Fly Fishing in Bosnia 🇧🇦 | My first visit to Ribnik - Part 1

- A couple of videos from my first visit to Ribnik. Ribnik is rich in wild trout and grayling.
However, due to the quite high angling pressure, fish here is extremely cautious and despite it's numbers, it is not always easy to outsmart them :).
This is first video of a series, at least one or two more will follow.

Thanks man! I don't think he was fishing upstream, as there were only grass. Other than that, I had no other choice to go upstream.

Beautiful Hardy combination! I have the Hardy Sintrix 440 for a 4 line, 8.9 ft. Very nice for dry flies but also nymphs.
This year I wil fish again in Germany/ SchwarzWald. Nagold and Breg.

I am happy with Hardy, although the reel could be better. In regards to the river Ribnik, you will see me walking through a school of graylings in one of the next videos. This river is just insane and I don't think you can just like that jeopardize the space of the other fellow anglers. However, I always do my best not to do that. Cheers

After 40 years of flyfishing in most parts of Europe still addicted. Also fished Neretva, Buna, Pliva, mala osna although very hard to get fishing licenses in that pre internet era..

Once upon a time, everything started promisingly. But people are greedy, and they don't care about the river. Rbnik dies !!! Year by year, the water recedes, and there are too many fishermen, too much construction, they have cut down many trees along the shore, and these cottages and restaurants are completely unnecessary. In 2009, the river was different - full of water, wild and beautiful. Now it's a sad sight!
That's is unfortunately a common practice at Balkans. The state doesn't protect nature goods, which opens opportunity for illegal construction on river banks. Sometimes the construction goes deep in the river bed as well. As long as there is no global ecological awareness in the society in general, I am afraid our rivers will only get worse with every year. Thanks you for watching and commenting. Cheers, Admir
