Started learning about detailing and ended up going down rabbit hole of paint correction and touch up 😂
Glad you love Detailing my friend cheers!
The rabbit hole is deeeeep haha!
One of the best "stone chip repair" videos I have ever seen on UA-cam! Great job Frank! I had know idea they made those sanding pencil/pens. Those look very useful in cleaning out the stone chip prior to applying the OEM color repair paint.
Frank, this was very interisting. The sanding pen tip is a really good idea. Thanks 👍👍🇨🇦
Thank you Eric, appreciate your usual support brother. Glad you like the videos man
Great tips! Thanks for the Geni Color Pen and sanding pen ideas, I would definitely consider using those for my first time doing chips. Love your content!
Glad it was helpful! Cant go wrong with GENI COLOR
Beautiful work 👌
Thank you ruebarb, appreciate your continuous support!
Your explanations are so good! Very clear and detailed. Thank you very much for putting this together!
Thank you and thanks for taking the time to let me know! Glad you liked it. Cheers
Good morning, very interesting video, you did good 👍keep up the great work 🤜🤛
thanks Mario you're the best!
Thank you for the great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Welcome back Sir
Thank you John! Appreciate you
Thanks, good info!
Glad it was helpful! thanks for writing a couple words!
Wow. Great video, you definitely did a great job of explaining all the steps. I’m definitely going to get the paint applicator you used. I’ve used the little dab applicators but not always the best option.
Thanks for your videos!
Also where can I get the sanding pencils in Canada?
Thank you Steve, glad to see you back. Glad you like the video! It's on amazon canada too, under Paint touch up tool pen. cheers
Steve I misread your last comment, the sanding pencil are from GENI COLOR link in description cheers
Yes I found them this morning. Glad you mentioned them, I had never heard of them.
Good explanation of removing stone chips ,only negative was your camera never came in close enough, to inspect your work !
thank you! will do better next time cheers
Hey great video , wish I saw this years ago . Great knowledge and a lot better than most video about how to do these . Any advice of a Ceramic coated vehicle with rock chips? I’m guessing the coating would have to be removed on the panel that’s being worked on ?
Hey Cristian, good talking to you. Thanks so much for leaving your thoughts i love reading them. For a coated vehicle that can't afford a complete re-do, i'd just use the GENI color pen, fill just right amount in the chips after sanding the holes with the sanding pen beforehand and call it good, because any form of sanding or compounding will remove the ceramic coating and should be re-done. In my case i did a complete overhaul. Let me know if i answered your question cheers, appreciate you.
@@Detailing_Dogma thanks for the info ! Looks like I’ll be doing to the same with my car . I’ll just remove it , fix the chips and recoat it . Thanks again for the information. Not for nothing removing ceramic coating might be a great video one day . I don’t think many people know how to do it. Again I appreciate your time , definitely not taken for granted .
Very helpful video! I just bought one of these gadgets on Amazon and I’m anxious to give it a try. Curious if you ever mix clear-coat with the paint in the in the little reservoir?
you can mix it your self with the right ratio but that would need a good stir which wont work in the tool itself. maybe use a plastic cup, mix your clear and base well and then pour.
@@Detailing_Dogma I was thinking of exactly that. Mixing in a small cup and then using a dropper to put in the tool. 👍
When I got to 9:50 I was like I think I'm fine living with stone chips 😅
I have a matte Genesis GV70, so I cannot sand and polish. The OEM touch up pen that I got from Genesis comes with a sanding stick, but since it's matte paint, I'm afraid that using the sanding stick will make the scratch and paint chips I have look worse.
I'm thinking of using nail art brushes to paint over the scratch as those brushes have extra fine tips that are used for line art.
Hey man thanks for tuning in, never sand or polish matte paint ever. Go with the GENI COLOR pen its cheap and fine point enough. This is the alternative I talk about in the video when sanding isnt possible. Dab some paint do not over fill so you dont end up with a round bubbly touch up, just enough to fill the gap. Yes you can also substitute your applicator with anything you judge fine enough that'd work but personnally I like to stick with the stuff built for a task. Cheers brother
Nice
cheers bro!
Thank you for this. My question is 'my paint touch-up kit came with a lacquer. Why have you not applied any lacquer?'
I just want to know because a few days ago i touched up a trolley bang (😡) and I'm wondering whether to leave it or add the lacquer. I think i need to add another layer of paint first as it was quite a deep chip (😡😡😡).
Cheers, thanks in advance
hey pigeon, because I asked for premixed clear.+ base coat together! In your case you can add the clear if the paint applied isnt shiny like the rest of the panel, but I never had great results with a 2-step touch up. hope that helps
Nice1..Dog & thank k u
Thank you John, appreciate you.
What do u charge for this service
Would this help a long scratch ? I got keyed my hole length of the front door ?
of course my friend, won't be perfect but that'll work for sure.
I’m from Montreal Quebec where in Quebec are u from?
Hey man thanks for watching! MTL too. cheers
Why you deleted the yesterday video 🙄
Hey bro, I havent posted a video yesterday ✌️

Only problem with this method ia that you creatw flatapots, they look like dents on some angles.
hey thanks for watching, appreciate you. Sincerely never seen the phenomenon that you're mentioning. We level the chip repair smooth with the rest of the hood. We're talking microns here, cant have a dent effect or uneven surrface.
@@Detailing_Dogma paint texture allways reduces some amount when spot sanding. Its true that most people wont notice that though. Good video 😊👍🏻
@@jtm1979 Agreed, you're right, also depends on who sanded, I knocked off the touch up heads, double check the texture with excellent lighting. No difference in orange peel on this particular car. Appreciate your wisdom brother.
Bro make something about Waterless wash with the Pump sprayer I stay in apartment there is no access for the Pressure washer 🥲🙏🏻
can you swing a rinseless wash with a 5 gallon water?? I can make that video but I'd keep a real waterless for emergency situation only
@@Detailing_Dogma I Just Add 1000ML Water and 50ML Shampoo & 4,5 Microfiber clothes... Yes please a video about Waterless wash... Again am saying I stay in apartment there is no Access of Pressure washer 🥲🤗🙏🏻
