Yes! Finally some love for The Buffalo Skinners album! Criminally underrated and underplayed. We're Not In Kansas is my favourite cut from the album but Selling of America rocks as well. You give brilliant insight, too! Thanks for your reviews!
Glad that I am being introduced to more Big Country. This reminds me of another rock band from the early 80s The Hooters.
My parents took me up and down the UK watching Big Country (unfortunately after Stuart Adamson had passed away). They feel like my whole childhood!!
The Buffalo Skinners is a great record, and it rocks from the start. Alone is a great lead-off track. This was a great return to form after the somewhat softer, and disappointing Peace in Our Time.

Their drummer left the band to do session work in 1989. He did come back in 1993 (thank god) and played on the tour supporting this album but he didn’t play on the album itself but at least this time they hired a damn good drummer, Simon Phillips.

BC never wrote a bad note to my ears so I would heavily recommend everything Stuart ever wrote lol but I can definitely start you off with Broken Heart (13 Valleys) as another expansion to what you known of rheir sound so far. Also The Seer, title track of the 3rd album with backing vox by the legendary artist Kate Bush who if you don't know yet you really should check her out too.

Big Country released 3 classic albums in the 80s then had to struggle while record companies pretty much destroyed the band.
