@papyrusspaghetti9376 I found scrap mechanic unintuative. With SE if you need something to drive, you build a frame and add wheels and power. Scrap mechanic you have to build the rotation for the wheel and steering and link it etc. Then you gotta tie the motor in along with the seat. It's not as simple as se. I have been playing Space Engineers for 6 years now. I started while it was still in beta or well early access. I remember the days of the large grid drop ship and when we had uranium on the planets. Those days were the days when Klang would come without knowing and destroy your creation you just worked on for the last hour. That's right one wrong move and BOOM! Klang would destroy hours of work. They have very similar themes, but they're very different games. While they both have building mechanics, Space Engineers requires you to build everything yourself. Not just your base, but your ships of any size, from fighters to super carriers. NMS's physics are more arcadey and forgiving, where SE is more detailed and punishing of mistakes. NMS has way more content for you to discover, but SE's free form nature gives you near-limitless options to make your own content.
I'm sorry that you felt misled. This video explains what the game is and the value that you get from the money that you spend, allowing you to make the decision of whether or not it's worth it for yourself. I give my opinion on whether or not the game is worth it later in the video.
It has similar elements, sure. There's not much in the way of PvE combat in the base game, but if you're on PC, the modding community is amazing, and you can use them to add the PvE challenge you're looking for.
I would say it is NOT worth it due to keen's development practices being... less than ideal maybe if they make Space Engineers 2 without the DLC policy (whoever says its fine because its solely cosmetic ... i am sorry for you as the dlc cost more than the development and keen does not deserve the money after they bought a mansion instead of the money going to development)
I dunno, man. Marek bought The Oranžérie, not Keen. Sure, they're not exactly the best at fixing bugs, but people adore the game either way, and the cost of the DLC is cheaper than other games that have regular cosmetic releases.
I still play it ever-now-and-then, the game is worth it if you like to spend time building and mining. Other than that it's bland. The game misses some key elements that i would love to have in the game to keep me engaged more. I want more missions/campaigns en more enemies. They have wolves and spiders in the game but that's it. Once you are done with building your base and gathering resources there isn't much to do anymore. The planets are huge but empty, sometimes you engage in hostile drones or an enemy base. But that's it. Nothing else. The developers are wasting WAYYY too much time on these stupid decorative packs that add absolutely NOTHING to the game.
I understand the sentiment behind feeling that the DLCs are taking away from the game, it can be very frustrating. Keep in mind that artists and programmers do separate things, so decorative DLC doesn't take time away from the work of developing features.
The game plays almost exactly the same on all three platforms. I note the appropriate differences between Xbox and PC in the video, and I've done another video that highlights the release of the PlayStation version, found here: ua-cam.com/video/nOtWEKUta6g/v-deo.html
i don't recommend this game to anyone mainly because of janky controls and complete and total lack of a tutorial and no the scenario first jump doesn't count as a tutorial cus of previously mentioned janky controls.
I'm sorry the controls didn't work out for you. On PC, they're fine for me, they can be hard to get used to on console, but I spent a few hours tonight playing Space Engineers on PlayStation 4 Pro on stream, and it went super well. I still frubbed on the controls, but it started flowing. It's just a matter of practice!

Keep in mind that artists and programmers do separate things, so decorative DLC doesn't take time away from the work of developing features.

so no actual review on the consoles...
The game plays almost exactly the same on all three platforms. I note the appropriate differences between Xbox and PC in the video, and I've done another video that highlights the release of the PlayStation version, found here: ua-cam.com/video/nOtWEKUta6g/v-deo.html

Дякую!
i don't recommend this game to anyone mainly because of janky controls and complete and total lack of a tutorial and no the scenario first jump doesn't count as a tutorial cus of previously mentioned janky controls.
@@GleebTorin oh and I forgot the fact that it crashed multiple times on startup
NOT worth it too much bugs
All games have bugs, at the features in this game and the awesomeness it has outweights the bugs.
Not true at all! The issues you are having are probably due to your mistakes!
@@mCoNNoR84 Bang on, been playing for 400hours and the only issues were outdated mods (some are ancient) or my oversight on a project causing destruction. Game itself is solid.
