    I've been trying to think of ways to build a case for my great grandfathers service flags, he served in WW1 and WW2, and you're build has been really helpful. Thank you!

    Very well put together video, my father pasted away as well in February of 2014 and he was a proud Marine who served in Korea. So I thank your father for his service to his and our country, and hats off to your for showing your love with this video. Happy Memorial weekend.

    Wonderful Job - You have given me Some great ideas. The twist for me is that my best friend a retired Veteran, knows he is terminal. I Hope to let him see the box for his flag before he goes.
    Thanks Again and A beautiful job!

    My Grandfather was a Marine in the same sand as your father. Semper Fi to the last of a generation of heros. I'm about to build a flag case for my father's flag. He, like me, was an Army vet. It's been since August, but it's been tough getting started. Thanks for the vid.

    Great video and design. I am working on this build as I type, but would like some advice. The flag is tightly folded, but isn't that close to a perfect triangle: 15 7/8" x 16 5/8" x 23 7/16". This makes the angles a serious challenge at 46.3 degrees x 43.7 degrees. Do I just build it as 45 x 45 x 90 degree?

    Great job. Can you tell me how high you set your saw blade, so when I cut the 22.5 degrees, the case and molding fit perfect during assembly? I have the exact saw. My case depth is 3" and molding/ trim is 1-1/8 wide x 1/2 thick. So say 3.5" at 22.5 degrees.Thanks

    • @andressalas4266
      @andressalas4266  8 років тому +1

      Thanks for watching Ken! You know, I really had to double and triple check the height of the blade by eye to see where it would cut the miter on the tenoning jig I made. More importantly was getting the 22.5 degree angle dead on. I used a Wixey angle finder to help with this since it's hard to dial in the angles accurately with this saw. I crept up on the 45 degree cuts at the top to make sure I had a tight fit. Definitely take your time on this part. I'm sorry that I don't have a better answer than that. Good luck with your project! I'm sure it's going to be great!

      Thanks for watching and thanks for your service too!👍🏽. It was a standard issue flag used for burial services. I measured it once it was folded and built the case according to those measurements. If you are going to make one, I'd do the same. You'll have more accurate results. This was a fun and challenging build. Cheers!

      +Fred Creole Native Thanks so much for watching and the very nice comments. As far as a "muthamaker". Well, it's sort of slang, play on words. There's the english word, Mother F_____r, and it's a take on that. Not meant to insulting but a rather a compliment. I hope this makes some sense! Ha! Cheers!!
