@@6688ya No he probably didn't want to give her her fair share either, like he doesn't want to adequately compensate the workers who MAKE HIS BUSINESS SUCCESSFUL FOR HIM.
Are you still at Amazon? If so, why haven't you quit! Go work at McDonald's if you have to! Just get out of there first and get anything else you can get!
Yeah I worked here and this report is on the money. No matter how hard you work they have someone come find you and tell you how you're going to slow or making too many mistakes. You're literally running around this huge warehouse with up to three floors. I have done about four different positions from picking to boxing outgoing packages and all the goals are near impossible. Took forever to get to the bathroom and break rooms, so that cut into break and lunch time. Ten hour minimum shifts as well. Need I say more.
THEKINGOFBAKERSFIELD really because I’ve worked for Amazon going on four year and I’ve never had that anyone tell me that. There isn’t a department I don’t know and I’ve never had anything bad said about my performance.
Authentic Venom it’s not in the beginning because your still learning your way around and getting Familiar with the products. But never be afraid to ask questions and always call a problem solver when needed. You should be great. Good luck
@Joel, Clearly you never experienced GREAT community stores in the U.S., where we had family businesses who we could trust, everything was made in this country, people had good incomes, and the businesses didn't use totally FAKE ratings of their cheap and toxic made in china CRAP, like Amazon has been caught doing. I read Nomadland, the book that exposes Amazon. It's one of the devils. I boycott Amazon for all the evil it's done to this country. You may be ignorant because you didn't live before Amazon destroyed communities by destroying good businesses and good jobs.
I agree. If workers are treated badly, productivity suffers. It doesn't make sense. It cost the company money everytime they hire new employees. Also, more accidents will occur when employees are overworked and the overall result will be a lawsuit.
I'm an Amazon delivery driver, I get $160 a day, but the amount of stress and work I do doesn't make it worthwhile. Amazon is going to hit the wall soon, and I hope they do. I take no breaks and have to urinate in a bottle so I can get all 300 packages delivered before it gets dark, horrible Company. I'm simply sticking around until I find a better job. I will never buy from Amazon
It is a complete joke isn't it? It is 2021 and these companies are still acting like it is in the Victorian times. What happened to the marvellous future we were all promised, how working conditions were going to be transformed and we were going to have more leisure? We were definitely promised a pig in a poke!
I make 19 an hour starting wage at Amazon and no one urinates in bottles. That's a lie. As a picker, I think the job is decent for what it is. It's a retail job, where people work while going to college, or work in the meantime to pay off bills or eventually move up, its a lower end job, what do you expect you're not working for frickin Microsoft. People love to complain and when they screw up and get fired, they talk down on the company instead of being grateful for what they have. We are never discouraged to not take bathroom breaks. The rate that is expected at our facility isn't beyond the average person, I can take 10 bathroom breaks and still meet the required times.

Thank you for bringing this up Josie! It's such an important point. I agree, the lack of voter turnout in the U.S. (or voter apathy) is the root cause of so many of our country's issues right now. It is estimated that the 2016 election had a 55.5% voter turnout. This works out to an estimated 100-111 million eligible voters who did NOT vote! A government of the people, for the people, by the people only works when we all participate in the entire voting process (including primaries). Thanks again for pointing this out!
Preamble is not law! Liberals may not like it, but the idea of "corporations" goes back nearly 2000 years to Roman times... and are in fact people, gathering together in trade! You can make yourself into a corporation any time you want!
I used to clean shit off of walls as a janitor, worked in fast food, worked sorting garbage, and Amazon is still the worst place I’ve ever worked. Smh 🤦♀️
I was a Guest Room Attendant(fancy name for housekeeper) and I plan to be back in that soon because Amazon is way too much work per pay for the industry.
Joseph Parker I like that “ 🤔 “guest room attendant “ and yea the work itself isn’t bad if u go at ur own pace it’s just the management and the need to make quota and not have real breaks and freedom to use the bathroom, drink water, grab food for blood sugar etc...an there is no ac but that’s most warehouses. If ppl just did the work and went home it would be fine......
Low security prison is the best description of Amazon fulfillment center I've ever heard. Hopefully change can come for the people stuck working there.
I may be the only person to say and do this but I'm terminating my Amazon prime and going back to regular stores. I cannot knowingly support modern day slavery 🤔
If people won't rebel against unfair conditions, that's their fault. Not shopping at Amazon because you saw a little video like this means absolutely nothing. Millions of people will. Amazon is the only place I can order Innertubes for my scooter. The service on Amazon has always been damn excellent too. Of course I would never work there.
Because the average person either doesn't know, or considers the one-day free shipping to be worth the suffering. And there will always be right-wingers defending sweatshop conditions.
Well, not allowed to take bathroom breaks and pissing in a cup then going back and touching the merchandise being sent out. Now that is nasty in so many ways and I'm surprised a class lawsuit have not been filed against Amazon!.
So glad I have a job as a dock worker in trucking. We are busy and we take bathroom breaks whenever we want to . Middle management must be a real pleasure to deal with !
Gnome Chompsky so true!! I feel that they like that label to make us feel better about ourselves. Oh btw during peak it’s either 5 days/12 hour shifts or 6 day/ 10hr shifts
643 178 I got past the common first few weeks of body pain and YES!!! peak is the worst 🙄 my eyes burned so bad from the lack of sleep and yes those 12 hrs are brutal. I say even on my brokest day I would never go back to Amazon. I swear it gave me PTSD, no joke. Smh, so bad. Everything in this video is pretty accurate. The only good thing working there is you meet all kids of people from all different backgrounds. Everyone has a story.
They literally only have 2 bathroom locations and they are located in areas that take forever to get to for those who are counted on production.i think they did that on purpose so people wouldn’t go since it takes time and it would affect your production
I have 4hr shifts broken up. I simply use the bathroom before going into work. Work 4 hr. Then use the bathroom after. Being in customer service its not that hard to go a couple of hours without using the bathroom. I like my schedule. 4 hr at a time is nice. Even my double.. I get 1.5hr break in between the 4 hours. Guess I worked at the right one and got lucky
@@The1707regina If you don't drink water to hydrate your body, you really don't need to go to the bathroom. But dehydration will cause serious health problems in the future

I been working there for over 4 months now. At a delivery station. They don't care about you at all. Im still there cause of the workers I met there. Homies are really chill so I ge through it with them
"If there is anyone you don't like who needs a job tell them that Amazon is hiring." Wow! Let's just say that that is not the most ringing endorsement that I have ever heard in favor of someone getting a job at Amazon.

They should give those who have been in the company two years or more at least $18. Nothing makes me more upset then having someone walk into these facilities having NO EXPERIENCE AT ALL and being paid the same amount as those who have been in this facility the longest. Jeff Bezos needs to focus on his employees more then his wallet.
On the east coast. After two years you hit 18.15 an hour. It's just the weight of the items that make people slow down in their rate. They're lifting more than 30lb between dog food and cat litter alone. They say team lift ,but there is no team lift trying to hit the rate.
I’m a picker at amazon and our expected hourly rate is 450 an hour. It’s literally impossible to keep up with that all day. I can do it for small amounts at a time but not all day
I am working at stow and I am pregnant. Recently transferred from outbound packing. I felt regret since the first day. Inbound is terrible, worst job I’ve every worked in my life. They keep complaining me about quality errors. And I got 3 writes up after 3 months of working there. Almost get fire. Horrible place is inbound
Anyone who work in a warehouse should understand, gain experience then go find something better. No one should make a career out of picking and packing.
But aren't other companies like Apple and Nike doing the same thing overseas with their employees but worse? Now its not okay because it's being done on US soil?
I was so desperate for a job that I accepted some seasonal work at an Amazon fulfilment centre. I knew how bad the conditions were, but I accepted it anyway. Then later that week before I was due to start, I got a call from another recruitment agency offering me a much better job where I don’t have to work nights, I’m local, I can alternate between sitting and standing, I’m working a maximum of 8 hours in a single shift, and the work is ongoing. I really dodged a bullet there! And everyone is nice where I work!
I worked for amazon in Colombia South Carolina as a stower. Unless you have worked for amazon you can never understand how horrible the working conditions are in there. Everything this man is telling you is 100% fact! I have horror stories of this place. I ended up fired because I was bitten by something and went into anaphylactic shock on the 3rd floor. And ambulance was called to get me and a sherlock was in the clinic telling me if I left I am fired. Suing isn't an option because I can't afford lawyers to take on their million dollar retained lawyers. Boycott the company!
Uh, mate, call some lawyers, get a free consultation, they usually do the case for a percentage won. Seriously, do it. Quickly before the statute of limitations are up. And don't play nice, take them to the cleaners. Not legal advice just personal
They probably fired you to avoid liability. They’re notoriously known for insinuating that any injury inflicted is the victim’s fault-at my facility, at the very least.
I worked at amazon warehouse for 3 weeks in California and he is right. You couldn’t run, they would inspect your number of packages per hour and if you was below 60 they would shame you and they discourage bathroom breaks.
@shiestjoo - you are a freakin fool or simply inexperienced ...Clearly you have not learned anything in life ....if people could just quit and walk away ..we would not have any poor people on earth. Most people can just quick silver spoon boy
My daughter worked for Amazon and she got a ten minute break in ten hours. She couldn’t eat or pee. After three months of torture she quit. Nothing is worth dying over. This place is a sweat shop. Very disappointed on how they treat people but more disgusted on how this low life company treated my daughter. More investigation should continue on this place.
I make 18.10 at Amazon but the work conditions are terrible the way the treat employees is disgusting. They don't care about employees at all but i will say they care about their customers. Every speech they give before you work is about customer obsession. I signed on to work 40 hours and been working 60 mandatory for the past few weeks hours was changed without notice. My days was supposed to be 5pm to 4 am sun to weds with my over time day being friday when needed. They changed it to 5pm to 6am plus i find out about the over time day being enforced at the last minute when I was told 48 hour notice would be given. Of course they didn't adjust their joke of a break when they changed the hours
yes people during nov-dec you will be working 60 hour weeks and it sucks. its peak season you are warned in advance. but noone is forcing you to be there and the checks are more than worth it on top of the bonus holiday pay you get. free 8 hours for thanksgiving/christmas and new years. had off christmas and late start for thanksgiving shift. why do people go to amazon and then complain about working in a warehouse what did you think it was gonna be like. it takes zero skill or experience to get a decent paying job with amazing benefits ON THE SPOT. all you gotta do is pass the drug test. ive worked at multiple amazons and multiple other warehouses. amazon isnt the problem.. lazy entitled people are. trust me when i tell you noone will force you to apply or stop you at the door if you wanna quit.

Well that kinda sucks...in terms you have no say or control. I just went through the hiring process of background and drug test and waiting-expecting hiring response. Start date will be in a month....and already felt some of the angst. When filling out app online I chose part time 15-24 hrs a week since I already have job working 32-39 hrs a week and just wanted to get some more hours, and overnights to not coincide with day job. When I got my sheet it was the 6pm-6am shift 3 days a week? 36 hrs. Idk what’s gonna happen.

I'm not telling anyone how to spend their money. Just remember that every dollar you spend at a business supports the actions of that business. Bezos chooses to neglect his employees. It's the easiest thing for me to do not to support Bezos with my money.
This story from James is old. Why are people still talking about it? I am a picker at Amazon, and I can pick over 3,400 units in a day for 4 days a week. 300 units in a hour is easy to do. There is nobody peeing in bottles.

Humans no longer want to work this way. Until we can totally automate, the working conditions should be more than excellent. Our culture that demands that we get what we want right away, faster than we can think about it is killing our humanity. We should absolutely abandon this notion that we deserve immediate distribution of goods and services like the spoiled brats that we have become. What all humans need fast, is, clean water, healthy food, shelter and a relavent education. Our modern political and socio-economic systems wants us to believe that extreme consumerism is good for our happiness, even if it's at the cost of humans and ecology. This BS has to go, if humans have no higher aspirations than endless materialism, fun and games, and distractions, our civilization will certainly regress if not perish from a lack of anticipating social and environmental change.
I don't see how getting things quickly is a problem. I'm also wary of the opinions of an ET such as yourself when it comes to Humans. But if your kind were to interact with common humans more instead of working with our evil governments behind the scenes, we'd trust you a lot more. Coming here with your alien face talking about humans in third person is a good start though.
These are really shitty employees.... that part can't be ignored. If you had to work for Amazon management, you'd say fuck this, I can't hit any goals with these trashy people working for us. They piss in bottles and steal. They are not just victims of the corporate world. They are victims of their own shitty cultures.
I currently work for amazon and have been for the last month and definitely can tell you that it’s very labor intensive and they do put a lot of emphasis on productivity. They want speed AND accuracy
I have just had training day with Amazon and the supervisors shout their heads off at the worker's. 1 shouted at me and I told them they have no right to shout at me. So I left the job even before starting it. Amazon has no human rights or care for the people. Amazon needs boycotting
Is it in US, or UK? I finished my training and going tomorrow. Can you leave work without 1 week notice? Can you keep safety boots and vest they provided u?
This is why I'm glad I worked at a delivery station during my time with Amazon. The delivery stations were a much more pleasant work environment than the fulfillment centers. So much more relaxed settings, though the work was still fast paced. That's just very sad to see that this kind of stuff is still happening just so that companies can make their millions. We were never told we can't go use the bathroom in the delivery stations. They always allowed us to go to get water also to stay hydrated.
Theres a problem with Amazon treating workers unfair because of the time it takes to go to the bathroom etc. News reporter you have 10 seconds chop chop!
He is telling the truth! People are under so much pressure to work faster, faster, faster and they are taking to longer in the bathroom and not working back fast enough.
I say NO to Amazon after reading Nomadland. Every person who shops at Amazon should read Nomadland. You're supporting slavery, shoppers. And Amazon has destroyed countless small honest businesses and community retailers. PPPPTOOOOeeeee!!! I spit on Amazon now.
@Miguel Dumbass, you are too stupid to explain anything to. Likely too stupid to read. But here's a challenge. Read Nomadland, about WHO are working at Amazon because as Bezos well knows, THERE IS NO OTHER INCOME FOR THESE SENIOR CITIZENS, whose Social Security doesn't pay enough for "market rent" (that keeps soaring while salaries stagnant or decrease so even young people who have decent jobs are living two or four to a 1 bedroom apartment, even in the midwest) anywhere in the U.S. of GREED.
A bill that would require large employers to cover the cost of federal assistance received by their workers.....great idea but corporations will cheat this and use the independent contractor bs loophole, so this better be included in this bill, allow for ZERO loopholes period. Otherwise corporations will cheat this and force each current and future employee to apply or re-apply for work as an independent contractor in an attempt to circumvent the law if this bill passes.
I was thinking the same thing...Indepedent contractors dont receive any benefits and are NOT considered employees. They need to be included in this bill 100%
I worked for amazon as a picker and a packer, 10 hour shifts from 6:30 at night to 5 in the morning, got paid $12.75/hr to do nothing but lift heavy shit and have my do-nothing supervisors constantly tell me I wasn’t meeting my rate (that was always increasing) while they walk around flirting with all the females and giving them the “randomly selected” vto. 300 items an hour is not true though, that’s ludicrous, ours was 50 items per hour at the fc I worked at. And the bathroom breaks thing isn’t true either as far as going in bottles. But i will say if you’re working the dock or packing, especially here in Arizona, it gets way too fucking hot in there regardless of how many fans the have, they just push the hot air around. I was fired because hr wasn’t updating my pto and I used too much time off according to them. Point is, Amazon is a terrible place to work.
Lmao sounds like UPS. So true how they just flirt with the females and have them doing easy shit, tell you to hurry up when you practically about to get buried in a trailer by a bunch of boxes lol...

I remember circa 1970, when, although the world of work wasn't perfect, it was a lot better than it is now. Nobody back then would have DREAMT that the world of work in the future would be this bad. This is truly a return to the Dickensian age of the mid-19th century. Disturbingly, the mid-19th century was held up as an aspirational model by Milton Friedman in the late 1970's. Looks like we're achieving it.
Things are bad because our entire economic system is just a fiat debt currency scam in which we swap glorified IOU's, cooked up by a crooked banking cabal. This world doesn't need Jesus, he is a useless fool. I go as far as to build a Religion around Robin Hood and worship him as the True Messiah. This world will be hell until everyone joins the Church of Robin Hood.
During this video, I flashed back to the days before the big oil crunch, when welders helpers were being paid 8-12 dollars per hour. Fast forward to 1985. I went to work as a shipfitter's helper and was making $4.50/hr. What a crock of dung this country became. Still is today. Pay no mind to the commenters who were stupid to life around them, while they were growing up and being brainwashed to accept the slave wages we all ended working for. Their parents are to blame.
I quit 7 days ago. 1.) meet cool coworkers 2.) 1 by 1 they all quit 3.) once you finish your job - you have been assigned to a new work station. What? No rest, no 1 or 3 minute breather. No wonder they hire new people weekly.
The only real advice I have for those in this line of work is GO TO COLLEGE. Go to college, and you'll avoid being scammed into being legalized slave labor for the rest of your life. These brain-dead roles are for those who only have very basic job skills and no greater ambitions in life. Or ex-cons that did time in prison and are attempting to get back into the workforce. I chose to further my education after high school. Got my degree in science, and now I'm a full-time laboratory research specialist that sees more money in one day by preforming phlebotomy and conducting potentially life-saving case studies on animals, compared to what anyone in a warehouse earns in a single week moving boxes around. So, it's pretty obvious what the greater decisions in life are when it comes to a job vs. an actual career. McDonald's isn't a "career" no matter how much they try to trick people into thinking it is, and neither is Amazon (unless you're the franchise owner or CEO of either). If you're a high school dropout that can barely read and write, then companies like this and many others don't have to give a rats ass about valuing you as an employee. And believe me when I say: (they don't). How much you get out of life depends on how much effort you put into it. So don't be lazy. Don't be a fuck-up. (Stay. In. School).
Amazon doesn’t allow unions. The participants are fired on the spot. I started working at Amazon and there’s a creed written out that we have to say and agree to.
@@gravitykat714 agreed. i worked at UPS and they were always notified when OSHA came through so they had time to tell everyone to "work safe" when every other day they didnt.

That is absolute stupidity! Government has no idea how to "feed and house" anyone! They waste trillions of dollars of taxpayer money every year, and every welfare program is over budget and bankrupting America as a whole! Eventually, when we get to $40-50 trillion, we wont even be able to pay the interest on the the government loans and we will become GREECE!
Here's an idea, why not just boycott everything Amazon? Why should Jeff Bezos continue to amass all of that money while his employees can't afford food and rent? I unfortunately understand the predatory nature of these corporate sleaze bags, but people have a right to be treated way better than THIS.
I'm an older person. I've never purchased anything from Amazon. Then I heard about their Whole Foods takeover so I stopped shopping there. I don't get the Amazon obsession. Life without Amazon is possible...for now... It must be hell on earth to work for them during the pandemic.
I used to buy all my books from Amazon because they were the cheapest. Now I usually check out eBay because Amazon has gotten ridiculous! And speaking of bathroom time, what happens if you have to do number two??
The security setup reminds me of the Walmart Distribution Centers. I used to have to go into them every once in a while to work on their computer systems and I remember thinking that the whole place reminded me of a prison!
I worked at two Amazons since 2018 these bathroom stories I never heard of or seen at my facilities. This doesn’t even sound legal. I wish someone would tell me I can’t go to the bathroom.
Right?! That's instant quit for me and they might catch a little bit of cussing before I leave. I work at something similar at the home Depot distribution and I do catch myself trying to be as fast as I can but nobody's going to punk me like that can't go to the bathroom.
I worked for Amazon and considered it a pretty good job. It was a 2 hour drive from my house so I couldn't keep it. Amazon keeps you busy but it is easy work. I left FedEx to work for them and gained 40 pounds in two months. I'm back at FedEx loading trucks which I actually like better since it keeps me in shape. But seriously Amazon gives you like 3 months to get to their numbers and it's not that hard to do. I saw people working there for a year and not making them and not getting fired. It's like any other job. If you come to work everyday and do your best they will keep you or just give you a job where there is no numbers involved.
I remember when I worked for Louie Vuitton, some one told me that the Amazon suicide hotline was always crazy busy. I guess that is why some people wanted to off themselves cause the stress level was so high there.
Totally irrelevant but a lot of workplaces have high suicide rates due to stress and pressure I know because…. a coworker of mine …. Himself on the job shocked us all
M no it’s not sad that helps Amazonians get paid plus helps the company out warehouses are always upgrading been working there for a year and we always get better and easier equipment
Actually the pay for a seasonal associate will be at least $13.25 depended on the job and warehouse location. It is more than national minimum wage with some benefits for permanent associates (seasonal has literally no benefit at all except 1.5x on holidays, yeah no holiday pay for them). The condition at FC (Fulfillment Center) you see in the video is 100% truth and same for other company. You cannot do anything about it.
Bernie should take Amazon up on their rebuttal and challenge their numbers. Bernie should ask for access to the fulfillment center labor books and have a professional accounting firm audit them. These can be cross-referenced to IRS stock documents, Amazon employee heath insurance documents, and signed.offered employee agreements. Bernie should not let his one punch and their counter punch be the end. Bernie can win this so long as he does not let it hang.
Boofrye, Thanks. Business Insider has some good stuff. I can't stand Jimmy Dore. But thank you for illuminating that Bernie is indeed fighting back. Having been in business a long time, in small medium and large companies, and in two an owner, I know the games folks play. Even way back, when I was in the Navy, they tried that BS of rolling up our "benefits (leave, free medical, shitty Viet Nam era GI Bill)" into an equivalent salary amount. It turned my $360 a month into $1200.
I worked at Amazon and the no bathroom break rumor is untrue. You are allowed what ever time it takes to do your business. It would be a really good idea to call your PA (Process Assistant) first so your time off task can be compensated for. It's also prudent to carry a small notepad with you so you can record the time. If you dally and not follow the rules, you will be given a warning, 3 times and you will be written up. 3 write ups and they'll show you the door. Also, a beginning associate will make $17.50 hr to start. If that employee is living on food stamps, then either his family is too large, a spouse doesn't work, or they do not budget their money wisely, but it's not Amazon's fault.
Sadly, this is the scenario/rules for most non-union employment in America. I once worked in a factory with the exact same rules. You'd get an "occurrence" if you didn't give 4 days advanced notice for missing work...for ANY reason. So, you had to be psychic as to when you'd get sick. You had to notify them of having the flu before you had it. If (when) you didn't? Occurrence. What happened when you gathered 2 occurrences? Verbal warning. 3? Written warning. 4? Loss of job. You were allowed 6 UNPAID days off a year. That was your sick time, vacation time. 6 days unpaid that, again, you had to give 4 days advanced notice for. Before I arrived they tried to unionize and the company used that as an excuse to purge as many as possible to replace with "temp" labor. Temps work for a Temp Service, not the company they're doing work for. A Temp Service is paid twice the wages of the Temp Worker but that's still good for the company using them as Temps have ZERO rights. I was told by many that once the large group of temps came on they were told to spy on the actual employees that were pro-union. The temps were given quotas to fill for what can basically be called tattles. Temps had to find reasons to allow the company to fire it's workers. Once lists were made they called a meeting. In the meeting were several large men that nobody had seen before. The factory manager read-out each employees transgressions they were scolded and told to "see their way out". Those fired were escorted out by the large men. A small few kept their job with a written warning. When those that "could see their way out" filed for unemployment the company denied them with claims that they walked out (quit). They were physically escorted out and told the State that they quit. None received unemployment. When that news got around the few still pro-union gave up. When that became apparent the company slowly released the temps and made new, normal hires that the very few remaining, once pro-union employees had to train. I was one of those new employees. Worst job I've ever had. I currently know dozens working in places just like it.
He probably doesn´t though, the money gets spread out. The companys worth, even if it does not actually have the money, just the worth, increases his worth.
That's why I stay away from money. It's an illness and perverts your mind. What else is he going to buy a 10th mansion he'll never be at and fill it up with expensive crap he'll never use.
I worked at a FedEx warehouse around Pittsburgh and these conditions are close to what I experienced in my 3 months of employment. When I 1st started i took bathroom breaks and my bosses were unhappy but I ignored their criticism enough that they eventually stopped hounding me. The warehouse had no ac and I brought my own water bottles.
Exactly. You stood up for yourself and didn't just drop to your knees and did what you were told like some slave. These Amzon workers are morons. Who wouod dare to tell me that I can't piss in a bathroom? I'd tell him to fuck off.
@shiestjoo NO! THIS IS ABOUT BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF! IF YOU LET THEM BELITTLE YOU WHILE WORKING THERE, OTHER COMPANIES START TO DO THE SAME! YOU ARE BASICALLY AGREEING TO ALLOWING BIG MONOPOLIES TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR WORKERS. IF BIG MONOPOLY COMPANIES DO THIS, HOW ARE WE GOING TO GROW AS A NATION!? Let the older working generation retire and pay a fair wage to new and upcoming employees. You can have college and still battle for a job. SICK!
@shiestjoo No one talks down to me cause I give respect/understanding to each of my clients. Personally, do not work in a warehouse. I work in holistic medicine, Ayurveda. Being a *bully and assuming* about others is not a good thing to do. Thinking you are better then another worker is *WRONG*, due to the fact your materials were picked/shipped by a warehouse worker. Your job type is neither below or above another worker. It is time to conquer the world with inclusiveness and generosity, not with wars and brutal power. - Sadhguru
I walked out of the slave ship Amazon my first day working there! I honestly feel like They do to much especially the security they paying 19 a hour right now and to be honest it’s not worth it because they treat you like your a nothing In orientation they provided us with a suicide hotline number… that right there was a major red flag for me. And it’s sad that workers have to pee in bottles to keep their numbers up smh I pray for all the Amazon workers out there
The only real advice I have for anyone in this line of work is GO TO COLLEGE. (Stay. In. School).
Remember wall-e and all the fat people .didnt wana get up not even to change outfits...thats what all this tech is doing the easier people have it the easier people want it wake up every1 is being turned into a lazy slob Seems like evrything thats coming out is being made to make things easier
Amazon was literally hiring me at 10.5 to work stock and I was gonna have to walk between 10-20 miles a day.. in a warehouse if that is not slave labor idk what is
I work for US Amazon and I have never experienced any of the things they are talking about....5 years at Amazon and I have never witnessed any of this. People are free to go to the bathroom when they want. I find this hard to believe. This is just what I'm stating for the Amazon warehouse that I work at. I am extremely happy at my job and I am also proud of the work that I do. All my fellow Associates are very good and happy people and if any of us thought we were being mistreated we would voice it and our GM would put a stop to it. At my FC our GM has an open door policy and anyone can walk into his office and voice whatever complaint they have and all complaints are taken very seriously. If situations like these are happening at other FC's the GM and all of HR including the safety team should be fired. But like I said I'm only speaking for the FC that I have worked at for over 5 years and I love it there, Amazon takes very good care of us.
I had a job like that years ago when I worked in a hospital where we were extremely overworked and horrifically understaffed every night and especially in the winter time when every bed was full and people were camping out in the emergency room hallways and in the waiting rooms, while waiting for a bed. I had nightmares about the stress of that job for 10 years after leaving that entire career. There is no amount of money that you could pay me to work in a hospital ever again! Every night we were assigned more patients than anybody could properly take care of, and all because the hospital was too greedy to hire sufficient staff!
I'll never be pissed about a later order again. If that warehouse worker had to "go #2 real bad" and had to bum rush it the the restroom then he's gotta do what he's gotta do. Shouldn't be penalized for it.
warehouse work isn't for everyone. i found the work to be very easy, yes the hours are long. but they make sure to inform you at orientation about standing for 10 hours or more. i think it is a job for people whom have a strong work ethic. you get breaks very 2 hours then a lunch. bathroom breaks are to remain under 10 minutes at a time. they cant do much if its under that time, but people abuse the time easily because they are not recorded. being productive is whats important , you can have the lowest picking rate or stowing rate , all they'll do is mention it. but as long as you are staying on task you will be working for amazon for a long time. they fire people whom are incapable of performing. theirs 60 years women working at my facility. they live up to what they tell you in orientation. at amazon you have to keep your balance. do not work to hard and do not slack. if you work to hard in a department they will keep you there bc they do not want to rid of their top worker in their department.
I work as a case order selector for Kroger. Basically, the same mentality from management. Mass firings. Mass hirings. Near impossible job expectations. If one is to question these nefarious treatments of the labor force, they are viewed as an enemy by middle management and up (those, who can “make your life a living hell”, through work loads assigned). Personally, I believe those who are clawing their way up the corporate ladder (at the expense of humanity) are brainwashed. I actually feel sorry for them. How joyless one must be to resort to sadism and/or complete apathy, in regards to the workers rights. This is why I see limited upper mobility in my current situation. I understand that jobs require a certain level of productivity standards. But, the lack of humanity experienced is physically and/or emotionally traumatic to the people working for hourly wages in these distribution centers.

This BS has to go, if humans have no higher aspirations than endless materialism, fun and games, and distractions, our civilization will certainly regress if not perish from a lack of anticipating social and environmental change.
well said...we have become spoiled and I think some may even be addicted at this point....I live in Cali it's all around me and I hate it.

So they will go to automation and fire everyone! The real minimum wage is always ZERO dollars!
I was thinking the same thing...Indepedent contractors dont receive any benefits and are NOT considered employees. They need to be included in this bill 100%
If that is the case, the contractor would be on the hook, since they are the employer.

How is federal assistance doweled out to Amazon employees? Why are these employees not unionized?
We must regulate their wages in the form of a minimum wage.
Even the mention of unionizing in a workplace could get you fired.
Amazon is the standard for highest warehouse pay in the United States. This whole thing is a lie.
Gizmodo already did the rebuttal for him

Boofrye,
Thanks.

@shiestjoo NO! THIS IS ABOUT BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF! IF YOU LET THEM BELITTLE YOU WHILE WORKING THERE, OTHER COMPANIES START TO DO THE SAME! warehouse work isn't for everyone. i found the work to be very easy, yes the hours are long. but they make sure to inform you at orientation about standing for 10 hours or more. i think it is a job for people whom have a strong work ethic. you get breaks very 2 hours then a lunch. bathroom breaks are to remain under 10 minutes at a time. they cant do much if its under that time, but people abuse the time easily because they are not recorded. being productive is whats important , you can have the lowest picking rate or stowing rate , all they'll do is mention it. but as long as you are staying on task you will be working for amazon for a long time. they fire people whom are incapable of performing. theirs 60 years women working at my facility. they live up to what they tell you in orientation. at amazon you have to keep your balance. do not work to hard and do not slack. if you work to hard in a department they will keep you there bc they do not want to rid of their top worker in their department.
And then it’s like, why you think they are constantly hiring it makes you wonder 💭
Overtime isn't a favor to your workers if they are forced to work 60 hours a week for months on end or they get fired.
