I think shorts are really good training for long form content
@@BeatsByGamer86I wouldn't say so, if you use shorts as a training for long form you'll struggle to make long form videos because you're so used to making clips under a minute long. It's a totally different discipline.
Shorts bring in the wrong audience if you wanna do long form content in future,yes you do get a lot of subs,but watch time counts a lot and the more watch time you get the better
@@exploration-x i think that's why some people suggest doing both long form and shorts on the same topics / niches, and linking them with the "related video" feature to get the best of both worlds in a way

Great stuff, guys. It's always fascinating to see what the winning formulas are for different content tyoes. I also liked what you guys said when saying that, although other formats have their own viewers, you'll still be able to cater to the same audience within your niche on those formats (long form, Shorts and Live streams) which will help you grow.

Its has to be noted tho that cute animals always catch humans hearts and a large audience if the video quality is good -same for topics like money famouse people and generally relateable content of daily live..tho that cant really be compared to other channels like engineering, gaming... which from the start have a limited audience...
Personally i cant complain i havent pushed out very great stuff (yet) and still my current last 48h says 250+ views at 62 subs within 4 months...
If possible it be great to have teaching examples of very limited audience - mark rober for example has my mad respect because he managed to bring engineering to everyone and broke the border of "limited audience"

I reinstalled the extension, it didn't help.
I went to another account, everything is fine there. It is on this channel that the extension does not show the number of subscribers in comments

I have never used shorts for my channel yet, but I've been thinking about giving them a go here sometime.
I literally just started doing UA-cam, uploaded my first video, a cut verion of DD2 playthrought, I know playthroughs arent the most popular, but they are edited about 20 minutes in length, and at the end of it have a sort of HONEST OPINION of said series, reviews always do well, I personally never find short funny gameplay moments to be that interesting in youtube shorts, but this video is convincing me to upload the more fun shorter moments that might get cut out of the playthrough videos on to shorts instead.

I've noticed I get like 3 cents every 367 views. So if he did 367 x 275,000 = 100 mil views. that's roughly 0.03 x 275.000 = $8,250 x 0.7 (taxes) = $5,775 per 100mil short views after taxes.

11:26 The millennial pause is also know as 'dead air' on radio. Basically long bouts of time where there's no talking or unintended period of silence . That's why when you listen to radio DJs talk live, they do their very best to keep talking to prevent that dead air from happening.

I was watching UA-cam from the audience side for as long as youtube has existed, and I've seen it go though cycles. They always start the same, the algorithm shifting, creators jumping ship, a new atmosphere, then the algorithm shifts again.
We are in one of those shifts right now.
It will be interesting to see who the next genetation of big youtubers are going to be in this new cycle.

Kind of similar to Click through rates in long form content - swipe rate for shorts shows you the percentage of viewers, that chose or didn't chose to swipe away from your video on the shorts feed

Remember. When u export a short. Always export at 720p. That’s max gor any short. If too high it significantly lowers. Once saw a 8k sort look like it was for 1996

Yeah my channel took off the first two months and then literally out of nowhere it died off. Which is weird because my content got better because i hired a editor and thumbnail artist.
