is up 6% from last year, and thats lower than inflation. So really, people are spending less.
Black Friday: Cabbage Patch Kids, Transformers, Barbie's, Big Screen TV's, and a host of other items that you could maybe get lucky and snag one, were some of the drivers of BF. Now you get deals all year long and TV's esp. are so cheap that there is no way to discount them to attract hordes of people. I never went out when BF was in full swing, but I've gone out the last 3-4 years and it's deadsville at the mall anymore. The internet has hastened the demise of BF, and it doesn't look like it will ever come back like it once was.
So this is a commercial for REI? Got it. 😂
YES!
I went khols today ,( for clothes for my husband up coming surgery)and Christmas is out in full force including the Christmas music,we haven't even got to Halloween,it's sad,it's all about money nothing about family and holidas and what's sad everything is coming from different countries.
No more shopping in store i did all my black Friday on line avoid crowd's!!!
me to less chance of being rob
forget about it, wait until late Jan get it cheaper, just a big con
sales are not really up 6% this year if you are comparing it to last year when people still recovering from income problems due to pandemic. I am curious what the sale numbers were on a the "Black Friday" before Covid exited. Thoughts???
The target I at was pretty busy today we had a lot people in the store today it was dead then when it hit 12 it crowded. Guess some store a lot people don’t care for like Best Buy they probably don’t go too Best Buy no more…
Of course the Rakuten lady will never say BF is dead, she will be fired that day for saying that.
In a world of consumerism, we will actually see drop in sales. The slow down is happening.
They have sales every week so why does it matter
It is so crazy! I never heard of shopping on black friday week. I only know the internet shopping. Staying home with my candle light on and order and pay on my phone. I never knew people wasted their time and lifes to get out there standing in rows.
I don't do Black Friday and I have never shopped online and I don't plan on it I've always said if I can't get it local I don't need it
RIP Black Friday
I shopped with my smart phone where it is safe and safe.
Standing in line, in the dark is now a sketchy practice, shooting & robberies, no thanks. Economy in the tank another thanks go out to Jotato "I did that" moment.
I just didnt have any money. I was flat broke.
We are disgusting.
I stayed home because major stores are closed late night
Change to Sale Friday
CBS MORNINGS IS AMAZING THANK YOU FOR ALWAYS KEEPING US INFORMED
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
ya gas price and parking space time to go
Support your local record store. ❤️⏺️
It's not 2010 it's 2022 😒
I really hated Black Friday because I don’t like those people that are being nasty and rude.
Why is it called Black friday? And not purple Friday yellow Friday red Friday white Friday Brown Friday green Friday
Alexa says: "THE SHOPPING TERM dates from the 1960s and was originally used with reference to congestion created by shoppers. It was later explained as a day when retailers’ accounts went from being “in the red” to “in the black”. Oh and all of your purchases and conversations are being recorded. Have a Nice Day."
It was so boring! All online
It’s as dead as blockbuster rental movies and 99cent whoopers
15% savings and gas is $5 gallon.....no maam
How many tvs or phones do people need. I think its dead because with all the skip ads and streaming people done over the years. We as consumers are not placed in front of commercials as we were before. I cant stand any type of ad anymore
wit inflation and recession coming, people dont wanna spend so much this year considering they may be jobless and homeless next year
Thanksgiving special
Black Friday was trash
Customers want deals NOW. Not on Friday. NOW!
Lol companies should be open not closed.
Does “black” Friday hold the same “power” as in the past
I see where you are going with that!
Google's "Buy (only) Black (businesses) Friday!" is the most racist thing ever. I commented that on their page and my comment vanished the moment I logged out. They call that 'soft censorship'. Well, thats Constitutional of them lol.
It’s been dead for a few years. Online shopping will put these businesses under.
64% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. Raise the minimum wage, get money in low/middle class wallets, and you will find your sales targets. People want to buy stuff, they just can't afford to buy it.
I to wish we could go back to those halcyon days when people trampled and murdered each other over Christmas gifts. Or watched daytime public access TV for their news.
Times change I guess.
W💜W
It's dead
Hey Black Friday Racist!!!!
All Actors from the shoppers to you fake news anchors
LoL @ 1:01 when she made a scene out of NOTHING. Typical of her kind
People who go out on Black Friday and risk their lives to save a few bucks are blithering idiots. I feel bad for the poor employees forced to risk being trampled just so the company can make some money.
Black Fridays life matters!
The Jews no that also
