*No levels of breakdowns will cleanse me from this...*
*Also, it seems a few people are taking this very seriously, I actually had a lot of fun and took away a few things I really like from the genre. I made fun of it just like I make fun of any metal of genre I actually do really like. I think people should explore any genre, even ones they may hate, because all genres have something to offer that you can take as an influence and incorporate into crabcore.*
Cover some Brad Paisley solos.
I saw a video of John5 doing the chicken pickin thing and that shit looks hard af I ain’t gonna lie butttttttttt I don’t know why anyone would learn such a hard technique just to still sound like a lame country player
I was dying the whole time 💀 😭 🤣 forgive us viewers satan
I'm a simple m....WTF IS THIS!? To be honest I only bled out of one ear during this.
You gotta try some brad paisley that guy shreds. Good luck
country is just metal that's slower, has no distortion, and uses beer instead of blood.
Thrash metal has more beer than country tho...
@@charliemitchell295 I wonder about that. Country probably has more whiskey than Thrash and definitely has more songs about killing a cheating lover or love triangle rival.
bluegrass on the otherhand... more alcohol and speed than your average metal
Idk Cash is pretty dark.

Also metal musicians: "You can't key someone's car because they did something bad to you, thats a f e l o n y!"
Yeah, we just gonna ignore the fact that black metal dudes burned churches, lmao.
@@Mavvyd96 yes 😌
Just facts
@ihate names Scandinavians involved in some black metal bands. Or at least one of them was.
There was a black metal band called Mayhem, where the guitarist murdered the bassist. The lead singer committed suicide. I'm pretty sure there are instances of cannibalism somewhere in the scene too. It was dark, indeed.
"This is sheet music. Scary scary"
Yeah same.

@@FamineWolf same lol we got ska, ska punk, ska core, now progressive technical ska

As a mom who mostly listens to rock/metal, while at the same time has a daughter that’s a country recording artist, this hits home. I like old country alright, but I do think that people who aren’t just pretentious purists will find that there is something to appreciate or at least learn from country artists and the genre, even if it isn’t their “thing.”
I don’t like to bring up Post Malone on a metal video, but that dude just freaking LOVES all kinds of music, and wants to collab with George Strait. I respect that kind of mentality and open mindedness.
True, I would listen to almost any kind of music if it’s good for its genre
"You can't key someone's car cuz they did something bad to you. That's a felony."

Heck yeah.
Make it happen Nik.
Carrie Underwood is surprisingly violent for a country artist. Destroys a dudes ride and takes vengeance upon her abusive father by allowing the raw forces of nature to kill him. Metal af.
I've never liked country music - can't stand it, actually - but I've always respected the hell out of the guitar players. A lot of those players can positively shred on a Tele.
Try playing some Brad Paisley licks, dude surprisingly rips on guitar.
The only country artist I will listen to because of how hard he rips. Playing live he has even more fun with all his solos.
Surprisingly? Come on! Keith Urban is pretty sick as well.
Chet Atkins
@@Maitland-76 if you only heard his ballads or more pop stuff you wouldnt expect it from him. When i first heard him it was from my gf at the time showing me some of his more sappy songs.
@@saintlotus93 Fuck ya! Paisley and Urban are two of my favorite guitarists, and I'm more of a hard rock/Metal head!! LOL
Play a few Brad Paisley solos. Then I will be impressed. Bet you won’t.
Yeah he’s a great guitarist and a pretty good singer
He also can play EVH hot for teacher which is impressive lol
YES! I don't like country, but I respect Paisley. Hella talented guy.
Oh my God, Paisley is a badass guitarist. Incase you havent heard it, you should look up "Time Warp (Instrumental)"
Brent Mason could play Brad Paisley under the table.
Fun fact, Jason Aldrean's (the big green tractor guy) band actually started off as metal musicians. They had a hard time looking for work in the metal genre so they turned to country music because there's always been a need for country musicians and recording musicians. The metal genre doesn't pull or make as much as country and its too saturated for sessions musicians. One of his guitar players even use a lot of gear catered towards metal music (like the EVH 5150 III) and is even open about it lol
As a metal musician who grew up in the rural midwest, I can tell you many metal musicians here also grew up on country and do play country from time to time.
Hey, Nik, try some bluegrass music. There's a lot of speed picking and strumming in it
When country musicians level up enough they evolve into bluegrass musicians.
@@EPTR1CKS nah, they're just different styles. Brad Paisley could outplay tons of bluegrass players. That being said, would be sweet to hear Brad work on some bluegrass!
What’s the country equivalent of Berkeley
Pat Flynn could shred.
Or just listen to Panopticon
As a metalhead I’m often stunned at the level of technical virtuosity of many country players (not the ones generally hitting the mainstream) a lot of them are equally talented as many metal players. It’s in a way an entirely different skill set but it’s got to be very different.
yep. Billy Strings all the way.
ua-cam.com/video/fJmzS_Redh8/v-deo.html
Dude definitely! Guys like Danny Gatton and Jr. Brown are straight up mind blowing.
Yeah, don't really get the hate. Hank Williams III plays country and was in a metal band.
Unfortunately Nik wouldn't know it because he refuses to listen to more country music. I'm a big city person who listens mostly to rock and metal, but I love some modern country precisely because of some great guitar solos in many country songs.
@@twistedmystik2272 heck yeah man superjoint ritual ftw
"Every metalheads nightmare." See, I thought I was a freak cause I liked learning/playing country licks, but then I found John 5 years later and realized it isn't so bad being a weirdo.
I was actually a country music fan long before I became a heavy metal fan, and I'm still a country music fan provided it's real country, not that pop-country crap they play on mainstream radio these days.
I grew up in texas in the 90s and my parents listened to a lot of Garth Brooks so it has a nostalgic place in my heart. Seeing Nik try and learn it made my week. Lmao
It's scary
“Oh this is sheet music, scary,” is me when I’m trying to find tabs for some weird song lol
I actually fear tabs. Classical music lol

As a metal and country fan, I appreciate it. Both have some nice bluesy scales
Thing about country music is that the rhythm guitar is hilariously easy chord strumming, but the lead stuff can be pretty hard with all that "chicken pickin'" .
So when are you going to go full Worsnop and release a country album Nik?
At first glance I thought it said “Metal guitarist tries leaving country”... and my brain died for a second 🤣
I think we need him to make a full song, demonstrating his country mastery
Imagine the most vanilla tone, vanilla lyrics, and vanilla beat, and you'd still have more soul than pop country.
I’m a metal head am I actually enjoy a lot of country.
Same it’s the only two genres I listen to
We exist haha
@@averym1539 Not for long.
Country is like Nickelback, people only hate it because they’re told to
It's pop music, but with guitar solos and lyrics about trucks and beer. What's not to like?
Brad Paisley has some damn good guitarwork, I highly recommend any of his songs for playing country guitar.
Or Keith Urban
I do enjoy my Colter Wall country, you know, without the claps, pop structure, trucks and bros.
This humor made my morning! Such a funny video.

Yes.
As a person from deep south Tennessee and being around Nashville country music is everywhere and you can't escape it
3:36 this has happened to every guitarist lmfao
I thought that was going to be the "ahh, sheet music. Scary" haha
This is great 😂😂 I love country and I love metal even more
So damn funny. Love this channel.
You're using the wrong strings. You need to strap some International Harvester fuel lines onto that guitar for it to sound authentic. It also helps if you have someone drumming on some Ford F-350 King Ranch brake rotors to keep the beat too
Tyler Childers is pretty damn good for country...
I know Tyler his wife is from my hometown! Great down to earth people fr.
Dude puts on a hell of a show too!
Insane song writer.
Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins, Danny Gatton, Vince Gill, Roy Clark, Glen Campbell and Albert lee are just a few of the great players in that genre.
This is great! :,D

Country is as wide as metal. From cow to blues. My parents played country back in 70's. I actually know Lonstar personslly (you mentioned him).
Dude you kill me lol don't stop keep it coming
Pantera and Down made it work and I think that thanks to your recent Bluesy venture, it will be much easier since its roots are in blues!
That song about keying someone's car has always pissed me off!
Nik is the most stereotype metal guitarist that your eyes can see and l love it
I'm a metalhead to the core, but there was some damn good country music with incredible instrumentals from the late 80s to the late 2000s. If you want to hear some incredible guitar playing, listen to Brad Paisley's instrumental tracks! MF can SHRED and is criminally underrated!!
"Is country just blues with more goats?"
Yeah, pretty much
Country is just the dark web of music
😂😂😂
Summed it up perfectly
GG
Unlike a Rock album, you don't hear the Devil's voice if you play it backwards. You improve your life by getting back all the stuff you lost.
the amount of amazing quotes in this video
Im glad good ol country popped up like garth. 90s country was bangin!
Brad paisley is actually a really solid guitarist looks up some of his songs he can shred
“Is country just blues with more goats??”
As a country fan, I thoroughly enjoyed this video.
Before covid, I actually was doing live mixing gigs for a bar, and every wednesday night was bluegrass night and was broadcast on the radio. I didn't initially like bluegrass, but the tone of the more unconventional instruments and the weirdly "shreddy" nature made it incredibly interesting and fun. :)
"oh no that's sheet music, scary, SCARY!"
-as a double bass player, that made me laugh so goddamn hard
I was expecting Brad Paisley - Nervous Breakdown to come up, sad it didn't.
Loved that haha. Literally laughing aloud in the break room of my office.
This is ridiculously enjoyable.
All the songs were pop country🤦🏻♂️
Yeah he should have played some Brad paisley or that old guitarist that i forgot his name
Chett Akins and Glenn Campbell is who I was thinking of
I'm in the area where Johnny Cash was born and raised often.
We have way too much country shit stations on the radio.
Billy Strings... thank me later. Dude SHREDS!
ua-cam.com/video/fJmzS_Redh8/v-deo.html
Try some colter wall, Charles crockett, or lost dog street band
I am a metalhead, but from time to time I like to listen to country music. These songs were I'd say more pop than country though. But try Blues Saraceno Dark country, these are songs to listen to on a long drive. At least for me.
This video had me in tears.
The "crunch" part on before he cheats was pretty rad ngl
"Front porch couch" is a brilliant way to describe it.
New Architects my duuuuuuudee!!
this shit has me dying! definitely more of these types of vids!
I completely relate to this video working in retail. The nickelback comment was very funny
No Big Iron?
Preach!
“Oh I get it, it’s like nickelback!” 💀😂😂😂
Killing me with these thumbnails Nik :)
This man is humble. I like that.
Idk why metalheads hate country so much, I used to listen to it all the time before diving into metal.
I’m from Tennessee so obviously I grew up with a lot of country music, and there are some extremely skilled musicians in the genre. I love metal more than anything, but just because they aren’t screaming and wailing away on the 21st fret and chugging on an open A doesn’t mean it’s not good😂
@@cmillivol98 Tennessean here, I agree. Nik's approach to country like, "Oh god oh fuck, I hope my ears don't bleed" is stupid. Country is pretty good, and it does take skill.
Im guessing because when the average joe thinks of country, they think of the hyper-generic stadium country
Because it's boring as shit and puts people to sleep
Roadkill Potato ah right, cool opinion bro
the amount of brainpower required for this is outrageous🤦♂️
“ah, sheet music, scary”

that country licks on guitar was cool but if you wanna listen and to play rock country music, I recommend you to listen green day's dominated love slave. It's catchy but it's also country song too!
