"We are Motörhead and we play rock n' roll" If you wanted to make the perfect front man for a rock band well Lemmy Kilmister would be the closest I'd ever seen to it. He started as a roadie for Jimi Hendrix then joined Hawkwind then Motörhead. He was a hard drinking, chain smoking force of nature and the world misses him.
Lemmy was a member of the band Hawkind too , but motorhead was so influencel to Metallica and most thrash / metal bands ,Lars Ulrich(drummer) from Metallica called himself the world's biggest motorhead fan .great to see you back reacting , love the channel .
Met Lemmy several times in the 80's as i worked security at all the major London venues, and never mind his all out rocking, the fella is a comedian, and a real gentleman, also had extensive knowledge of rock, especially British bands and is a huge fan of The Beatles. RIP Lemmy, you lovely bloke you.
Saw em in ‘88 with Slayer & Overkill. As a drummer, I went to see Dave Lombardo, but it was Phil Taylor who blew my freaking mind. Couldn’t believe how fast he was. That man was putting in WORK!
Chod, thank you so much for doing this one..when i was 20 i moved to London and shared a flat with the late great Sandy Sanderson, bass player for The Pink Fairies(there's a big connection between Motorhead/Fairies/Deviants/Hawkwind and more)..we'd often go to Dingwalls,Camden,N London(run by Boss Goodman, former Fairies road manager) and we'd meet up with Lemmy.Top bloke, very smart, didn't suffer fools gladly..loved his JD+Coke (he moved to the US and started drinking vodka+orange-said it was more healthy lol)..Too many stories to go into here..best times of my life..RIP Lemmy,Larry Wallis(Motorhead/Fairies),Mick Farren and especially Sandy..i miss you man
What else can be said about Uncle Lemmy ?... He was a force of nature ! ... just stepped up to the mic, threw his head back with it aimed straight down the throat and just let all the awesomeness that is Lemmy erupt forth like a sonic volcano ! ... And it has such a KICK A$$ solid ending too... A MASTERPIECE !
The Song Overkill by Motörhead is some of the first double bass drum I ever heard and Fast as a Shark by Accept. I highly recommend both songs for early double kick drum. Crushing!!
The first time I saw Motörhead was in about 1985, they opened for Alice Cooper. I thought my ears were bleeding a couple times. Great live show, one of the very best I ever saw.
Motörhead is classic. Everything they’ve done is awesome. According to Lemmy they were “simply a rock and roll band.” But really, they broke through every sub genre of rock.

I saw Motorhead live twice in one night in 1981 on the Ace of Spades tour (with Anvil opening both shows). Now THAT was loud! My ears rang for a week.
The "classic" line-up? Lemmy Kilmister, bass, vocals; "Fast" Eddie Clark, guitar; Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor. In the mid-80s I read a review of the then new Motorhead album that noted "a sense of spiritual exhaustion that lends the record surprising poignancy."
Overkill is another great song by Motorhead. Although they have a lot of different musical influences they are considered Metal originally labeled industrial metal. Because of their gritty sound. Hard Rock is AC/DC and Van Halen.
Lemmy didn't like all the genre stuff. I don't think it mattered to him as he liked music from all genres. He just called their music rock n roll, although he did give a little nod to punk.
All the original members have Motorhead have passed away. RIP Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister Lead Singer, Bass player, Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor Drums, "Fast" Eddie Clarke Lead guitar. Another great Motorhead song ua-cam.com/video/EDB0dUWZUK8/v-deo.html. With 2 new members Phil Cambell lead guitar and Mickey Dee Drums.
This song is LEGIT ! I don't know if anybody has said it but Lemmy's real name is Ian Fraser Kilmister, but he got the name Lemmy, as the story goes, while in high school and he was kinda addicted to the One-Arm Bandit machines and he used to say to everybody, "Lemme a fiver 'til payday" LOL So like I say, this song is LEGIT !
This is the classic lineup of Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister on bass and vocals, "Fast Eddie" Clarke on guitar and Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor on drums. Sadly, they are no longer with us (Lemmy and Phil died in 2015 and Fast Eddie died in 2018). I suggest you check out their song Overkill. I hope you continue to do more Motorhead, I love this band.
At the end of shows Lemmy would pretty much throw his bass against his amp and just let it ring. They did the same at his funeral, couldn't have been better. Went out like he lived.
Motorhead fan for life here,,,i'm goinnt to sugest some bad ass tunes for you,,,the chase is better than the catch, stay clean, damage case, in the year of the wolf, ,,,capricorn and sweet revenge are great mood tunes,,, amazing guitar work .
Great one! can you react to JJ grey and mofro live version of Lochloosa Please or please react to Tommy Emanuel version of classical gas Always a great time
This is a great Gateway Motorhead song.. but dont think this is all they've got. This band has 40 years of great music, and Lemmy was a lyrical genius.. he just had a way with words.. his stuff cuts right to the bone.. nothing fancy, just honest.
Lemmy (bass / vocals) told an interviewer "Motörhead will be the dirtiest rock and roll band in the world. If we moved in next door, your lawn would die" 🤣🤣🤣
"We are Motörhead and we play rock n' roll"

Also roadied for The Nice & lent Emerson his knives to stick into his organ
Among people I didn't know in person, Lemmy is the only one where I felt really, really sad when he passed away. A real legend, and greatly missed.
Motörhead’s pretty much in the genre of Motörhead. They’re a little bit thrash, little metal, little hard rock & a little punk.
They’re like a drunken fistfight in a speeding bus that’s on fire.
@@VinzClorthokeymasterofGozer I don’t think I’ve ever heard as accurate a description of Motörhead as that one lmao 😂
'NUFF SAID !
The lead singer Lemmy’s epic quote, “…death is God’s way of telling you to slow down.” RIP

Saw them in the LA valley in 1980. Ears are still ringing

I love this. Balls to the wall.
THE ANTHEM for all of us degenerate gamblers!!! 👍
We, skaters., love this song..and Lemmy
The drummer is a machine.
The Song Overkill by Motörhead is some of the first double bass drum I ever heard and Fast as a Shark by Accept. I highly recommend both songs for early double kick drum. Crushing!!
Motorhead are Rock Deity. Iconic band. Don't know too many hard rock/metal fans who don't love 'em
The first time I saw Motörhead was in about 1985, they opened for Alice Cooper. I thought my ears were bleeding a couple times. Great live show, one of the very best I ever saw.
It's a simple, effective song. It knows what it wanted to do, it did it well, and it did it fast.
Hard Rock/ Punk
The 2010 documentary "Lemmy" is a great watch, with a case of beer and a bottle of Jack!

Still have my Ace of Spades vinyl. Saw 'em on the Ace of Spades tour. Welcome to rock and roll. Better late than never! Motorhead for life :)
Ian Fraser Kilmister (24 December 1945 - 28 December 2015), better known as Lemmy, The bass/singer
This Song will always raise your pulse
My first criminal offense? Shoplifting this tape!
I think Lemmy would smile at that. 😁
The Ace of Spades is the card of death. The only one you need.
Legends never die .. ✝️ R.I.P. Lemmy .. (lead singer)
Overkill is another great song by Motorhead. Although they have a lot of different musical influences they are considered Metal originally labeled industrial metal. Because of their gritty sound. Hard Rock is AC/DC and Van Halen.

I used to see Lemmy at the Rainbow a lot. Lemmy was one of the coolest people ever.
What did he say in this song? (I mean Lemmy) "I don´t want to live forever". Either God or the Devil heard him and complied his prayer.
@@SkeligMichael We all die.
Say it again, best rock song in history
I saw this classic line up three times in the early 80's. Utterly brilliant and so freakin' LOUD. Try 'Bomber' or 'Overkill' next
Lemmy is, or 'was' a rock god! RIP Lemmy
At the end of shows Lemmy would pretty much throw his bass against his amp and just let it ring. They did the same at his funeral, couldn't have been better. Went out like he lived.
this could have been called Nuclear Explosion and would still fit.
so fucking heads up on this! you rock!!!!
Yes, more drum covers when you are able to.
Please check out the band Leprous - the sky is red (drum play through)..... wicked cool.
Chase is Better than Catch.. best
RIP Lemmy
Quality, R I P Lemmy.
As a drummer you should listen to 'Overkill' or maybe 'Locomotive' by the same artist.

BABY HAMSTER!!!!
Which came first, Lemmy or God? Trick question, Lemmy is God, lol!
Overkill should be next.
Want a longer Motorhead song. Try "Overkill" (live 2004). 🤣 Theres no irony in that title. Imagine that speed for like 5 minutes.
You should do their song Born To Raise Hell feat Ice T and Whitfield Crane
Yeah, but Lemmy also said that "good manners don't cost nothing." :)
Wasnt that Pink Floyd.????
Metal/Punk
You should listen to the band the name of the band is the band name of the song is The Last Waltz
RIP Lemmy 🔥
You should check out motorhead Overkill the live version 👍
If you like this you really need to check out Band Maid . They have lots of great songs and they are best live
You got it backwards man. Other bands strive to be in the Motorhead Genre.

Stanley Clarke - "School Days": ua-cam.com/video/Xk_gzDQd4zw/v-deo.html
Less yak and more track.
I never could get into his voice.
Lemmy (bass / vocals) told an interviewer "Motörhead will be the dirtiest rock and roll band in the world. If we moved in next door, your lawn would die" 🤣🤣🤣
