Reading people tip: if someone is looking at all your body parts and has trouble following the conversation, it could mean that they have seen this video.
My body language is messed up. People don't like me cause I look mad, but I'm actually really happy or I'm completely fine or I'm tired or I'm sad. I'm really not a mean person lol
Yeah, I was wondering about the end of the video when he said to pick something to observe, and I was like, if my eyes are constantly aimed down at their feet, they're going to have questions. XD
Me: **tries to kiss girl** Her: Ew, wtf are you doing?! Me: I‒I thought you liked me. Her: Why on earth would you think that? Me: Your pupils were dilated...
These signs are great for actors to learn. No matter how well you can deliver lines, if your body language isn't convincing, your performance won't be convincing. While delivery of lines marks the difference between a bad and okay actor, body language marks the difference between an okay and good actor. Just try to display the signs your character is supposed to be feeling in the scene and you will see a big improvement in how much more convincing your acting is.
A helpful trick I learned that has helped me quite a bit during business meetings is to look at peoples faces when other people are talking. When a person is talking, watch the other people in the group and pay attention to who is looking at them and who is not. It gives you a good insight into conflicts and power-plays amongst the people in the group. You will notice that people look at the speaker when they are aligned with them, but will look away or look down when the speaker is someone they don't care for or someone they feel dominant over. I've used it over the years to give me an indication of a group's dynamics and it's surprisingly accurate. And it gives you an idea of how people feel about you when you're the speaker.
Happy feet: bounce or wiggling Means : excitement satisfaction or can mean impatience Lifted feet: part of the foot lifted Happiness excitement interest Feet pointing away: we point feet away from things/ people we don’t like might indicate they don’t like something which has been saidor it can mean they have an appointment or something like that Knee clasp: puts both hands on knees and leans forwards That person is ready to leave Standing width: someone with feet close together is less confident someone with feet shoulder with apart is confident ( more space taken up more confident as general rule) Legs apart while sitting: comfort Standing leg cross: extremely comfortable usually points in direction of the person they like most ( how to tell if someone has a crush on you lol) Legs crossed while sitting ( not on the floor SCHOOLS): makes one thigh form a barrier if the barrier is between you and them they are not comfortable with you or dislike something you said if barrier not towards you they feel comfortable and like what you said Foot freeze: someone has been moving their legs a lot and they suddenly freeze They are experiencing some sort of stress or powerful emotion Foot lock: someone suddenly crosses legs when they had them apart( not in a school environment where they will get told off for apart legs on floor) Stress or discomfort
Another thing to notice, is that people will often take the same body posture in a given room or small group. Watch who changes first and see who follows that posture. It can be crossed legs or arms. There can be people back to back and not able to see each other. Eventually, unless they are both alpha, one will take the others posture. So another rule is don't assume their posture is actually their own. Wait to see other peoples posture to see if they are mimicking someone or taking the pose themselves.
I don't mirror, I do the opposite. If other people in a room are standing in a similar pose, I have a tendency to "break" the chain and stand differently and act as a counter-balance.
Really the only ones I bother about worrying about is confidence and looking engaged in other people i care about even when i have to leave/was about to do something else

Great video. This guy covers EVERYTHING, even a trick to memorize the info better. Definitely going to rewatch this multiple times and watch the rest of the channel. Thank you improvement pill
I actually really like these videos. They show the skill needed to actually read someone with all of this information, follow the conversation and not look weird or seen checking someone. Really appreciate this video and i hope it helps others like me. I've always been interested in the brain, psychology and how all of it works.
I internalized all of this info after some acid trips... every time i trip i can read and sense every expression of a person and see the way he/she is being in that moment, also using what's happening around me makes it easier. The great thing was that i was able to bring this "gift" back from the trip to life. When i watched the video i was really surprised to see that about 90% of my unconscious readings were correct! Ps english is not my main language and im a little high from a joint so sorry for possible mistekes. x)
Yep, this is exactly what I use and it works with practice and experience. Don't be afraid to go and meet new people, learn the stories of the world around you
I saw this in my watch later and thought it said "how to read" and completely didn't question it. this probably says a lot about me that I don't want to think about
This knowledge seems like more a curse than a blessing. I mean, you can be talking to someone about a game or something else you like and they do something, you notice it, and whether they like or dislike you off of that will always change the mood then youre overthinking things when you walk away
IcYGodZ lol after i started playing smash and got good at it, i improved in soccer because i was so much better at reading people. And i'm also pretty good at reading people in general now
Jackie in smash bros you learn to predict other peoples moves so you can counter. If ur good at it you can probably read people in real life. This mostly works against other players instead of cpu in game.
In Germany we call the knee clasp "So!", because thats what we say when we want to leave. We hit both laps or knees with our flat hand and just say one fast "So!" and go
I have, for years, unintentionally come off as cold, closed, dominating, and very serious, even though i try to appear kind and funny. No wonder people don’t hang around me much
My brother obviously has watched one of these videos because once when we were playing my favorite game I looked at him and he said “wow, you really don’t like me”, turns out my pupils had gone from extremely large when I was watching the screen to extremely small when I looked at him.
11:19 Joe Navarro in his book “what every body is saying” talks about the lack of eye contact. Apparently, if you don’t make much eye contact you are also signaling you feel secure with that person since you’re not screening them all the time and can confidently look away, without fearing any harm
Morgan in Japan yup 90% - 95% of the convo look at their face/eyes the rest look for other body language don’t be obvious and act natural (don’t stare at other body parts when not looking at the face just look around with your eyes and don’t move your head as much)
hey I really liked your video. as a psychology student being able to read body language can be a very useful skill however I feel that you should have added how different cultures affect expression of body language as this can severely affect a person's ability to read body language in a multicultural environment.
Dregorin i will give you an example american men and european men have different ways of sitting that is accecpted in their cultures. American men prefer to sit on a chair with their the ankle of one foot on the thigh of the other. But a european man would simply sit with his legs crossed. post ww2 american military officials realised that had the german ss realised this many of their spies would have been caught. Also to my knowledge most major studies of body language have been done only in the north america or western europe. so it is difficult to say whether that research based in the west would be equally applicable in asia and africa.
Videos like these are what shape the norms, you start looking for the said signs in others and avoid making them yourself, then in time people become conditioned to the said signs(unconsciously) which makes them all the more accurate. So having seen these signs which you can't unsee because it went into your unconscious mind, your body will have a wider range of motion(comfort and discomfort/stress wise)so you'll surely be experiencing the said signs pretty soon.
despite the fact I'm a middle school student, I often find myself using the arms behind back stance subconsciously. I had no idea it meant what it does...
Amaizing. I recently started watching your channel and I gotta say those videos you're creating are actually true life lessons for those who understand to make us real independent people. I just got a sugg., keep continuing! :P
I feel like these body language tips don't always apply. Maybe with strangers or acquaintances, but less with close friends and/or family. Some body positions are more comfortable than others for different people, and relying on a body language to sense someone's feelings towards you can be very unreliable. As both an example and a statement: confusion and conveying confusion through bodily language was barely addressed besides the shoulder shrug, but other actions of mine like a head tilt or furrowed eyebrows (or often, both) will indicate more that I'm confused than a lack of trust or belief. It reflects more of a lack of knowledge with me. Another separate example would be the raised eyebrows. It doesn't always mean excitement or happiness for me, it can also sometimes mean a "Oh really?" (both sarcastically and literally). Last one: I saw someone mention that we mimic other people's behaviors, and I find that to be very true. My music friends and I, when we sit in a line and are watching a performance, we end up crossing our legs and usually end up crossing them the same way, and shifting which way they're crossed at some point based on comfort. But none of it is as a result of unhappiness or distrust of the friends sitting to the side the thigh is pointing to. I honestly didn't need to write this whole thing, but I felt that I should, it's important to take personal difference into account too, and that wasn't really stated as much in the video. Although I know most of the viewers will know, I still felt like it should be said. If anyone else reads this, what emotion and body language connections do y'all have that aren't addressed in the video?
I think I have a built in body language sensor. If I know the basics about a person or I've just seen them interact with someone or something I'm able to tell how they feel or what they're thinking. The easiest emotions to figure out is fear, nervous and sad since people usually hunch down a little and kind of squish their body together so they're just in one tiny ball and so people are less likely to notice them.
I've seen this video a few times but I keep forgetting the bosy language signals I'm gonna spend a few days on each body part and watch this video multiple times. I believe this stuff is very important thanks for making the video 😊👋
Thought I had social issues but after watching this, I know I don't now. They went into specifics but all I really heard was "this means but also might mean" which isn't helpful to people who are socially inept. If you like someone or dislike someone, your body will do what it does naturally. Just don't overthink about the way you want to treat someone
"happy feet -- this is when". So happy feet is a time, not a behavior. Like if it were done at 3 p.m. and someone would ask you "what time is it" and you say "it is happy feet" then he would know that you meant 3 p.m..
Something I do all the time to see if someone likes me: Fidget ur feet for a while (they’ll prolly do it too) Then, stop all of a sudden. If they stop as well unknowingly, ur on their mind
For the head leaning : it depends on which side the head goes. The left brain controls the right part of your body and the right brain controls the left side of your body. Left brain = analystic, reason, logic & right brain = love, passion, intuition. So, if your head is leaning on the left side when you are looking at someone, this means you feel comfortable or you like the person. On the other hand, if you lean your head on the right side, you aren't comfortable with the subject that is being discussed or you don't like the person. Although, you have to look at other signs as you already said ^^
The feet parts can get confusing when you have adhd or some mental disease like it. Hyperactivity could make they’re feet bounce or shake either when they want to run out of the situation, or they’re mind is in a completely different situation. I would know because i have really bad adhd, and when my teacher basically put me on the spotlight and insulted me one time, my feet with moving so fast, my face was in a hand, and the other was crossed on the desk. and everything else but my feet were completely still, and my feet were bouncing endlessly. Conclusion: feet bouncing depends on the situation they are in for whether its positive or negative. It will usually just help blood flow to the brain somehow(idk, im not a physicist). aka when they are thinking alot and not acting on their thoughts
Idk why but as soon as I see someone’s eyes I learn a lot of things. It’s more of a gut feeling but I know how they’re feeling and other random things.

HAPPY FEET!
Doesnt matter, means the same
Great video.
Ps english is not my main language and im a little high from a joint so sorry for possible mistekes. x)
I'm reading the Book what every body is saying. Thanks Improvement pill.
SteamGaming I am too. Great read so far! Really enjoying it. 😊
Oooh. I was scrolling down the comments to see about what book everybody is saying
Yep, this is exactly what I use and it works with practice and experience. Don't be afraid to go and meet new people, learn the stories of the world around you
"SHOE PLAY"
me: "Oh, I know it. I do it all the time when I'm bored in a school."
video: "Flirtation sign."
me: "Ok."
Man I love your videos they've helped me out so much in school
If you play smash bros
YOU GOT A GOOD READ
IcYGodZ lmfao yeah bro
IcYGodZ lol after i started playing smash and got good at it, i improved in soccer because i was so much better at reading people. And i'm also pretty good at reading people in general now
Wait I feel dumb but I played that game..why would I be good at reading people?
Jackie in smash bros you learn to predict other peoples moves so you can counter. If ur good at it you can probably read people in real life. This mostly works against other players instead of cpu in game.
not even joking smash bros actually helps you read lol
am i watching this video and making actual detailed notes at 6 am, yess. why? yea i’m asking that myself too
In Germany we call the knee clasp "So!", because thats what we say when we want to leave.
This is by far the best video about Body language in youtube, i've learned a lot in this video thanks mate, and Keep giving us this kind of content !
I'm going to go around giving people fake body language just to confuse them
11:19 Joe Navarro in his book “what every body is saying” talks about the lack of eye contact. Apparently, if you don’t make much eye contact you are also signaling you feel secure with that person since you’re not screening them all the time and can confidently look away, without fearing any harm
Very dense, informative and interesting😮. Thanks😁.
When you almost always are in a posture that lacks confidence.
I want to try this but I don't want to give the impression that I have a foot fetish
Be subtle. Glance, don't stare.
Morgan in Japan yup 90% - 95% of the convo look at their face/eyes the rest look for other body language don’t be obvious and act natural (don’t stare at other body parts when not looking at the face just look around with your eyes and don’t move your head as much)
Hahahahahaha
hey I really liked your video. as a psychology student being able to read body language can be a very useful skill however I feel that you should have added how different cultures affect expression of body language as this can severely affect a person's ability to read body language in a multicultural environment.
I don't really think there's a difference at all. It doesn't make any sense. Anything why you come to that conclusion?
I bet he deleted his search history after looking for all of these feet pics in this video
LMAO
Underrated! Hahaha
Trying to read body language is never as straight forward as it seems.. I dont think there's anything more deceiving
Jeanna Lee haha right. theres signs but its never 100%
Amaizing. I recently started watching your channel and I gotta say those videos you're creating are actually true life lessons for those who understand to make us real independent people. I just got a sugg., keep continuing! :P
This is a helpful trick that i should try to practice to have a suitable coversation with identifing people.
This video just exposes my social anxiety
"Spend a day looking at people's feet
Hahahahaha
I think I have a built in body language sensor. If I know the basics about a person or I've just seen them interact with someone or something I'm able to tell how they feel or what they're thinking. The easiest emotions to figure out is fear, nervous and sad since people usually hunch down a little and kind of squish their body together so they're just in one tiny ball and so people are less likely to notice them.
I've seen this video a few times but I keep forgetting the bosy language signals I'm gonna spend a few days on each body part and watch this video multiple times. I believe this stuff is very important thanks for making the video 😊👋
With the torso thing, I just realized that I’m always sitting sideways in my desk at school facing my crush (a close friend)
The 'tilting head in disbelief' came up and I noticed my head was tilted.
Me: watchs this vid
my friend: why u always looking at my feet?!
Restriction of arm movement
Me an italian: impossible
Thought I had social issues but after watching this, I know I don't now. They went into specifics but all I really heard was "this means but also might mean" which isn't helpful to people who are socially inept. If you like someone or dislike someone, your body will do what it does naturally. Just don't overthink about the way you want to treat someone
"happy feet -- this is when". So happy feet is a time, not a behavior. Like if it were done at 3 p.m. and someone would ask you "what time is it" and you say "it is happy feet" then he would know that you meant 3 p.m..
Definitely gotta add genital framing to my repertoire...
Zach Williams
Damn girl you're cute ! ;)
I wandered why men did that but now I'm just flattered😘
Zach Williams
Until you hit a wall of Hahaha
!-_•
Zach Williams
Shut up.
Something I do all the time to see if someone likes me:
Fidget ur feet for a while (they’ll prolly do it too)
Then, stop all of a sudden. If they stop as well unknowingly, ur on their mind
lol thanks I’ll see if my crush thinks so
For the head leaning : it depends on which side the head goes.
Although, you have to look at other signs as you already said ^^
When their eyes are open it means they're awake 👌
Sometimes people will breathe.
This can be a sign of discomfort and/or stress.
It will usually just help blood flow to the brain somehow(idk, im not a physicist). aka when they are thinking alot and not acting on their thoughts
me: squinting
crush: whats her problem
me: still squinting
me: *needs glasses*
How to read anyone:
「HEAVENS DOOR」
Idk why but as soon as I see someone’s eyes I learn a lot of things. It’s more of a gut feeling but I know how they’re feeling and other random things.
Duuude this explains why most guys prefer talking when next to each other compared to facing each other. 😂😂😂Thanks for this video bro
These are all in the "what EVERY BODY is saying" book
I am happy that I naturally have the ability to read people like books
I hope you can read books well...
Fucking flamed mate
Nice video, you basically did me a favor by summarizing the book "What Every BODY is Saying: An Ex-FBI Agent's Guide to Speed-Reading People " which I think is where you got this informations :)) Thanks mate.
when i fake a smile, I get happy so I smile for real
i find it interesting that i paid more attention to this than my summer homework i'm supposed to get on. but i'll use these at school on first day, THANKS
