#jonsdiy In this video I step you through the process of making the Airforce logo out of Oak and Mahogany. You can use this logo by itself or continue on and build it into a shadow box. Follow along and see step by step how easy it is to make. Yours too can look like a pro did it. See it here in 4K.

That Air Force logo looks great!
Thanks "K" Its definitely more proportional than the first. Hope the rest of the box comes out as nice.
Jon, thanks for this. I've been looking for these instructions for a while.
Adam, Thanks for the positive feed back. Also Check out this video. This is the reason I originally made this logo. ua-cam.com/video/wfs8W8saUtU/v-deo.html don't forget to hit that subscribe button.
I am currently working on one for my sister who is retiring from the Air Force in January. What I ended up doing, was I printed out the logo I wanted on regular paper; took it to staples to get it blown up on poster board; used a box cutter to cut out the logo; and now im able to use it as a stencil and adjust the size with that as a base. down side: cost me about $15; upside: I have a stencil to use if I ever have to make another
Jol, I love it when people improvise. I'm a cheap skate so I always look for the cheap way out first. But great idea, but being a 28 year Navy man it just would not look right with me having an air force logo laying around the house. LOL Thanks for your comment and I would love to see a pic when your done. Thanks Jon
Nice work, Jon! Do you buy lumber from a big box store? If so, this is even more motivating that you can accomplish this level of work without a jointer/planer!
Thomas, I buy all my wood from Home Depot. (mostly Mahogany and Oak) I have a WoodCraft near by but its ridiculously expensive. Thanks for your positive comment.
Ever think of trying the Coast Guard logo?
Dermont, never been asked but I took a look and think I could pull it off.
