Obi Wan deserved so much better than what he got, he lost his master, befriended but was unable to quell the worries of his pupil, gets wracked by life-draining nightmares for decades and when he finally mentors Luke, he's a withering old man who gives himself up to Vader's lightsaber.

@@geetslys Damn right he did, so did Anakin and his mom really, so many of these characters deserved better.

Anakin to Korkie: Obi-Wan's the father, isn't he?

I think the unending tragedies in Obi-Wan's life, some of which he brought upon himself, explain a lot about his dry sense of humor. It's something I've long noticed in people suffering from chronic feelings of remorse.

@@lucagerulat307 Yeah. When they were just together and enjoying each other's company, it was pretty clear that Anakin and Padme were an absolutely horrible couple. They didn't just have an age gap, they had a maturity gap that turned it into an age chasm. Anakin was possessive, paranoid, manipulative in an extremely childish way as well as filled with rage. He was also less feminist than Trump. He makes a deal with the Sith and insults the intelligence of Yoda before he talks to a doctor?! He didn't know about his wife having twins until literally the day he died. He seemed to have nothing but barely feigned contempt for Padme's work and career. -How it goes with satine??
-Well, the negotiations were shorts...
I’m 100% for the theory that Korkie is Satine/Obi-wan’s son. She had perfect reason to hide him (if anyone asks, I can explain the reasons), but the Kryze family (I think) adopted him as a “foundling” and that’s why he always called Satine “Aunt Satine” bc of the family being his parents, and he didn’t have a specific mother/father, he was the family’s ward. The math is shaky I know, but Dave Filoni basically confirmed it via omission and if I ever meet him I’m definitely asking him point-blank.
Well she definitely raised him . Either way. There was nobody else in the family and it definitely feels like a maternal relationship. They joy they had every time they saw each other.

He's as close to leaving the Order as Satine was about to ask. Wouldn't it be interesting if Satine bore Obi Wan's daughter... and that daughter met Palpatine's useless son... and the two have a daughter together? Then named her Rey? And all the powers we saw in the Sequel trilogy was actually the Kenobi bloodline and Palpatine's potential was never found on Rey?
1) it would be grand daughter, check the time frame
2) that would only raise one legit question. What exactly happen that the two ended up making out, but Satine didn’t confess her love?
If Satine bore Obi-Wan's daughter she would definitely hooked up with Luke Skywalker and the two would then had a more powerful force user a powerful Jedi the bloodline of Kenobi and Skywalker becoming one the granddaughter of two Jedi Knight

This was a great addition to the story, because without it, the idea that Kenobi would look the other way with Padme and Anakin is a little hard to believe. With this it makes perfect sense.
Jedi are encouraged to feel positive feelings for those around them (love, compassion, etc.)...unless you're Ki-Adi Mundi.
I think something that gets lost is that even though Obi Wan said that at her word, he'd leave the order, Satine herself was in love with Kenobi, the Jedi. The offer was still there, and she had his complete trust. They both knew that the role of Obi Wan Kenobi, Jedi Master, was more important than both of them. And when Obi Wan didn't have the strength on his own, drew on hers

I really wish Siri made it into the Clone Wars. I believe that this is something that most people still miss. You cannot control what you feel about something, but you can choose how you approach that feeling. For instance, I am currently angry with my brother. Not only did he not invite me to his wedding recently, he also did not tell me about how his wife expecting a child in a few months. While I am angry about it, I choose to not let the anger drive me to actions that could have dire consequences. I chose to not go see my family for Thanksgiving or Christmas partially because I know that it would be difficult for me not to call my brother out on not inviting me to his wedding and not telling me about the child he and his wife are expecting. I will ultimately be spending both holidays physically alone for the second year in a row, but I accepted that. Also, even though I do have a limited understanding of love, I think I could say that I do love my closest friends. However, I love them as my family because they've helped me overcome so many obstacles and pains.

The description is tempting me....

*KORK!*
Obi-Wan was able to walk that line (like everyday people) because of his time away from the Order and because he had Qui-Gon Jin for a mentor. If the Jedi Masters held to a similar ideal as it related to Anakin, he likely wouldn’t have turned to Palpatine for guidance. Heck, if Obi-Wan himself had tried to help Anakin with his issues instead of trying to present himself with his take as a perfect example of a Jedi Master, Anakin likely would never have fell to the Darkside.
That aside. Anakin was improvising with that last part about “Jedi are encouraged to love” as he was clearly flirting with Padme. The blatancy of the flirt is what led them down to that conversation in the first place. So we probably shouldn’t be using that line as an example. The Council likely knew that they had set Anakin up in hopes that he would either choose love and leave the Jedi Order or that the relationship wouldn’t go anywhere and Anakin would part such hormonal desires aside to focus on his Jedi training.
That's one hell of an emotional roller coaster in the thumbnail
Obi Wan was too afraid of the Senate.
Corgi Referred to Duchess Satine as an aunt more likely was the son of bokatan or another sister or brother of satine
I still like the alternate story idea where obiwan is co ruler of Mandalore and fighting for nuetrality during the war. Maybe playing both sides.
The Jedi code says that they can love just not form attachments which means he and satine most likely have a kid with each other.

🤔 . . . yeah, that perfectly makes sense. But to add to this, what would’ve happen if the Clone Wars was more Regular in its ending? What would’ve happened if Palpatine didn’t reveal that he was a Sith, thus leading up to Order 66? But more importantly, to this point, with the embers of war finally snuffed out, would Obi-Wan & Satine spend a night together & bear an heir to her throne?
You covered both love interests. Well done😎👌
Well..... there would've been NO Vader because Anakin either would've been rejected or trained by a more qualified Master. Love obi but like Star Wars Theory put it "Obi is to much of a Brother Figure, when what he NEEDED Was a Father Figure"
In the end, Obi-Wan was the best Jedi around. Only big error he committed as a Jedi Knight or Master was to not lay thicker hints for Anakin to realize the Jedi High Council knew perfectly that he had a romantic attachment to Padme but pretended otherwise to give him the chance to come clean and assign him a minor punishment...
I think that admission was legitimate and sincere, if Satine offered I'm sure he would have left as a padawan, but I'm pretty sure the ship has sailed for sure when qui gon died and responsibility is thrusted on him and no turning back when the clone wars began and needed competent leaders. In a way it showed how fragile the contemporary jedi code is. In old republic lore the jedi code at that time, after kotor 2, provisions to allow marriage for a jedi, among other reforms to address the near destruction of the order prior. Now in the high republic Era, the leaders in their "wisdom" rolled back those reforms closer to the revan Era, the same Era that caused countless jedi to turn sith and tear the galaxy apart as well as caused the near extinction of the order.
I still believe that the prequel jedi order was doomed to failure but ironically Palpatine made their end cleaner by comparison. You don't have a Darth nihlus binge eating entire planets worth of life-force or a fracturing order drawing countless worlds to slaughter. yeah, the empire blows up one planet and that sucked but compared to KOTOR that's not so bad in comparison to multiple genocides, the mass shadow generator, the hundreds if not thousands of worlds scarred or completely uninhabitable, and literally scarring the force itself. Palpatine may have unknowingly made the galaxy a safer place, and it's even safer now that he died, maybe twice.
Looking at you with that last line Anankin.

For everyone that keeps talking about how Corky MUST be Satine and Kenobi’s kid cause there’s nobody else…Y’ALL JUST FORGET BO-KATAN OR WHAT? It looks like Corky has some red in his hair, and the reason why he’s with Satine, and not Bo-Katan can simply be either 1) Bo-Katan left him to fight a war because Mandalorian or 2) Corky chose Satine because he believes in Satine’s ideology and not Bo-Katans. Not to mention, with the time table that we have, it shouldn’t be possible + Corky has a good chance of being Force Sensitive which would’ve been revealed, trained or otherwise
Dave Filoni has confirmed Korkie is not Bo’s child. Dave also implies that he believes Korkie is Obi-Wan and Satine’s son

Which is why the “clone wars” is a poor attempt to explain and show the conflict and issues the “code” caused

"There is no emotion" So, why do you think a strong emotion like love is allowed? Because Anakins tries to justify his feelings towards Padme?
“There is no emotion, there is peace” That phrase is speaking about a Jedi’s state of mind. When someone’s state of mind is in peace, they are capable of being able to feel emotions and release them in a healthy way. If someone is in a emotional state of mind, they are dominated by that specific emotion, unable to let it go. That’s why the Sith version is “There is no peace, only passion”, because they rely on emotion for their strength
It’s not about the complete rejection of one’s emotions, because then you would have to reject emotions like empathy, but by never allowing the emotions to overcome your mind
It was Guy Fawkes Day recently LOL.....
If you don’t have one, you should make a video on the nightsisters

OK I have to say this because a lot of people don’t seem to understand with the Jedi mean by attachments. In Buddhism which is a big influencer of the Jedi code attachment means an unhealthy obsession or fixation on an object or person that is a detriment to yourself and others. It does not mean that you can’t feel something for someone or feel a certain way about a certain issue. It means giving it the proper attention and focus. Then moving forward in your personal life. In fact Christianity has to a degree a similar ideal. It’s the idea that this world is transitory and Christians are not supposed to get attached to it. I don’t understand why so many people have seem to not understand or not want to give with attachment is. It’s pretty obvious what it is. It’s not saying that they have to be emotionless robots. All it saying is that yes you can have emotions but that doesn’t mean you get ruled by your passions and emotions. Especially when it gets in the way of helping people.
I think that people understand attachment, they understand not caring about things, and they're scared that the third option might be the best one, so they cling to the belief that no such option exists and ignore any trains of thought that might challenge this belief. As a result, when the Jedi say attachments are unhealthy, they think "the only other option is not caring about things, so the Jedi say to not care about things, which is obviously wrong, so my attachments are good and healthy." In short, they are attached to their misconceptions. The same is true for the other chronically misunderstood elements of the Jedi Code, which all come together in the question of love.
"There is no emotion, there is peace." In Christianity, peace is/comes from an awareness of God's (the Force's) presence and is produced in those with the Holy Spirit (Light-side Force users): God is with me, he cares about me, and he is in control; therefore, all is well, and there is no need to fear or desire anything, because nothing I can do or that can happen to me can change any of these facts. I had a hard time figuring out what peace means in Taoism, another major influencer of the Jedi and the Force, but it seems to have something to do with accepting your nature and the goodness within it and anchoring yourself to that (Yoda talked about people being "luminous beings") while accepting the flow of the world rather than resisting it ("There is no chaos, there is harmony") and letting go of the self (all those statements about being "one with the Force", which at the extreme results in a loss of individuality, as well as the whole light side-dark side dichotomy). It is possible to live in this peace and have it be the basis of all your decisions, or you can do what most people do and let emotions take over; the Jedi Code says that the former is much better. It is true that only the latter part (don't let emotions control you) is explicitly stated, and only in Legends (as far as I know), but it's extremely obvious to anyone who looks at the Jedi without bias.
"There is no passion, there is serenity." As you stated, Christianity holds that this world is not terribly important, and therefore you shouldn't be too concerned with what happens in it. Taoism encourages you to accept the flow of things and recognize that, while you may prefer certain things to happen, it's okay if they don't. Buddhism goes even further, saying that passions are the root of all suffering, and its ultimate goal, the state of being known as Nirvana, is achieved by letting go of all passions. Again, the absence of passion doesn't mean an absence of motivation, whatever it may appear: Christians, who believed that physical suffering was irrelevant and death was inevitable and, for the saved, beneficial, did more than any other religion to relieve poverty, disease and injustice, and certain ethical traditions which seem to describe the Force's morality very well argue that you should do what is right not because of its results, which are irrelevant to its moral value, but because it is the right thing to do, and therefore you should try your best even if you are certain that's not enough. As for how this applies to the Jedi, here's a quote from Darth Maul Shadow Hunter: "The logical, rational side of her mind kept reminding her that she was trapped in a tightening vise, but for some reason that just didn't bother her. All that mattered was reacting to the monster's attack, letting the Force guide her movements, letting it fill the vessel she had become.... As insane as it sounded, given the situation, she felt good. Better than good, in fact; she felt great."
Unconditional love/altruism: an unconditional love for all is a major part of Christianity, and might even comprise its entire ethical framework. That love is understood as a deliberate attitude towards people as inherently valuable, which manifests itself in repeated, intentional actions to benefit them in a meaningful and respectful manner, without treating them as either superior or inferior to anyone else. Due to the nature of the human brain, certain feelings may make it easier or harder to maintain this attitude and act on it, and moreover, when it is maintained and acted on over a long period of time, it will tend to produce feelings that make it easier and more pleasant, including compassion, empathy, and that joy which George Lucas described when discussing the difference between the Jedi and the Sith, but that is the only thing it has to do with feelings. Where people go wrong with this is that they firstly don't like the idea that you should do things that you don't want to do for the sake of random people, much less people who manifestly don't deserve it, and furthermore they don't understand the joy that is its reward--having never experienced that joy themselves, since you have to put in the work before you reap the reward, sometimes long before.
Then there's the thing about balance, but that's a question for another day and maybe another comment thread.
@@samueldimmock694 A good expansion of what I said. And yes I do think that some people are attached to their misconceptions. Because the idea of controlling oneself instead of giving into passions and emotions probably does not appeal to quite a few people because suddenly their ass to control themselves. And so they choose to interpret it as you have to be emotionless.
Nice breakdown on the various aspects of the Force can be explained using the real world inspirations
@@Toramai-pi8wx Thank you. You did a pretty good job too, and taught me some things--for example, I didn't realize the influence Buddhism had on the Force.
Interesting and dam Jedi New Code would’ve been interesting story Satine married to Obi while he is a master of the Jedi teaching Anakin there’s a balance of judgment and the emotions
Because of the repressive ‘ ideals’ of the Jedi they caused the continued cycles of sith resurfacing and striking out against the galaxy it also caused the fall of Anikin Skywalker
No Nut Naboo challenge: Go to Naboo and become a celibate monk for all time
(6:28) And now it's my job to point out that you're taking something that was said when Anakin was flirting, as well as that saying you're allowed to love someone as long as it doesn't ever go anywhere isn't exactly allowing relationships. You're taking Anakin's interpretation of the Jedi rules and then treating them as what the Jedi rules are - the Jedi rules aren't that. Attachment is strictly forbidden (instead of letting attachments form and letting its orders be able to have their own lives) - but then again that would go against Jedi policy of denying a problem exists over teaching people to handle something if it might become a problem, as well as that the Jedi don't want their members having anything in their lives but the Jedi (because otherwise they might leave, or start to think).
(6:47) Yes, Jedi are allowed emotions - as long as nothing comes from them - i.e. emotions if they don't lead to an attachment are fine.
(6:57) That isn't accurate. The Jedi, instead of accepting that emotions might lead somewhere, have a policy banning attachments - so the Jedi didn't help their members 'overcome' their emotions - they simply denied that a problem existed and would have no problem kicking out a member for the crime of having their emotions lead to something.
TLDR What you've said is nominally accurate - the Jedi are allowed to love. But you've left out some important elements - how expecting someone to not have their emotions lead somewhere isn't accepting love, or that the Jedi practice a policy of expecting a 'problem' to be denied, instead of accepting that its normal (forming attachments) and creating an order where someone can both form attachments and be a Jedi - if the order had accepted relationships, Anakin wouldn't have needed to go to Palpatine, and Padme could have given birth in the best medical facilities the Republic has to offer - which means that the final tipping point - Anakin fearing for Padme's life and being willing to do anything to protect it, doesn't happen.
Parts of what anakin are what was taught to him, probably his master, and just like what you said, the concept love in the jedi order is a tight rope that only a few can walk through. I'm not saying you're wrong, infact I feel like you are mostly right. But it lies in the double speak the code and many "traditionalist" masters of the order makes of this issue. As geetsly said the romance between Obi-Wan and Satine is the best case scenario that a jedi could go through, maintain a positive relationship but with discipline and measure of distance. However, as it has been displayed in many forms of media, not everyone can do that, padme and anakin for the of course the textbook example that a jedi should not have a relationship.
IMO? In regards to Obi-Wan ever regretted anything? It's not seizing the opportunity to run away with her. I bet my bottom dollar Obi-Wan regretted that for the rest of his life. If anyone here has ever loved someone that much?
They know WTH I'm talking about. For those who don't? They don't know any better due to lack of said experience. For those whomever fortunate to discover such a thing? Makes life way more interesting IMO.
I think Darth Sidious would have to come in person to curve stomp Obi or get the Jedi to send Jedi assassins I mean ambassadors to get him to stop helping the Mandos out. He is a pretty clear headed Jedi though the raw emotions of love would change him atleast I think without the council bounding him he would have to change to Mandalorian society rather than live with or change it.
@Geetsly's Ok folks the Effigy is ready. We are up after Burning Man.
Presumably the narrator of this channel has watched the Clone Wars series. So why does he consistently mispronounce Kryze? It rhymes with seize, not with size.
Obi wan embodies the true teachings of the Jedi.
Emotions are not forbidden, he even says it himself, they are natural and nobody expects jedi not to feel, but it is vital that those impulses do not dictate courses of action. Those spur of the moment desicions can lead to the dark side. Despite his feelings for satine, he DID form an attatchment to her, but he never let his impulses dictate his actions.
But what the Jedi always failed to realise is that it's a two way street. As we saw with Revan and Bastila, love can redeem a Jedi, and bring them back. Were padme still alive, she may even have been able to redeem anakin if she had the time. All she had to do was convince him that what he was doing was not what she wanted, that all she wants was to be with him and their children.
Love is a powerful emotion, but trying to cut yourself off from it can also lead to feelings of resentment, which can also start Jedi down a dark path. In the end, it was Anakins love for his son that redeemed him.
Corky isn’t even Satine’s son…he constantly called her AUNTIE Satine.
But with no mother or father in sight
@@layzboi2250 Well if Bo-Katan is Satine’s sister, and Corky is the nephew of Satine, I’m pretty sure the mother should be obvious. Plus he kinda looks like he has some red in his hair
@@ianferguson6244
that's what I used to think but I don't believe we ever get a scene where corky refers to to Bo as mom or vice versa. It's just a fan theory but I think corky is obi wans and Satine just told him she was his aunt to save political face or to spare obi wan the responsibility since he made it seem he valued being a jedi over being with her.
@@layzboi2250 Well, if Corky hates his mother, he probably wouldn’t refer to her as mother out of spite.
@@ianferguson6244 he also called her aunt in the lawless ep if i remember correctly also i don't think bo is old enough to be his mother in the clone wars she has to be around his age for it to work with her being in the mandolorian show, also i think dave said she wasnt
It’s over Anakin, I have the high ground
-General Kenobi
8:42: It's a good opinion.
Anyways, can you please help me make some effigies of Todd Howard and some fool named R. Pitchford?
Think it's pretty apparent obi wan has a canonical thing for blondes
By saying "Some Jedi would of done well to learn from the way he dealt with that love"
Do you mean "Anakin would of done well to learn from the way he dealt with that love"? Lol
...Obi-wan the Grey Jedi...?
Lemme catch my homie Obi Wan talking to women 👊 🤬
Siri Tachi and Satine.
Kenobi had a thing for blonde women, i see.
Does that mean all of the jedi are virgins?
Can I ask.
Does him being a jedi cannot have a spouse and a children?
Is it moral issue or just jedi code or whatever that keeps them apart from each other?
I mean they be together and never leave being jedi.
