    Guest bio:
    Dr. Amanda Nickerson is the director of the Alberti Center for Bullying Abuse Prevention at the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York. She is a licensed psychologist, nationally certified school psychologist and fellow of the American Psychological Association. Her research focuses on school crisis prevention and intervention, with a particular emphasis on violence and bullying. She has examined the role of schools, parents, and peers in preventing violence and enhancing the social-emotional strengths of children and adolescents. Her current projects focus on providing safe and supportive environments for LGBTQIA+ youth. Dr. Nickerson has written five books and her work has been published in more than 100 journal articles and book chapters.
