I made a scratching post with a fence post, some plywood, and carpet. My 2 cats have decimated sections of the post so I need to get some more carpet and replace the worst parts. Also to protect my couch I got some thin plywood, wrapped it in carpet and put it in front of where the cats like to scratch. The second has 3 sides, a square on the bottom that goes under the couch foot and to vertical parts that have carpet on them. A second peace of plywood for the other side of the couch prevents wobbling if you don't want or need to make one for both sides.
I got a cat food ad at the start of the video. Oreo clearly is influencing it from sheer Hunger alone. And this was a really cute video Shgurr. You did great!
My cat Nemi was a monster when she was a kitten. She quite literally tore the wallpaper from the ceiling down, constantly would attack a dog much, much larger than her despite being no larger than a small bag of chips. She would sprint and run into things if she was ignored and if it got bad enough, shed do laps around my room and knock everything down. I watched her bound from wall to wall to dresser etc. But shes mellowed out about a year after she was spayed. I kinda miss that side of her

aw heck yeah, shgurr video AND cat stories? awesome also, idk if it's just a british thing or what, but floor-scratching posts definitely exist because i have one in my house, one of my cats loves to scratch the floor next to one of the bathroom doors so we had to put a scratching thing there for her to attack instead, makes a lot of mess tho, it's not like- covered in the rough rope/string material, i think it's basically a bunch of sideways layers of cardboard in a box, it works tho.
Oryo sounds more like raising a raccoon than a cat, wow xD. Glad to hear she's chilled out, at least! Also, love the chibi style, it looks really good animated! And the sound effects were fun, your editing is great xD!
U can try buying actual carpet pieces and put it against a wall to get her to scratch that carpet and make it super soft carpet. U can get them in most Lowe’s and just diy stores Also love ur videos shugarr

I have an Uncle with a cat and I love him. He’s not a trouble maker but he’s also pretty anti-social. Sometimes we find him chilling at the highest points in the house. Like, places nobody can reach without a ladder. And he just kinda walks wherever he wants. Sometimes we’re eating and he just strolls across the table like it’s nothing. He kinda just keeps to himself and walks circles around the house and my Uncle’s pool. He does like playing every so often though. If you swipe your hand across the couch quickly enough for him to notice, but not fully get that it’s just you, he’ll start trying to pounce on it, which is cute, until he actually catches your hand and it hurts like hell. He also likes chasing lasers and at night he tends to get lonely so he’ll try to sleep at your feet or next to your head.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful tale all about a menacing, yet adorable floof. Gives me hope for my kitty, a manx named Ollie's eventual improvement. Getting him to achieve harmony has been a challenge since he didn't really get to experience the full family life with his litter. It's also encouraged me to do a little story vignette about the interesting cats I've had bond with me as my own
Simple style with smooth animation can help you really well with being productive instead of adding too much detail, keep it up! Also nice intro, it reminds me of your story times years ago
when it comes to the scratching post thing for oreo you could the making a small L shaped structure (made out of 1ftx1ft ply wood or something) and buy a square foot of soft carpet glue it down with the requisite glue for carpets and train oreo to use that
I had to put my cat Minnie down on the 2nd of this month (February), I’ve had her for 12 years and I can say this, Oryo definitely reminds me of her, only she was less chaotic. On a more positive note, good to see you back! 💚
I've had my own version of snake and Oreo (but in tuxedo cat form). One is a little PITA who doesn't understand the word "No," and the other was such a loving boy who loved his cuddles (sadly he's no longer with us). Though the other one has (mostly) grown out of his old ways, I can definitely relate to this.😂😅
we had the same scratcher problem with my childhood cats, what we did was we make a large wooden pole with four legs for stability, and wrapped it in the same kind of carpet. If you take a cloth and have your cat rub it's face on it, and then rub the cloth on the carpet scratcher, it'll smell like it's hers and she'll be more likely to use it

My brother did something similar. He took some wooden planks and made a triangle then stapled carpet to each side, including the inside.
