'99 Civic LX Daily Project Part 1: Getting to know and fixing the "major" issues

A three part series on my 1999 Honda Civic LX. In this video we take a look at the Civic and fix the most obvious problems in order to pass smog and use it as a daily driver. At the end we go for a test drive in the twisties somewhere near Carmel Valley, CA.

I have a 98 LX I'm trying to de-rice. I think all it needs is a brake booster or a brake booster hose and it will run fine. RockAuto has new fenders for $25and headlights for cheap. So I should be able to make it nice daily driver out of it.

Lol I just got one last night same color and everything. Seems like the hood latch breaks on every one. My step dad has a 95 dx and his broke off when he first got it like 5/6 years ago. He replaced his but had to take the fender off. And then mine someone just tied a sting to it

I just kept a pair of pliers in the door to pull mine.

odd i have a 2000 honda civic lx my latch is still there but to once i open it it sticks so i have to push it hard back in to close the hood hey but il hope it never breaks

I picked up a 98 Civic DX. Same issue with the hood latch. I found a repair kit on Amazon for just the handle. Seems to be holding up pretty well for a chunk of metal with some tiny set screws lol.

I would love to be able to get you to hit the twisties where I come from. Old Stringtown Road I'll give you the biggest rush of your lifetime. Deer is the only problem. And some areas it seems like the laws of reality doesn't exist.
