I was fitted for the Sim2 Max after using it for a number of rounds I was able to test the Ping G425 and for me a much better fit. I ended up selling the Sim2 Max and bought the Ping glad I did.
Love my G425max so much. I wish it could be even louder. The sound really makes me so hyped up after every shot. I love it. It turns heads and it give chills down my spin every time. I barely miss the fairway with it and even on a bad hit my ball was still well in playable rough area. It's a ridiculous forgiving club. And ping customer service is top notch.
This is where I’m at too. I tried dang near every driver out last year. The TSi2 came the closest, but the G425 Max was clearly the best driver of the bunch imo. It’s the one that stuck in my bag. I’ve never been a Ping guy either.
Just picked up a Cobra SpeedZone Xtreme in very good condition for $180. It's not the longest driver, but I can't seem to miss a fairway with it, and it didn't break the bank.
The club head speed difference of drivers is mainly an issue with how Trackman measures clubhead speed. Depending on the COG of the head, Trackman will, unfortunately, read it slightly differently even though you might be swinging the clubs at exactly the same speed. This is one of the advantages that GCQuad offers as the measurement is based on the points on the face vs. the COG of the club.
I made a similar test drive a couple weeks ago at our local Van’s golf in AZ. My test drive was comparing my current Ping G400 vs new G425 and TM Stealth driver. The results were, the G425 was more consistent and straighter drives and extra 5 yards. The Stealth tends to fade to the right side more than G425, resulting similar distance to my G400. I didn’t pull the trigger, since I would dish out $600 with G425 for an extra 5 yards!
I have a Ping G410 and it’s the best driver I’ve ever had. Might get the one after the G425. Finally the turbulators and the sound don’t bother me in the slightest.
I'm not a fan of the turbulators, but side by side I have to say I like the look of the Ping better than the Stealth, including the face. The matte, larger footprint, sole and face all wins in my opinion. But Stealth sounds so much better, wow
I picked the Callaway Maverick for £162.50 two months ago, fantastic distance and on the fairway. First 🦅 ever and hitting 8-pw instead of hybrids or a 5 iron. The game is easier when your second shot is a high iron or wedges ⛳⛳ I'm a Happy man.
I played taylormade only for 15 years then switched to the g410 after my m5 busted during a tournament and taylormade told me to kick rocks and did nothing for me... now I have the g425lst and IT'S A MONSTER... haven't tested a single driver that's out performed it
Just switched to G425 Max from Epic Max LS and it's such an awesome driver. I can't however get over the sound of G425 Max. Thought it was broke 1st time hitting it.
I made the exact same switch about 1 month ago. I thought I had a fake Ping club it sounds that bad 😂 I hit it much better than any driver I’ve had to the sound isn’t an issue at this point.
I bought a g410 driver about a month ago preowned from the local pro shop never considered Ping but I hit that so consistent and longer so I just got the 4 hybrid. I’m 5 6’ and love the flat adjusting feature. Shoot I might have to buy the 3 wood next!
The 'next' 2023 Ping Driver, which improves the sound and loses the turbulators, will be the last driver anyone has to ever buy - good on TM for making their new driver more stable - finally a worthy successor to the 2016 M2 - now if only the could both sound like the new Callaways.
@@lawbinson I hate em, last Ping driver I owned was the G25, I think every Ping after the G25 was terrible and sounded like crap IMO. Hoping for the best though for 2023 when Ping comes out with a carbon face with no turbulators

I will stick with Mizuno 223 / 225 for feel and sound and Ping for the long sticks only.
@@JohnnyDSR I'd rather they go back to cast and durability. With forged, they're going away from their strength and are stuck in the middle where they aren't winning over the forged crowd and leaving behind those who have enjoyed their cast players clubs for longevity.

Just got my stealth I've been trying different drivers over the past month or 2 and initial impressions are really good best driver I've hit so far. Ive tried Sim2 max, tsi3. Sim2 max feels harder of the face and dispersion wider for me not as consistent on distance either Tsi3 similar to sim2 max dispersion wise couldn't get the required launch with it. Not as long as sim2 max or the stealth Stealth really happy with so far nice softer feeling of the face seems easier to launch and constant distance wise. Longer constantly than my sim2 max and longer full stop than the tsi3 for me. Dispersion best out the 3. Also tried cobra ltdx, ping g425 ping too loud for me. Cobra just somthing about it I didn't like but numbers where good just didn't feel great of the face. Again all these where for me.
Dispersion goes to the ping, sound and a little bit more distance goes to the Stealth...ping has it on that factor alone for me, also on the track man there is very little between them..but the price difference of these clubs is insane.
Nope. 99% of people are buying these off the racks with stock shafts. Best to compare them the way most people are buying them. You aren’t just buying the head, you’re buying the shaft with it as a package. So it’s good to see how as a package it performs compared to others.
Hi, Why do you have so low smash on your trackman? I've got the same problem with my Ping G425 LST, can't get it above 1.47 and averages 1.44-1.45 as you. Its not that you and me hit it bad, so why is it? Best regards.
I having a weird challenge. Maybes it’s in my head. I went to the Roger Dunn store and tried every driver. The g425 was my best driver. Then I took the g425 to the range multiple times and the course. I haven’t figured it out. I Got frustrated and pulled back out my old TAymlormade R5 driver and was consistently hitting straighter and had maybe another 10-20 more yards. I couldn’t tell but I was hitting the back net consistently, where as the G425 one one bouncing to the net…is this in my head?
For all intents and purposes with the standard deviation heavily overlapping for all values these drivers perform equivalent. If you fancy a new driver why not, but do not expect any difference in performance on the course
Seems like we're splitting hairs these days with the numbers. The drivers are so constrained by the USGA rules that there's not to much more the OEM's can improve on.
In distance maybe, which is why what they are working on is forgiveness. And they seem to be making progress, be it very slight with each new offering.
I’m not a fan of the Stealth look but do like the club. For some reason the look reminds me of the driver that you would find in a Strata starter golf club set and not from one of the top companies in the game.... that’s just me though. I have personally owned almost every Taylormade set over the last ten years upgrading to the newest every other year....until this year I went with the Ping G425’s. Not sure there better but at 6’2 I wanted to try the white dot option.
Smash factor is the ratio of your ball speed to your club head speed. For example a 150 mph ball speed with a 100mph club head speed will give you a smash factor of 1.5. 1.5 is the ideal smash factor value for a driver. Less for irons
Good vid, would have been better if you could have thrown the new rogue st in there as well. Good to see the stealth performs well though, not just all hype
As forgiveness is a big factor for these drivers, is there any difference between the size of the faces? The Stealth looks a little taller in the toe section and maybe shorter in the heel which might make a difference if your miss is in the heel or the toe.
The G425 is a fwy finder for me. It was the only driver I didn’t want to test (turbulators, sound) but it was the best fit for me and now I Love it. Shows the importance of fitting!
The sound of the PING alone is worth passing it by. Every driver is long and forgiving these days. Why suffer the hearing loss? It's THAT bad - especially with range balls, but even a premium ball is a offensively loud to those around you. If they quieted it down, Id play one. I play a tip stiff X-Stiff and that makes the PING even louder.
If anyone struggles with driver passing on the Ping because of the sound is madness. I have it and I agree it sounds bad but it’s a really easier driver to get on with.
@@rickylalonde2317 Likely because they sell the most clubs so by simple math, more are on the used rack. We golfers trade shit in after one round, regardless of quality - just after a bad round because we played awful.

As a newer golfer, in need of a new driver, how much stock should I put in how a driver sounds? Literally the only thing giving me pause about getting the Ping G425.
Only you can answer that question. The sound doesn't affect play, but personal preference of sound (and feel) is big. Ask yourself if you could get used to it 14 or less times a round. I hate the sound of many drivers, but it only lasts a second, so there's that.

Would like to see these on GCQ. That could be the reason the club speeds are off. I've heard the trackman is bad with accurate spin numbers and that will change a lot of all the data. The GCQ is just so expensive. Or I would buy one.
How can you make the introduction any cheesier? I tested this driver it's not even live up to the hype or worth me switching from my Sims, it didn't do a thing in fact my sims put up better numbers.
I bet that Trackman will be coming out soon with an explanation of the miss read of club speed like it did with the Maverick soon. Testers that are using GC are not seeing the same increases in results at TM users.
Great comparison as i have the ping but very interested in the stelth until i came to this review , for the price of the new tm stelth the ping is the clear winner
You need to tell the prices of both .. premium Stealth $850 ..regular Stealth $580 Ping G 425 max $550 regular price in the California Bay Area Ping had Labor Day 3 day sale $400 at GolfMart for the Ping G425 max just bought it plus Ping offers 50 percent more on your old driver trade in ..
Listened to this video with my earbuds (so my wife didn’t have to) and discovered one thing: yes that Ping is loud! Finding fairways to me is more important than that extra 10 yards.
Could not agree more :) loving my ping driver, but for me the ping g425 3 wood was the find of the century :) i hit it further then my ping g425 max driver ^^
I had a driver fitting yesterday, tested both of these at 9* loft with stiff shaft (which I was surprised to find worked best for me as a 24 handicapper) and the G425 was the absolute clear winner. For me, the Stealth sounded duller and had a dead feel whereas the Ping gave me better feel, distance and dispersion. I also tested the Ping G425 3 and 5 woods and found regular shafts worked best. If I’d ordered a driver on instinct without getting fitted I’d have gone for a regular flex 10.5* so I would’ve been completely wrong!
Wow what a great review,, very fair I gotta say ,Great job mike!! idk I'm loving that red face, even if there's no difference between the Sim2 and this Stealth ,the Stealth looks and sounds amazing!! I'd lay that money out for the Stealth!! Thanks Mike very good review!!
Lol yeah the stealth is obviously better for you because you're hitting everything dead center! That's impressive you should've had an average golfer do this test.
Just bought a G425 coming out of my old faithful Cobra F9. Tested Callaway Rogue ST Max and Stealth (the red is awful but you gotta think about the numbers not the look). The Ping was higher launching 'shape-able', straighter overall and just better for me. The sound is so irrelevant, why do testers mention it as making a difference to purchase? If you can hit it long and straight who cares about the sound, just shows how fickle UA-cam golf is eh. Loving my G425 and the sound it makes, it's like it is saying "yes there you go another one on the fairway"!
Totally agree on the sound thing. I am old enough to remember playing with persimmon drivers. When Taylor Made came out with their first Drivers and they were longer straighter and louder I never gave a thought to the louder part. Performance was what made me change to a metal driver. These equipment snobs would have you believe Pings sound as offensive as an old truck backfiring. All the hand wringing and pearl clutching over the sound seems like an OCD issue. Any well adjusted adult will most likely not even notice the sound after the first round or two. These equipment elitists would have a total meltdown if they went to a little league baseball game and had to endure the sound of aluminum bats.
My G425 max isn't the longest driver in my group but I can toe the crap outta it and it'll still find the fairway. Next Ping driver gonna be FrEaKiN LaZeRbEaMs
Once again a comparison vlog with stealth vs a n other showing no difference. No need to upgrade . TM would be better to go to 2 yr cycles and really find improvements, at the moment they come across as a company more interested in hype that help.
I got a chance to hit the new stealth. It's an excellent driver as long as you're hitting relatively close to the middle of the face. It's remarkable how consistent it is when you're off by 10mm or less. Feel is fantastic. But don't ever hit the edges of the club face because it's absolutely horrible. The ping shrugs off horrible shots and puts you in play regardless. Personally I would far prefer being in play. Ping for me thanks.
I've played Ping irons and drivers for many years, and much prefer the company and equipment over TM, but the new G425 woods sound awful, even a step back from the 410 series. I'm hoping they go carbon crown in 2023 like they had in the Rapture back in the day. Then it will be the ultimate driver.
Who cares how it sounds if it goes straight? I have the Ping G425 and couldn't give a monkeys if it sounds a bit tinny - it could let out a piercing scream for all I care, so long as it goes straight where I'm aiming!

Not a fan of the ping sound. My buddy has one and I've never noticed it on the course but in the studio it sounds so loud.
G425 was the best driver I tried when getting fitted
I rather like the sound of the "Title Text Here" driver. 😂
You need to tell the prices of both .. premium Stealth $850 ..regular Stealth $580 Ping G 425 max $550 regular price in the California Bay Area
Ping had Labor Day 3 day sale $400 at GolfMart for the Ping G425 max just bought it plus Ping offers 50 percent more on your old driver trade in ..
Are you using the same shaft for both drivers?
Couldn’t get exact same for both, but both were 60 gram X flex same length
Shaftoid alert

What is the shaft your using in ping?
@@MichaelNewtonGolf Thanks. Keep swinging!
I got the g425 Max, don't think I'll ever change... Maybe the stealth fairway woods tho😂
The ping is ok. Couldn’t quite get it. Almost sounds like a baseball bat too me. But the stealth is amazing. Just perfect right from jump!
Good Video, man the ping is loud!
But feels sooo good ,and the results speak for themselves :)
I bet the Ping G425 Max ends up being 1 of Pings best drivers ever!
If you removed the white dot on the left that dispersion ring would shrink dramatically.
Ping really has the best drivers , I really regret getting rid of my g400 ,
Just tested both, I was able to hit the ping just as far with a 3 wood Schaft as the Stealth with a standard driver shaft.
Lol yeah the stealth is obviously better for you because you're hitting everything dead center! That's impressive you should've had an average golfer do this test.
Good comparison. Not much in it when you take into account the standard deviations.
Very interested in a Stealth vs TSi3. I think TSI3 will stand up well against it.
Doubtful
@@kortvinyard4413 I have both. They are matched well. Stealth isn’t that much longer.
would love to see these against the mizuno st 220 g
🤣
I would buy the ping but I hate that sound!
Made that mistake with the epic flash. Best in testing for me so got it. 2 months later I got rid cos couldnt stand the high pitch tinny noise!
My G425 max isn't the longest driver in my group but I can toe the crap outta it and it'll still find the fairway. Next Ping driver gonna be FrEaKiN LaZeRbEaMs
When it comes to dispersion heads don’t matter as much as shafts.
👍👍👍
Once again a comparison vlog with stealth vs a n other showing no difference. No need to upgrade . TM would be better to go to 2 yr cycles and really find improvements, at the moment they come across as a company more interested in hype that help.
The sound of the ping 😖
I got a chance to hit the new stealth. It's an excellent driver as long as you're hitting relatively close to the middle of the face. It's remarkable how consistent it is when you're off by 10mm or less. Feel is fantastic.
But don't ever hit the edges of the club face because it's absolutely horrible. The ping shrugs off horrible shots and puts you in play regardless. Personally I would far prefer being in play. Ping for me thanks.
"title text here" lol
I've played Ping irons and drivers for many years, and much prefer the company and equipment over TM, but the new G425 woods sound awful, even a step back from the 410 series. I'm hoping they go carbon crown in 2023 like they had in the Rapture back in the day. Then it will be the ultimate driver.
Which ever one is newest 🙄
Who cares how it sounds if it goes straight? I have the Ping G425 and couldn't give a monkeys if it sounds a bit tinny - it could let out a piercing scream for all I care, so long as it goes straight where I'm aiming!
