    Awesome video! Thank you for sharing. What is the primary purpose of the camellia oil do in the last step? Thanks!

    • @SilverMeister
      @SilverMeister  2 роки тому

      Camellia oil is vegan oil.
      The reason for applying oil is to delay
      and protect the oxidation of the silver surface.
      A very thin oil film protects the surface.
      After applying the oil, clean it again to finish.
      The camellia oil that I use is safe to eat.
      It is a very good natural oil that is harmless to the human body even
      when the ring is worn on the hand.

    Great video, marvelous work! I cut my own cabochons, but I want to learn silversmithing so I can showcase my stones in beautiful jewelry. Do you have any advice for where I should begin (other than your video library) i.e. books, other vids, and where to get a decent starter kit for around $300 or less lol? I just need a direction to start in. :)

      In Korea, where I live,
      Purchased at an offline specialized store that sells work tools.
      For basic tools, you need more than 300$.
      Sorry for not helping!

    I have never seen Keum Boo done with flame before, always on a heated surface of some type.

    • @SilverMeister
      @SilverMeister  3 роки тому

      Keum Boo ( 금부 )) is a traditional Korean work method.
      Since we haven't been actively using it in recent decades,
      Not much is known.
      I would like to tell many people the benefits of this work.

      If you can control fire and heat,
      It doesn't matter how you work.
      I also use a hot plate.
