    Just upgraded to this from a 32" Samsung G5. Huge upgrade! Wasn't expecting this drastic of a difference going to Oled. So far loving it, and best $1,100 I've spent.

    Im using the 45GR95QE and it's the sweet spot for me. Here are my takes:
    - 3440x1440 doesnt stress my gpu.
    - More immersive than my 2nd gen G9 due to the better height of the screen. The G9 just felt like a 27" monitor to me.
    - Does not auto dimm as much as my LG C2 which was very annoying.
    - OLED is just a plus. I would get this even if it isnt oled. The 45" 3440x1440 is just what I really wanted on a monitor.

    Appreciate the video bro. I was on the fence between the LG 45 and the new G9 G95SC. What I like about the LG 45 is the height and curvature. From the reviews, the facts are the facts, I see more LG 45 owners trying to defend the LG 45. Hoping I made the right call with the G9. With BB membership 1650$.

    • @The_Donn
      @The_Donn  10 місяців тому +1

      I am glad i could help :D while the LG of course has its strengths its simply the truth that the G9 is a better product (at least on paper). Although the price itself is a bit high at 1650 its for sure going to be a sound investment for many years to come!

      @@davidp2847 it’s a gaming monitor however not every game is beneficial to play on a monitor that size matters. If you play RPG, MMORPG games I would say yes the G9 is a great buy. If you play FPS games moderately or significantly this is not the monitor for you.

    I was looking at this or the Alienware DWF 34", I already have a 34" acer x34 IPS, which I love and that's 110ppi. so I am thinking the DWF is best balance between 21:9/4k and ppi. I do have a LG g2 for console gaming which of course does the 120hz. the LG is in the family room, so won't be using PC on that. I dont know the size of your OLED LG B9 TV, but just to note that a 55" LG old is still 80ppi I believe, which I the same as your LG ultragear 21:9?

    • @The_Donn
      @The_Donn  10 місяців тому +1

      I havent looked into the AW too much ill have to do some research on that one! Very nice though! The G series will be my next purchase when my B9 finally gives out on me. Also yea the B9 that i have does only have that same 80ppi but it is of course a larger display as well as higher resolution which will more than make up for that lower ppi

    Can you suggest best settings for productivity with this monitor? It seems to be fading in and out even scrolling web pages, and some tabs look good while others aren't bright enough. I'll return if I have to, but the screen size is what I needed it for to edit web pages. Really hoping to nail this down, thanks!

      i know exactlty what youre talking about and it sounds dumb but make sure that HDR is turned on in your windows settings, perhaps lowering the brightness of HDR would make it flicker less. i use a different monitor now and honestly i cant remember if i fixed that issue but i dont think i did.

    Good review but the pixels per inch doesn’t affect me as much as he says I play valorant all the time and I love it. And the ppi doesn’t affect me one bit while I’m in higher rank lobbies.

    Low pixels vs resolution that you complain about (valid) should easily be able to be sorted by DSR, assuming the game robustly supports it! For me, its about actually seeing and noticing pixels though, that annoys me, returned 2 screens so far due to that. But you'll get the fully picture you want by DSR or scaling in game.

  • @MSteamCSM

    lol i bought it because of low dpi, so all elements that cannot be zoomed in would be bigger. I had 34 inch ultrawide before, and wanted all of the same, except bigger
    Also i have no idea how you can use in on 100% brightness - its so bright that it burns my eyes! I had to set it to 25%

    Between this lg and samsung g9 oled which you think is better? Thanks

    • @The_Donn
      @The_Donn  11 місяців тому +3

      Thats going to be one of the best questions as well as the most difficult one in these comments. To be fair i havent gotten my hands on the samsung G9 so my opinion may not be the most reasonable. The curve on the Samsung is just a little bit more aggressive, meaning just a little bit more curved (1000R vs 800R) as well as the screen itself is a bit wider at 49" rather than 45". Also this year Samsung went with 5120 x 1440 as opposed to LGs 3440 x 1440 so the text clairty is going to a bit better on the Samsung. The LG OLED technology provides more accurate colors (not as big of a difference than it used to be) but as with any Samsung they can get brighter than LG OLEDs so youll have to take into condsideration the enviornment that youre playing in. I think the biggest thing that influences my desicion the is Samsung notoriously terrible customer service. Even with all the little extras that the G9 has over the LG i personally am still staying far away from Samsung. Maybe you could just call me an LG fanboy lol. With that being said youre definitely going to have to watch a side by side comparison for a better opinion because on paper Samsung is really showing out this year!
      TLDR: i like LG better than Samsung
