Great video. Have this sitting around and haven't used it in 15 years but need it now moving kids to college. Glad I looked at it ahead of time because that foam you weren't kidding had just turned to dust and left a huge sticky mess with that tape backing. I used Acetone to remove it all around, was a real workout but with a few rags and good elbow grease got it all off in about two hours. Going to pick up the pipe insulation suggested but at lowes it's made by Frost King, same thickness and length and width. After that it's almost new again.

Wow. What a dumb roundabout way to have to check your fluid level. A dipstick? Nah.... I've only owned one car for the last ten years, 1999 corolla. Burns a lot of oil these days. Aunt and uncle gifted me their 2013 sonic with about 106k miles on it. They did all the scheduled maintenance at the dealer, so hoping this was done recently enough I have a while.

So I just found this video. I have a 2015 sonic yesterday Jan 27 was the second time to change the trans fluid for me. What a pain! I changed it blind the first time. I found nothing in way of the procedure 4 years ago. A certified GM mechanic friend stepped me through what he knew but he had never done a trans fluid change in a sonic and neither had any of the techs at the chevy dealership where he worked. Service data was worthless! Thanks GM! I must say you did a great job on this video and you cussed as much as i did. GM is still slim on the procedure details today. Thanks for posting
