  • This fall is starting off on the right track! I have a number of finds from across the middle TN area. Once again, I'd like some input on an artifact. The last one in this video. Any thoughts on point type? As always, your help is appreciated. Thanks for checking it out and please like and subscribe!

      Thanks so much! I just knew hidden beneath that leaf would be a broken base. I just about cried myself when I saw it was whole! But thank you for appreciating the simplicity of the video. It’s not entertaining enough for some, and they love to tell me about it too! Haha thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!

      Thanks buddy! I appreciate you checking it out and for the comment. I enjoy sharing my finds with like minded people such as yourself almost as much as I love rescuing them from the mud… and from people that snatch these things up as fast as they can to go sell them for God knows what. I should have another video out in a couple weeks. I already have a solid lineup of artifacts for the next one!

      Man, I always appreciate the comments you leave. I’m glad you appreciate and enjoy them! I work hard to put these videos together so I can share my finds with people such as yourself. So once again, thank you for the positive comment and for taking the time to watch. I’m slowly working on my next video, and if I can complete it in time it should be out in a couple weeks! I’ve already done the easy part…. Finding the actual artifacts! Haha It’s a solid lineup of pieces too, so you won’t be let down!

      Haha thank you! Honestly, I feel like the luckiest person when it comes to finding… basically anything! Even as a kid I always had a knack for finding coins, jewelry, etc. in the most random of places. At work this week I found a Mercury dime on the side of the road! So random! I should’ve recorded that to put in my next video! Haha But thank you very much, and I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.

      You’re welcome man, and thanks for checking it out! The single notched piece (pipe creek) is made out of an interesting material. The rough looking part of it seems like it wouldn’t get very sharp, but it’s surprisingly just as sharp as the rest of the piece. Not that kids are all gung-ho about watching some old guy pulling arrowheads haha, but I’d feel better knowing it wasn’t foul in any way for them to see. A lot of these artifact recovery videos on UA-cam unfortunately, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, are often times almost ruined because of whats in the video other than the artifacts themselves. That’s mostly why my videos consist of nothing else but 100% artifacts. I’ve gotten quite a bit of negative feedback on my video style in the past, so it’s very appreciated and refreshing to get positive feedback on it! I’ve already got my lineup of artifacts for the next video, I just have to piece them all together into a video… you won’t be disappointed guaranteed!!

    I really like that first point. Looks to be a Sonora bifurcated Kirk. Killer! Killer! Killer! Of a Kirk! I absolutely love toothy twisted points like that. You find some good stuff! It's hard to find them Pinetrees with both barbs. That one is killer!

    • @Points365
      @Points365  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah man, that twisted bevel it has on it was pretty crazy! It also makes it where it doesn’t sit flat on my display table either! Haha But man… like you said, the barbs on those pine trees are notorious for being broken! I’ve got one that’ll be in my next video… both barbs intact! It’s a dandy too! Probably one of the nicest ones I have now.

    You had a killer month brother!! Loved the Pipe Creek and the perforator was cool!! As far as the last one, before you moved the leaf I thought Benton. Your production is pure artistry! Great music choice; what I like. Helps to rev me up and get me ready to go for my Winter hunting! I thought that the first one was Kirk serrated until I saw the tip view and the bevel re-sharpening, and then noticed what appeared to a burrination on one lobe of the base, and now wonder if its a Decatur variant? If that last one is Baker's Creek knife then it is is a record candidate for length!

    • @Points365
      @Points365  2 роки тому

      Sorry for the belated response.. but thank you very much! I try to keep the quality of the videoing up to par with the artifacts! Haha But I feel ya on getting revved and pumped! All I have to do is watch someone else’s pulls and I’m ready to hit the road! The first one, I’d say kirk all day long. I find a lot of them at that particular spot. It is one of the more odd looking ones found there though! I’ve asked a lot of people about that last one. Took it to a show and got a lot of input. If I were taking votes on what people thought, a motley variant is what most people thought. But nobody was 100% positive. Guess it’s just one of those pieces that the maker went out on a limb with when he made it! Haha Good luck out there with your winter hunting. It seems to be a productive time of year for me, I’m assuming because nobody wants to leave the comfort of their warm abodes! More for us!

      Thanks as always buddy! Where I found that artifact was just a random bank I decided give a quick look over. I often times pick a spot that terrain wise, looks good. Often times it’s a fruitless search. But sometimes, those barren, empty banks will have a random artifact laying on them like this one! It’s probably why it was laying out there like it was and hadn’t been picked up yet, since it was at a spot that’s not a known site. After years of running up and down the waterways, I’ve seen sites slowly reveal themselves. On the other hand I’ve seen sites that were once big producers dry up and not even produce a flake anymore. So I’m always hopefully searching for the next new site to open up as the end of another site inches closer with each passing season.

    That is a very good site and you found great points. I particularly like the first one and the turkeytail, but a really nice variety of cultures. The last one is very nice as well! I believe it may be a long, narrow hardin. It is likely a "hobbed" hardin (if it is a hardin) with theexpanded "crown" base. I am not an expert, but that's my belief. Thanks for the show! From the time we were kids until I married at 32, my younger brother and myself amassed a huge collection of artifacts. Most of it was found in Quitman, Coahoma, and Tallahatchie counties in northwest Mississippi. Some of it was once in a lifetime finds. One of our friends later told me that he sold it all for $300 to feed the family of monkeys that loved living on his back. That was around 1994 or 95. Things got better for a while, but I haven't seen nor heard from him in over 12 years. Maybe one day I'll go back to one of our best spots and see if I can't find the peace that both of us need!
