Perfect, part was cheap on Amazon, fixed in 15 minutes thanks to your instructions, especially the instructions to reset the door actuator by plugging it in, saved me time and money I am sure.
Thanks for the easy to understand video and the tip to look on eBay. [major online parts retailer] had it for about $55, but it was $15 or so on eBay. It took me longer to watch your video twice than it did to actually fix the thing. Great job, now we have ice again!
My problem was that my ice wasn't dispensing consistently (it would start and stop whenever it felt like it). I did this repair, replacing the motor (part EAU59551204), but it did not fix my problem. I later found out that it was a different replaceable part in the same area that was the cause of the problem ( micro switch 6600JB3001C). Before spending the money on the motor part, you can do the following simple test to determine whether it is the motor that needs to be replaced, or whether it is the more inexpensive micro switch that needs to be replaced. First, verify that the single/shared LED light used by both dispensers are working; you can test this by dispensing some water, if the LED lights up for water, it is functioning. Assuming your LED is working, now press the glass against the ice dispenser....does the LED light up the entire time the ice dispenser is depressed, and does the LED light turn off after you stop pressing against the ice dispenser? If the LED lights up, then your micro switch is working fine, and you should try replacing the motor. BUT, if your LED light is not lighting up the entire time you are depressing the ice maker, then, like me, you probably have a faulty micro switch, and I would try replacing that instead. I bought my microswitch on EBay, but they sell the part at Amazon, and at other parts companies on the web as well. Replacing the switch was easy (though it requires a small phillips head screwdriver to remove the old one) and solved my problem.
Mine is also intermittent, now it finally just stopped. But I don't get the LED on, I'm going to try this first before the motor. Thanks for the tip, and to the video contributor thanks for showing the process
@@jessicanewmantol One other thing; I found another video somewhere (I forget where), but it showed me that I did not need to use screwdrivers or putty knives to open up the compartment. Rather, after washing my hands, I simply reached up into the ice dispenser with one hand, and then gave a swift tug straight towards me (with my other hand pressed up against the door, so that the door didn't swing open when I tugged). Voila, the whole dispenser unit came right out.
@@jessicanewmantol Here is a video link to the technique I used to remove the panel; a bit easier than the screwdriver/putty knife method: ua-cam.com/video/7V37EHMJjZQ/v-deo.html
Hi, would you happen to have a pic of the motor/compressor assembly? I think a repair person did something wrong and I need a pic to compare it to. LG LFX31925
Here is how I removed my LG French Door panel: ua-cam.com/video/7V37EHMJjZQ/v-deo.html I found it much easier and quicker than using the screwdriver / putty knife method (which was the first method I tried): Not sure if it works for the LFX31925, but the panels look identical, so I imagine the same method works on both LG models. Just thought I'd pass it along.

This was exactly the right solution! $40 part, fixed it myself and easily saved over $100 on a repair person! Thank you!

Thank you so much, sir! I couldn't figure out what my issue was until I saw this video. I was able to fix it in less than 10 minutes.

After I installed my new part the new armature didn't retract and still doesn't work. Suggestions? Ice can be made and falls out if ice flap is open.
great video...very informative!!
Very welcome.
I hope u see all well.
My flap works but Ice won’t come out. Any tips?
Check out the recent reply above from Marc Phillips, maybe it'll help
