- Disentis is a beautiful holiday resort in Switzerland and lies at 1,130 metres above sea level. The most famous highlight of Disentis is the Benedictine monastery, which was founded back in 720. Disentis is a freeride Eldorado in winter, but also offers beautiful pistes and a cross-country ski trail. In summer, you can go hiking, biking or gold panning.
In Disentis, a locomotive change is made for the Glacier Express so that it can pull the train over the cogwheel sections to Zermatt.

Disentis is a lesser-known place, although it is an important place in terms of transport links and you can enjoy a lovely holiday there 😃 A week ago we had a lot of snow but unfortunately it is now warm and raining a lot and the snow is gone again.
