I like the matte look so the cerakote is my pick. Although, I’d be interested to see the suds lab diluted. Can be a money saver. I think Chemical guys VRP, Jay Leno’s dressing & black magic gel should be put in the contest. All available at Walmart.

A product that doesn't seem to get much attention in this space and is rock solid IMHO is Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel. You can dilute 1:1 per directions (but also as high as 2:1 or even 3:1). By diluting it gives a nice matte black light sheen type of finish which I prefer over the high gloss look. I use it in a continuous spray bottle (an old Dawn Powerwash bottle works fine for this. Their bottle is made by FLAIROSOL). I spritz a little bit directly on the tire and then brush it in with a little 2" synthetic paint brush you can get for like $3-$4.
I bought a gallon of the Opti-Bond back in 2020 for like $40 on Amazon and I still have nearly half of it left. It works so well and is so economical that I've yet to have the need to try anything else (despite wanting to). It's currently $22.99 for a 32 oz bottle (the gallon doesn't seem to exist anymore).
PS - it also works through a spray gun & air compressor. I just find that the FLAIROSOL and paint brush method to be just as quick and effective.

Hydrophobic properties and resistance to dust are important too.
Some dressings, especially thick gels, can get tacky and hold onto to dust in the air.

After seeing your SudsLab interview I got the suds lab T3 like you used in this comparison. It has become my go-to tire dressing. I first did the 4:1 dilution but found myself adding more and more product and while I honestly don't know the current ratio, I like the results. I'm probably around 1:1 at the moment. I have a Jeep Wrangler with off-road tires and this product works really well! I have a long bristled brush that I spray it into and then apply to the tires. It allows me to get the product between the tread blocks and around the lettering while keeping it off my wheels. I also like the smell and the way I can get a more "natural" and new-looking finish on my tires. It also works on my wife's SUV tires in the same way. Great product and lasts about 2-3 weeks.

I really like the look of the tire with Cerakote! I’ve been using Adam’s Aerosol Tire Shine on my car (Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires) and have been very, very happy with it. I think the tire with Cerakote looks just like my tires with the Aerosol Tire Shine. I’d love to see you test that product next. It seems like it’s quite different than the “regular” Adam’s Tire Shine that you tested here. I spray onto a microfiber applicator and spread it around. No overspray that way. It doesn’t sling or attract dirt. Tires are nice and clean after a wash - looks like I could skip reapplication if I was in a hurry.
    Great videos! Thanks!

Price (including bulk) matters too. For “weekend warriors”, who cares if Product A lasts 2x as long as Product B if Product B has similar properties and is 1/4 the cost. Now for a professional detailer, you mainly want to focus on longevity and not other properties (hydroponics and resistance to dust) as customers want to see the product last (not too long so they come back for more 🤑).

I like the Cerakote so far, love how even it looks. I normally love a glossy tire, but it has to be consitent and that is where the problem usually lies. I love Adam's Graphene Tire Dressing and I also believe it or not do like Meguiar's Endurance Gel (if applied correctly and evened out). When done right, I do not have the sling issues that people reportedly did not like about that Gel.

Cerakote finished the best, but...i'll never trust/buy Cerakote again after their Trim coating.
I had to replace trim, and over a year later i'm still waiting for the rest of it to fade away.
I've used Darkside (gets more durable after a few applications), Ethos Graphene (matte, even finish, lasts a week or two), and i have CG Silk Shine that i've used for years previous. Honestly, Silk Shine is great until it rains. It's been on for over a week and a half (no rain), washed with a rinseless, and still looks great. C,mon Josh, i know you have yourself some Silk Shine... lol

By far the Cerakote was the clear winner. I used to like that "slick as snot" silicone look, when I had my first car, but that just attracts dirt and slings all over even after letting it sit a day. You have to work it to avoid that, and that cuts that gloss. I avoid the silicone nonsense altogether. Might have to get a kit if Cerakote and try it out.

I’ve been using Chemical Guys tire kicker tire shine applied with a pad for the last year or so. I believe I’ll be switching to Cerakote when the current bottle goes empty. That clean, matte/semi gloss finish is what I want! The Adam’s in my experience after several days cures into a nice deep matte black; that gloss will dissipate after a day or so.

I like Superior cover all from AutoZone bought one day in a jam and was impressed with the longevity and most of all for me very little to no sling

Just an idea but how about dilutable dressings. I feel like that would take forever but just an idea. Meguiars hyper dressing I’ve always known the price around a 100 but it’s 45 on car supplies warehouse and like 60 on Amazon I believe. And dynamic dressing from P&S. I always hear that the dressings are dilutable but every time I dilute a dressing I always see it as not effective or the highest dilution is 1-1. Great video Josh!

Would like to see this test on the Rebel. I have the Rebel so would like to see it on the bigger knobby tires, Cerakote 1st purely for looks followed by SudsLab for looks and ability to be diluted.

The best dressing I have used so far was Lone Star Matt dressing. Long lasting and a nice matt finish. Problem it looks like they only make gloss finish now and no longer matt. Not a fan of shiny tires.

Walmart also has a turtle wax tire shine called wet n black tire shine it’s pretty cheap at $5 23oz it’s like a basic water based dressing won’t last too long especially after some rain but most water based don’t. It says to spray on tire directly but like you josh I like using an applicator and I’ve had no sling and it has good sheen look to it

Tried majority of them. Hands down the Maguiar's Endurance Tire Spray (purple can) . Its not matt enough to look like you washed your car and forgot the tire shine and shiny enough to look like its wet. Perfect shine. Always gets to ask me what I use. Also its easy to clean/remove and doesn't attract dust/ dandalion fluff.

    • @imjoshv

I hate the silicone based cuz it actually picks up dust. That's why took a while to find my product. I want shiny but not likes its wet, but majority of them attracts dust and also hard to wash. Sticks into ur brush

They also sell jay lenos garage that you can for 7/8 dollars at times. I’ve started using it. Real world, put it on my wife’s 4 runner tires. Kind of heavy. Minimal amount of sling on the running boards. Has lasted three weeks.

From my experience, i don't like microfiber applicators when applying tire dressing. Only Foam because the microfiber takes away from the shine, if thats what you looking for.
