Way, WAY underappreciated drummer. The whole "classic" Motorhead crew is. Several old rockers said Lemmy could play bass (and guitar) to many songs you wouldn't expect him to even know. "Fast Eddie" was an amazing guitarist, in Motorhead he held himself to "playing for the song" which makes him even better as he chose to be a team player over "ego guitarist". Listen to some of his earlier blues guitar work, he was beyond "just good enough", he was REALLY good. Phil Taylor was the drummer that really brought some "swing" to the rock party, he had such a different vibe. He just carried the groove. I know Lemmy loved Mikkey Dee's drumming (who wouldn't), but Phil just had "THE" Motorhead groove. Those three "classic" guys were MEANT to meet, and even though they didn't stay together, they showed the rest of the rock world how it should be done.
Greatest drummer in Rock Ive ever heard in 30 years. POWER, PRECISION and AWESOME SPEED. Simply peerless. Listen to "No Sleep Til Hammersmith" Album....
On December 28 2015, Lemmy from prostate cancer, cardiac arrhythmia, and congestive heart failure. His last show was December 11 2015. He was kicking ass all the way to the end.
Lemmy used to play in a British psychedelic band called Hawkwind prior to putting Motorhead together in 1975. They are considered the godfathers of speed metal and for a time in the late 70s Lemmy played bass with British punk band The Damned as a fill-in player. I've met Lemmy a few times over the years as well as the drummer in this video, Philthy Phil Taylor.
Before Hawkwind, Lemmy was a roadie for Hendrix, before that he played in Sam Gopal's band and before that he played guitar in Rocking Vickers. He was also played in Headcat (with Danny B Harvey and Slim Jim Phantom) - a band that played 50s and 60s rock n roll.
Please do more Motörhead, they are an amazing band with a fantastic catalogue. A lot of people don't take the time to read the lyrics and listen to the song that's written, not just the volume it's played at lol. Lemmy Kilmister was a true class act, and a very intelligent and sharp person.across many subjects, and he was a very deep thinker. Aside from his music and the legacy that Motörhead left behind, Lemmy Kilmister was just an all around badass, the last of a dying breed. IMO no other person could ever be as much the living, breathing, whiskey drinking, drug inhaling embodiment of Rock n Roll that Lemmy was. I know this long ass comment likely won't get read lol but thank you for covering my favourite band, it earned ya a new subscriber lol 😂 For songs, I'd highly recommend Stay Clean, Claw, Orgasmatron, or Don't Let em Grind You Down
Motorhead is AWESOME. RIP Lemmy. Some of my faves... One More Fucking Time, I Got Mine, Dancing on Your Grave, and the guitar in "One Track Mind"... MAN. He makes it SING.
Just started watching your channel! Bro it's 🔥! Love your willingness to go back to my teenage years I'm 60yrs old! Keep rocking! There's alot more! Keep groovin! 👍👍👍
Motörhead were an English rock band formed in London in 1975 by bassist and lead vocalist Lemmy Kilmister, guitarist Larry Wallis and drummer Lucas Fox. On 28 December 2015, Lemmy died at his Los Angeles apartment from prostate cancer, cardiac arrhythmia, and congestive heart failure. Motörhead announced his death on their official Facebook page later that day. According to the band, his cancer had only been diagnosed two days prior to his death Even though I'm not into heavy metal I do love this song.rip Lemmy.
please, try to listening a song "Ambil Kendali - MCPR" , i thought this song looks like use the same line, but it still great... warm regards from Surakarta - Indonesia 🇲🇨
The loudest freaking gig I've ever been to was for Motorhead in the late 90s at the House of Blues here in New Orleans... I couldn't hear good for straight 24hours... I had to get off the floor, everybody went nuts during ace of spades... It was freaking awesome, most of all I saw your boy close up an he was screaming it
Well said but you forgot to mention how good the lyrics were ,Lemmy was excellent song writer that was well written if you have ever gambled & played cards easy to relate to ,,it sums up gambling pretty much ,we are the road crew is another great well written song anyone who has been a roady & gone on the road in a rock band can relate to that one .
Really, it's a song about not giving a fuck. It's about going out and living YOUR life and taking YOUR chances at heart. It IS a song about gambling too, as Lemmy came up with the lyrics while touring Europe playing cards on the tour bus, but it has the deeper meaning of taking the risk and doing what you want with your own life. Doing THAT in its raw form is always a HUGE gamble.
LEMMY IS GOD!!!!!!!!!
Quite arguably THE true definition of a real Rock and Roll song! They pulled absolutely no punches and no bullshit.
It’s more hard rock than rock and roll. Rock and roll would be like the beatles and shit

I remember Hawk wind. I never knew Lemmy was with the dammed though.
@@clarkeyanc12345 He was as a stand-in in the late 70s. He told me directly that he considered The Damned to be the first REAL punk band

alright, guy.
"Motorhead" is slang for a speed freak! Can you tell?
Try Metallica. Anything pre 2000's.
It’s a great, great song.
