    I’m amazed at how everything’s in such good condition considering being buried for best part of 80 years. Can only guess the grounds full of clay and has shielded it from decay possibly. Great video!

      The mud has sealed off these items from the air which would have corroded it. These belts and other items will probably be in the same condition for centuries under that tightly packed clay.

    I worked on the island of Guadalcanal about 10 years ago. I found everything from pistols, bayonets, helmets, water canteens, Japanese spectacles, exploded mortars, machine guns including a Thompson, revolvers, US dog tags, US tank, P-38 Lightning and a US trench knife with brass knuckles and 5 notches on the handle. All you need is a metal detector.

    If you do more. You may want to look into keeping some of those items wet until boiling in oil. You can get very fast decay. That oxidation has been waiting for years for more oxygen. A lot like scuba treasure leather rubber brass glass don't seem to decay. The leather shoes by titanic NOTHING else left but pairs of shoes next to each other.

    How do find these spot to dig on?

    • @wwiituberestoration1011
      @wwiituberestoration1011  Рік тому

      I check with a metal detector and if there is a signal, I dig. And even if there is no signal, I also dig. Several empty bunkers come across a bunker with finds.

    I would seriously like to ask what your asking price is for the belt w/aluminum buckle, the magazine pouches and the bayonet w/ frog? Those are pristine for being in the mud for as long as they have been. They would be an excellent addition to the Mauser 98k that I have. Thank you.
