Tip #4. I've been playing golf on and off for 35 years and nobody ever told me this. Went to the range last night and practiced for 40 mins, it was like being liberated to actually "strike" the ball for the first time ever. Great results straight away. Thanks Danny!

      I just don't see the 4 and 5 o'clock. Isnt the iron too high for 4 o'clock?

@@jschumme Real and feel are not the same thing, plus some golfers have more mobility in their turn than others. When you are imagining this motion to 4 or 5 o clock, take some video of yourself and see what it actually looks like. I'll bet it doesn't look like it feels to you as you are doing it. The key is split your range of motion up into 4 or 5 parts and that's the clock feel that fits you mobility. For myself, if I try and swing to 5 o'clock, i over swing and top position looks horrible on camera. If I shoot for 3 or 4 o'clock, everything looks much better on camera. So I have eliminated the idea of swinging to 5 in my swing in favor of consistency. If I had a tour players body, then things would be different.

I'm a new golfer as this is my first year. I'm currently taking lessons, but still like to watch UA-cam videos cause everyone has little tips, here and there that help in different why's. I've watched thousands of videos and too be honest I was going backwards in my golf swing cause everyone had a different opinion. Then I came across your videos, I made myself stop watching the other videos, not cause they didn't know what their talking about, because your videos are so well explained and detailed. This video in particular was a God send too me. This was me to a T, I used these tips the other day finally and it changed my game TREMENDOUSLY.
Thank you for your well explained and detailed videos. I can see your love for teaching people and the game. If you where closer I'd set up a hands on lesson in a heartbeat.

I had a score of 82 on one of the more difficult courses in my area last weekend. A friend asked me how I went from shooting over 100 to shooting in the low 80's in a weeks time. I told him it was actually simple. I paid a great deal more attention to the way I was setting up over the ball. Just by doing that, I dropped nearly 20 strokes from my 18 hole score. I'm so looking forward to trying the back alignment and squaring the club face I didn't know about (but I do now) thanks to this video. You have taught me so much and I thank you.

I’ve watched so many of your videos and you’ve really helped me in so many ways with my golf, but your video on ball path and shape and this one are just superb.
I’ve long struggled with low trajectory and trailing off shots, always finishing right. Pretty straight, not really a big slice or direct right shot, but always felt weak. I’m 72 years old and just thought “ well this is just how it is “. But after those two videos and changing my setup routine to really check ball position with my sternum and my arm alignment and the 1-5 arm lifting with my takeaway and the little wringing of my hands….it’s just amazing. I just hit 25 balls in a row straight to target line, no fade, no trailing, high trajectory and 150+ with my 7i. My 7i is normally reliable at 118 to 125. And those shots were crisp, I didn’t hit it hard or overswing. It’s just incredible to me. Thank you so very much. It’s feeling like I’m hitting it like I was 25 years younger. Just amazing difference.

So much GREAT INFO and VISUALS without the silly "entertainment" that most do! This was just awesome and made me realize exactly what I've been doing lately - ALL OF THEM!! My best score ever was a 69 on a course I'd never seen before - long but not too tricky! That was when I was young and before I started watching all the OTHER experts! I think I've tried about every method to try to get back to my 30 something swing but my 70 year old body doesn't seem to do what it once does. This vid gives me a whole new perspective on HOW to fix my crappy swing and maybe I can stop shooting 80 - 88 from the yellow tees! I LONG for the day of a really good, solid ball strike!! Thanks Mr. Maude!

I think I've watched almost all of your videos. It was not until you got to "4. You turn in the golf swing as apposed to pivot" in this video with the demonstration of the 12 o'clock, 1 o'clock etc that things clicked for me on why I drfit in and out of great swing mode during 18 holes. Yesterday, I deliberately practiced your example at the range and had an ah-ha moment. I've seen you describe the concept in other videos, but it didn't strike me as so significant as the demonstration in yesterday's video. It also makes so much sense in terms of the enabling more of a feeling of the weight of your arms and club together just falling along the path to begin building momentum. Your teaching is superb. I am a huge fan. Thank you for creating this channel and the volume of examples with alternative approaches to explaining and demonstrating key concepts.

Just started swinging a club again after 2 months off through injury. Spotted this video and watched it; it made perfect sense. I ended up trying to incorporate most of these ideas and swung smoothly through the ball. Took a few shots to start to feel the difference, but after that.....for the first time in 20 years, I had some kind of control over my swing - nice, tidy little draw shots, repeating swing after swing. I reckon that if I can work this in over the Winter, and learn to trust it, I might just have a decent golf game by the time Spring comes.... Thanks, Danny!!

I was wondering the same thing but I also saw a video by GOLFTEC that said you would set the ball up in the same place each time but it was the BACK foot you would bring forward for shorter irons and move back for longer irons. I'm not fully convinced on this but it this were the case, you could always have your sternum over the ball. This is my second year of playing and though I have drastically improved, there are times when it is like I have forgotten everything I ever learned for ball striking and there are SO many things to think about, you forget about some of them. The arrogance of a lot of American teachers becomes evident when I watch what would cost me thousands of dollars and not even guarantee me of a proper result, I thank God that Danny is not money driven or coin operated and his technique and the way he simply describes and shows those moves…. This man is amazing and awesome. Thank You Danny!! Forever grateful to have found you!! Cheers

Someone once told me to grip the club with the right hand from behind. Turn your right forearm so it’s facing away from you and let the club sit into your open hand. Then a little squeeze with both hands like a Chinese burn to tighten the grip. Worked for me.

As a beginner, tip #4 was so easy to understand but something i never thought of, especially thinking of the backswing with the beginner-mindset. I believe this is why my trail arm is so tight/close to my body in the back swing. Great stuff and thank you

Hmm, possibly one of the best videos I’ve seen. Something for everyone in here. Personally, this has helped me realise and feel the difference between turn and coil. Your “clock method” has really made it click for me and I was deffo turning and therefore swaying before. Just had a quick range session and this had made a lot of difference. Thanks for putting up with the rain, it was worth it.

Okay so I’ve never commented on anything, ever! But this video was so helpful, I must.
I just hit 80 balls on the range and it was an awful session. Then I played 9 holes and that too was awful.
So I sat in the car and came across this video and thought okay, I’ll go and hit another 25 balls and put your teachings in place.
Wow. Every ball went straight or a slight draw.
Thumbs up and follow from me! You helped me so much so I can only thank you! Top bloke

I've come to believe that a lot of the reason us amateurs do so many of the weird stuff we do to try and hit a golf ball is because we have been taught so repeatedly not to roll over the clubface. That leads to never releasing the club. I recently had an epiphany that I needed much more release in my swing. The difference is that release is coming mostly after I've hit the ball. I realized that aiming to release the club after the ball causes me to square the face through the ball. I never understood fully that my left wrist does a 180 from last parallel to halfway through my followthrough. Once I got that visual in my feeble mind I am now just lazering the ball straight and I can now switch from a fade to a draw on the next shot. It's soooo awesome being able to control the ball like that! I've been watching your channel for a long time Danny and I've learned a huge amount from it. Thank you for your awesome tips! I'm going to go play today and I'm super fired up about it because I know I'm going to totally smoke the ball.

WOW to all the tips, but mostly tip 4 for me. I've been playing around 3 years, and shoot in the mid 90s. I went out the day after I watched this video, and worked on it a few hours at the driving range before work. Next day, I shot an 87, which for me was HUGE!!!! (I did have a few lucky putts lol), but I've never broken 90 before!!! Thank you so much for this invaluable information!!

Thank you again for another great video. I have been struggling so much and thinking about quitting golf altogether. I saw you video today and the tip about bringing the club up to 5 o'clock and the tip about wringing water from the towel helped me so much. We played 36 holes today and I shot an 85 and then a 76. The 76 is my best score ever and it's in a big part because of this video. I appreciate you say much. Cheers from America.

Thank you. I’ve seen lots of good videos on different on things but nothing has come close to providing a guide on swing path, angles and heights to take club to in backswing that then has allowed me to deliver club to ball as smoothly as that. Now working my way through your catalogue of vids. No idea what order I should tackle these though 😂
