My ol 'CB750 ,she was a beast!! I could get 90mph in 2nd gear & not be redlined. Fellas y'all need them 4carbs installed and set . That'd open a whole new power plant I'm almost positive. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on ur project in no way! Just tryna help get optimal performance out of it! To be honest I'm tired of seeing them dam raptors pull in front of you when runnin them. That cart should F'ing smoke'em. I'm confident in time it'll happen. You can do it😎👍🏼..
This is C and C man! This just ain't no B for Build! This is normal guys shit here, yea! You know the ones that don't think they gotta have all that fake feminine testosterone going on
Desmo time on that Ducati! A clutch rebuild and the desmo service will have that engine back up to its 85hp glory lol. Cover the clutch this time tho... As for the cross cart, the thing absolutely looks like it's a blast. I do really wish it was hooking up with all of its ponies, but it's still doing alright for itself. Can you spare it some grease? Sounds like it's trying to make babies.
The cross kart would working amazingly well on some ATV tires. I am sure that John and Ike could fabricate up some hubs that would work with the current suspension set up.
Since John especially seems to struggle with the left hand shifter for the cross cart and instead of paddle shifters, why not a left paddle clutch and a left foot shifter so it’s very similar to a motorcycle. Just a thought! Love the videos! Hopefully not RIP for the Miata!
Merry Christmas guys enjoy the holidays and thanks for a bunch of awesome videos over the past year it's been a blast following you. Much love from New Zealand
Guys move the shifter forward on the cross cart it might help with the weird cross over shifting john is doing, as well as making it easier to shift. I love them both, they are sick, but I would defo have the cross cart such a cool set up
4 роки тому+3
Or john could just shift with his left hand like a real jdm bro
So sorry to hear about your accident John. Same thing happened to me, rear-ended by a texting driver in a SUV. Totaled my TDI Beetle which I had just put $3500 worth of parts and upgrades into. It was a long fight with the at-fault insurance company as well and I ended up buying the car back with the intention of fixing it. Good luck I hope everything goes ok with the Miata, and glad nobody was hurt.
throw some sand paddles on the rear of the cross kart and she'll hook on the drag race, but she looks like a total blast to run, also you might look into a VW "cylinder head temp" gauge from someone like Napa or advanced auto parts, someone local to you like that, since VW engines are oil/air cooled it might work for you to help keep an eye on the engine temps, also, glad you are okay and nobody was hurt in the accident with the distracted driver, happy holidays to you and Ike and your families and looking forward to more shenanigans in 2020
That cross cart is exactly that. I absolutely love it. I know you guys are probably done messing with the exhaust, but if you ever have the itch to try something different. Thoes 90° bends are not the best for flow if you can remove one of the 90° bends this should help performance if you ever mess with and go back to the 4 carb setup. Either way awesome video🤙🤙
j- sorry to hear about your crash bro, i got t-boned back in june, totaled my rare mk2 jetta pirelli coupe and landed me in the hospital, im still recovering. so its good to see you up and going. the karts look great, im so impressed with how the cross kart handles the rough terrain, you guys really did hit a sweet spot on that chassis layout. i hope to see the ducarti back soon, but i do really wanna see that motor get some love before that happens. hope you and ike have a happy holiday!
On the cross cart you guys should make a few grease fittings for the suspension, she sounds extra creaky. Also glad everyone is ok, an auto body is a lot easier to fix than having recurring neck issues or worse so that's a blessing I'd say. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
who else wants to see a top speed on the cross cart?? if you are planning on a video of that soon, how about a before and after with 2 carbs. then a 4 carb. top speed
Great video!! Again I STRONGLY suggest you get BLUETOOTH in your melon covers so you and us the viewers could hear you two communicate back and forth in REAL RACE TIME...
Well I can feel it, but I don't know if you can that it's pretty close to the time to put away the lawnmower engine toys of your youth and move on into the cross kart world where burned out toy clutches, solid suspension and governor removals are a thing of the past. If you look outside the box and embrace the challenge of marrying 1,000-1,200CC water cooled bike engines to your favorite class of on and off road designed frames you will satisfy your need for speed and excitement. Guaranteed you will add a huge new UA-cam following to your channel. Love to see you build a rig for the Baja challenge in a car/truck design that you created with support from those big money sponsors. I sorta think this is the direction you were meant to follow. Even at my age I've gotten excited and bought a 2015 Honda CBR650f engine off Ebay that's being mounted to an ATV frame. Why, because these engines are relatively inexpensive and make for crazy fun and an interesting build.....
Sorry, but hyper powerful bike engine builds are not nearly as entertaining to watch as they are very hard for most of us hack/backyard mechanics to relate to. and when you compare how much money goes in vs. how much fun you get, simple kart/minibike builds are virtually unbeatable. Not to mention the lower speeds are safer. And you won't kick yourself for months because you wrecked your 200 HP/ $15K project. High tech/power builds are cool, but it just isn't Carsandcameras' style.
hey john... I am very sorry for you, because the Miata... I know how bad such things hurt. I hope you and the Miata get well soon:-) Otherwise just try a S2000.... ;-) because it's honda maaaan .... The cross kart’s reliability is impressive. Looks like it could use some more aggressive treads in the rear and maybe a rounder profile in the front like a quad’s tire. The Ducarti’s acceleration though.........😳
The shifter is set too far back so his elbow hits the firewall. All it would take to fix is shorten the shifter or put a bend in the shaft to move it forward. They kinda dumb.
Merry Christmas guys have a great Christmas and a very Happy New Years. Wish the Ducati lasted longer but with the love you have planed it might even have more power after the upgrades.
The Ducati engine is designed for a 2 into 1 exhaust set up and is pretty sensitive to header length and the such for absolute performance. Maybe they can fit a proper exhaust system on it after they do the desmo service. The Crosskart is doing better with its exhaust, but it's not the best of designs. I guess it boils down to are they having fun as the bottom line. It should be about fun. I've seen them go from very basic bolting a random engine onto a race kart frame and racing each other around the yard, to all of this madness lol. I'm sure down the road that while it might not be these builds, there will be very performance driven builds. It's all about growth.
See that's the problem these engines are from the 80s and they're built a specific way if you want to upgrade your shit buy a crashed sport bikes those guys don't know how to ride them and so they readily available
@@riorica1 IIRC, the engine came out of a 900 monster. Same engine and setup as the supersport, except for the tuning. And that beautiful Italian desmo exhausts each cylinder into its own can, without crossovers, so Ike and John can easily find exhaust options, for those who mentioned it.

The raptor is also running 4wd with all that power, so far less wheel spin and overall better grip on that terrain. On street, the ducarti and cross cart would probably match it or be better. That 4 wheeler is built for that condition, the gokarts arent.
Glad to see/hear that you are alright John, you could always replace the Miata. Heck someone might just give you one😉 That Ducarti is a Monster. My Fav for sure

Grease fittings on the control arms. The cross kart was quite squeaky. Merry Christmas and someone may of already mentioned about greasing the suspension I just didn't want to comb through the 400 an something comments.

Really, that is an insane combo. The real genius was in picking that powerplant. They are finicky as we’ve learned. I want to try pods on honda sohc also but everyone kept telling me not to. Really I only want to use them because the airbox is so impossible to take off inside the frame. Yours is definitely tearing it up but I do think it’s running a little rough still. Borrow a synchronizing tool or you can make one. Getting them synchronized is just a whole other level of rip
I think you guys need some off-road tires that have treads with more bite. What you have is good for combined pavement/dirt and for getting sideways on the dirt, but if you really want it to hook-up, you need something more aggressive.
I know some carb balancing tricks and also have a kawasaki kz650 . Which can have 750 jugs bolted on from kz or GPz 750 so u guys could have 2 big karts. . And get some foam air filters for the carbs. And oil them to keep the sand out. The breaking up at WOT is fuel starvation. Needs bigger main jets. Or fuel pump. My kz uses a makuni vaccum powered fuel pump. They are simple enough to install. You guys have fun and be safeish.
Everybody here says do this swap that, however here is the thing...i bet that cross cart weighs at least 700lbs without driver. It looks heavy. Sure swap engines and even out power/weight on each but what fun is that slowing one project down? Thats going backwards! Always look forward and how to go quicker and faster. Frankly that 750 is not very modifyable and quite dated. Finances aside, a later model liquid cooled sport bike engine of some sort with double the hp/tq of existing powerplant is what its gonna take to even these two machines out and achieve the results everyone is hoping for. Other than a sport bike motor it wouldnt hurt my feelings to see a modded Arctic Cat 1000 triple 2 smoke good for say 240hp. They are plentiful and relatively cheap. Thats my vote.
Hey guys I would love to see you beef up the axle in the drag rail and put the Ducarti on it and take it to Galot dragstrip. That would be awesome. Love your channel keep up the great job and congratulations to John for buying a new home and once you get the Miata fixed she will as good as new. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I don't think it could take it. If it had more traction, something would break....
You two have a great holiday season for you and your families!
Just wanted to say keep making great videos Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Hey guys I would love to see you beef up the axle in the drag rail and put the Ducarti on it and take it to Galot dragstrip. That would be awesome. Love your channel keep up the great job and congratulations to John for buying a new home and once you get the Miata fixed she will as good as new. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I can't wait for the next mini mayhem
John! and Isaac Merry Christmas. Love all the videos you guys are putting up here. It's because of you, my golf cart is going to get a Liquid cooled 440cc Kawasaki Upgrade....lol...THANK YOU!!!

What would be awesome is to see the cross cart with paddle tires! The Ducati needs a little work!
''it probably rejuvenated my skin"..lol
That Ducati motor would be insane in the honda powered kart you dudes rock
