After watching several how-to videos for my Kenmore Elite’s non-working ice flap, yours is the only video that showed me how to get the panel off without breaking anything. All fixed now, THANK YOU!!🎉
Good job, Fixed my ice maker fast! Kenmore NEEDS to replace these "faulty" trigger switches on these dam ice makers... THIRD time this has happened on mine now.
Your DYI video was crystal clear and easy to follow as we have the exact same fridge model. After ordering the door motor, doing it ourselves saved us at least $250 in labor. During installation, we stopped and replayed each step several times to make sure we got it right. The new motor worked correctly the first time!
Great video AppliancePartsPros. I took apart my Kenmore Elite Frig yesterday and found that the lever was on the wrong side of the motor arm. Since I was already in there I just replaced the motor. Thanks again.
Boom! great tutorial and didn't need to buy the part! The arm on the inside just got bumped to where it wasn't pushing on the right swing arm to open the ice chute!
Thanks for the video. I successfully fixed my icemaker with your help. The motor was fine, but the tab that moves the door became misaligned. I was able to re-align it to the motor actuator. Success!
Help. My Kenmore Elite is working perfectly. However, I would like to clean the water/ice dispenser paddle (it has mineral deposits on it) and the spot (shown in your video at 3:19 and looking pretty yukky). How can I do this?
Great, informative video! I've had to replace parts in every Kenmore Elite appliance I own within the first 5 years. Don't make them like they used to!
I found a big issue with the LG design that caused ice door failure. The motor tab has to push on the door tab to open it. If the door tab slips off and gets on the wrong side, the motor will never open the door even though the motor works!!! That’s what happened in my case. The motor worked fine on the bench with a 12v DC supply. So I looked at my disassembly photos and clearly saw the door tab on the wrong side of the motor tab. That might have been the same problem in the video! Before you buy a new motor check to see if the door tab will be pushed by the motor when it extends.
This is exactly what happened to me four or more times, but the ice door motor is fine. Be very careful removing the front panel, as I broke the tabs on mine by trying to open it from the top. EXPENSIVE to replace this panel when the only fix needed was to put the ice door tab behind the ice door lever. Thanks for saving me big bucks!
Great video! So helpful. I only disconnected the two cannon plugs to the circuit board and was able to remove the backing plate and had enough room to pop the tab back in place behind the motor plate. Didn’t need to replace motor. Think it happened when it ran the ice maker too long.

You're very welcome. Glad we could help you out.
Thank you for the video. You saved me a service call by being able to replace the flapper motor myself.

Thanks to this video I was able to install new motor I purchased on eBay for around $10. Now, our ice dispenser is working again!

Thanks Simon! Your video took a lot of the guess work out of this repair. The part arrived quickly and the ice chute door is working again.
Really appreciate the video. Was able to do this on my own thanks to it!
Great video, exactly what I needed. Thanks!!!
You're welcome!
Great tutorial. Picket up the part (crazy fast shipping) and did the repair on my own. Many thanks!

Thank you. My motor pin ended up behind the flap so quick fix, no parts needed, and now I know what to do if it happens again.
Happy to hear you were able to figure out the issue. If we can help in the future let us know!
Great video thank you
