Superlatives are just not enough for the pieces you create! The finished pen is Almost sacred to the eyes and definitely a salute to the brilliance of Van Gogh in creating shapes and colors with emotions. Perhaps my new favorite...so hard to choose! Thanks for everything you bring to us in learning and feeling the ways of the artisan!

@@SilverMeister Your videos are already amazing. The techniques you show are incredible. If I had to make a suggestion, I would love to see a list of tools you use in the description. FOr example, the drills you use in this video and others that have a shaft that goes down in the pen bore to mill the blank level with the metal shaft, what is that?? Also, the pieces you use to hold the blanks on the lathe. Again, thanks for the great content!

Great video and craftsmanship. Thanks for sharing. How can wood be so blue? Its beautiful, had it been treated or dyed? Is this what “stabilzed” mean?

    • @SilverMeister
      @SilverMeister  2 роки тому

If you do a UA-cam search with the keyword “stabilzed”, you will find a lot of detailed information.
It is a work done to permeate the dye and resin material into the wood.
You have to spend a lot of time maintaining the pressure.
It is a very difficult task.

I've gotten suggestions from so many people, but I'm answering again.
It is difficult to open an online store.
Effort and time are also required for continuous operation.
You have to check every time whether you can send your order to people
who order from different countries around the world.
There are much more areas that can't be sent.
      To do this,
You have to keep communicating through the translator.
I am a person who makes works.
Because you are not the person who distributes the product,
When you do these things, you don't have time to work.

    • @SilverMeister

It is not made of stone.
It is difficult to explain simply.
It is made from natural wood and resin, and is made by applying pressure and decompression.
      Search for "Stabilized Wood".

You really need to look at extracting the dust. I see a lot of fine dust generated by what looks like every sharp cutting bits. You can get a simple vacuum cleaner system and move the nozzle behind the lathe and drill press as you need it. Fine dust is pretty bad for your lungs and some woods and materials are poisonous. Stay healthy so you can make lots more!

I really enjoy your channel your workmanship is to be envied. However, please for an old guy more than old enough to be your grandfather, quit lighting your torch with a disposable lighter. The lighter is butane and it can explode with terrible force. I have been a welder as an adjunct to my primary trade and I was witness to an accident I hope never to see again. The man lite the torch with a lighter, because he had heavy welding gloves on his purchase on the lighter was too low. The torch instantly blew a hole in the plastic of the lighter and the butane exploded. He lost his right hand the surgeons had to give him a stub for a prothsis and he now has to use his left hand for any activity that requires dexterity. Please, buy a striker from your welding gas supplier or buy one from Amazon, you will make me much more comfortable. I am so serious about this send me your address and I will give you one as a gift.
