- Second film that Ralph Bakshi wrote and directed for the What A Cartoon series. Dialog recording, sound design and mixing by Roy Yokelson - Antland Productions at Soundtrack, NY.
Ralph Bakshi made this? That's amazing! 😍
i would have loved to see this become a full show
First, Ralph Bakshi was the animator in the 60's Terrytoon cartoons. Then, he's the director of any movie such as Fritz the Cat. Finally, he works on two shorts from What A Cartoon show on Cartoon Network.
And he was also the director of the movie, "Cool World".
Change turn channel cartoon cartoon show
Definitely has a Cool World vibe. Haven't watched these cartoons since I was a kid.
i wish ralph made more, these just get so weird and i love it
I just hope that the SJWs won't feel offended by this kind of animation.
Ralph Bakshi at his best.
This may not be the same animation style of _American Pop_ or _Lord of the Rings_ , but this is Grade-A Bakshi animation.
Imagine if Bakshi and his crew here made Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat?
It'd be more than twisted
This is the most Ralph Bakshi thing I've ever goddamn seen. I take it Spicy City was being made around the same time.
Malcom and Melvin can play the trumpet, Say-Wen can sing, Bunky can strum and play on the big bass violin, Melvin's mom can sing backup, and I can play the drums and piano.
this is some crazy funny stuff
*I FUCKIN LOVE RALPH BAKSHI*
2:26 as soon as she said that immediately thought, “Please don’t go where I think this is going.”
2:36..... Dammit lol
Hey Roy! Do you have any other pilots that aired as a "What A Cartoon!"
+What a Cartoon! Only the prequel to this one: "Malcolm and Melvin" - already posted. I don't think there were any more - the only 2 that I worked on anyway.
Roy Yokelson Ok! Thank you for the reply. I really like these two.
My client!
*ROO-AAR!*
I could have seen this show on Adult Swim.
It aired on Adult Swim today. Seriously.
This was never shown in Pakistan way back. This is the first time I am watching this
I think that that chapter was a satire of the society. The clown's mother is a victim of her abusive boyfriend and those people who are anti jazz remind me some people like who burnt the disco in 79-80, those terrorist in syria and iraq, nazis when they burnt the books, etc. In addition, how some people are discriminated by their appearance such as that beatle.
Screwy, ain't it? :)
That was the tagline for Cartoon Network.
Yep, that's exactly where I heard it from. :)
... what the hell?!
+JimB 1985 Yeah, that Ralph Bakshi - crazy!
6:50 Oh, shut up!
That super hero calls melvin a pervert!
That narrator sounded like Mel "Aku Aku" Winkler
I know both this and Malcolm & Melvin are weird to watch.
But strangely enough, I feel that M&M had the better animation
Up and Shoryuken'd his ass
is this cool world?
No, dude. That movie was 24 years ago.

this was too risqué? Wut?
family guy stole this style.
+Zangdoodle For Pete's Sake
Seth McFarlane worked for Hanna barbera pre family guy
Zangdoodle this looks nothing like family guy
cartoonboy03 : MacFarlane never animated or was designer at Hanna-Barbera, m8.. He served as a writer exclusively ; Writing for Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory, & Cow and Chicken.
Those shows were co produced at Hanna Barbera.
