- Brissago is a splendid village in Ticino and is the lowest point in Switzerland. The village lies on the steep slopes of the beautiful Lago Maggiore near the border with Italy at only 197 metres above sea level. Brissago is nor far from the cities of Ascona and Locarno.
The oldest part of the village is on the lake and includes the picturesque harbour and the beautiful Renaissance church of San Pietro e Paolo, surrounded by centuries-old cypress trees.
The small lakeside promenade with its beautiful view of Lake Maggiore invites you to stroll and eat in one of the good restaurants.
