Still reverse engineering the craft we have on hand to the understanding of our current understanding of perhaps thousands of years into the future works. We do not have the mental technology or the material technology to develop such devices in which to have a breakthrough or an advantage. There may come a day in the future, but in the meantime, we will still rub two materials in order to generate heat. We are so, so, inadequate in our disposal of thinking, material advancement needed to progress into any futuristic state of self awareness. This will be the main reason, very few if any alien entities have even considered our planet. Doesn't take a duck to know when the odds are against them.
