Yep trial and error. I've painted enough masks to know that the more you screw up, go back, erase and redo the better and better each mask starts to look. Liked and subbed. Awesome work.
Honestly, I always disliked the skintone look. I know its "accurate" but its much more accurate to the 2nd movie than it is the 1st one (due to the mask being "left in a shoebox under a smoker's bed"). If anything, I'd rather keep it subtle, like a slight hint at the very bottom, but other than that its just not my preference
Actually the skin tone and dark areas of the mask from 1978 were unintentional, they used spray cans to paint over the latex and it wouldn't Bond it kept coming off so some areas you can see a skin tone color and also those dark areas were dirt do to the paint never completely drying so it got stained so they went with it
I’m just gonna be completely honest here and say WOW you done incredible on this one , and I want to thank you for explaining in detail each step taken . You are very talented and I would love to send you a mask to rehaul for me . Thanks for sharing your beautiful work with us and I look forward to the next one .. Happy Halloween
sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know a method to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost the account password. I would love any help you can offer me!
@Justus Jaziel I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and Im trying it out now. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Thanks for the great video. Your rehaul looks great! I look forward to trying some of these techniques. My biggest struggle right now is getting comfortable with using an airbrush. Its been a bit of a struggle so far lol.
Thank you so much, I have finally finished doing the mask, kind of went for a more grimier look instead of the clean version but it looks amazing! Great tutorial
Great job! Nice through detail for those who want to take a stab (🤭) at trying to do a rehaul for themselves. I know that hairstyle isn't an easy one to get right but practice makes perfect. I would say to really help with that is to not use the existing hair. While on some TOTS masks the hair is fairly decent but many of them they unmanageable being either too stiff or falls out easy.
Suberb, just done the same, I had to tidy neck line on mine I did find bringing hair forward left a gap, so used the lower back of hair, it’s long rear haired.anway Best wishes and top work
I can’t wait to order the 78 tots mask Also, that stand up mannequin thing….. need to stand him up straight so it looks like he’s not quite puffing his chest out. Michael doesn’t slouch lol
What brand of tacky glue did you use to reglue the hair? And is there a good source for replacement hair? My mask has an area around on the back that needs hair as they left a big gap missing.
keep in mind its 'screen accurate' but its not prop accurate. The closest thing is actually a TOTS Boogeyman. The Boogeyman sculpt is a retool of the Nightowl Psycho which is derived from a Captain Kirk mold. It is a little bigger than the mask from 1978 because it was a kids mask but its accurate
hello awesome job so couple questions… u add same amount of liquid latex as you did of paint and water? and does any liquid latex work or has to be a certain kind? last when at first you wipe down with lacquer thinner i noticed some come in orange label and another in brown does it matter since both say lacquer thinner?
i am going to do this on my 78 Tots mask too because it looks amazing and your tutorial was actually helpful since you listed the things needed. I was wondering tho, do you have any advice for any mask type thingy that would make the eyes fully black?
I wonder why tots uses gloss white on these masks . If they sold them flat white all they would need is a wash and dry brushing without stripping off their paint. I use grey and white car primer spraypaint and it works well for anyone that don't have an airbrush. I spray the flat primer grey up from bottom up to get the shadows and then spray flat white from top down to paint the mask. Then I apply the flesh tone with a dry brushing on the neck ear and nose.
I feel like your personal head shape also contributes a lot to the mask. If you have a wider head it’s gonna probably make the mask look funny, but if you have a smaller narrower head like what Nick Castle had in the 78’ film the mask fits perfectly.
Amazing video! Subscribed! Can you please tell me what mannequin head did you use to give that mask such a perfect shape?! Can you give me a link? Can I buy the exact same from Amazon? The mannequin head that I use does not give your perfect shape
I feel like the way the Michael myers masks “look” honestly differ by what people see themselves. I mean the original was completely white in 1978 and in Halloween 2 they added the skin tone underneath the jaw around the neck very light though
Ive never seen a better rehaul ever. It's just perfect, the mask is 100% movie accurate.
Yep trial and error. I've painted enough masks to know that the more you screw up, go back, erase and redo the better and better each mask starts to look. Liked and subbed. Awesome work.
Great job!
I wish I had the patience and skills to do this with mine!
My tots 18 mask arrived yesterday. Been stalking around the house listening to Michael kills again on my phone
I love this look and wish I had the guts to try it on mine.
This is a great help. I’m ordering an H4 mask and I’m going to try some of these steps. Especially with the hair. Thank you.
Hold a Halloween 4 mask? Nah don't make it look like part 1 or 2, keep it as part 4.
Looks just like Mikey! Most people get a little over zealous with the shading and make it look like he's wearing lipstick. This was just right.

@@krowkid26 that whole statement looks like a correction to something I've never even said. Are you sure you replied to the right comment dude?
@@krowkid26 also, I was aware of the spray paint. more specifically it was "Fishbelly White", which is a color I have tried and failed to find

hey Amanda, thank you so much for this tutorial. Super helpful and nicely explained, and my mask looks so much better now!
Great job, Amanda! I love re-hauling this sculpt. I'm working on my 3rd one.
Best rehaul I've seen on here

I wish I could overhaul mine. Just don’t have the confidence, but yours is awesome, great job!!!!
Awesome job! That’s some really quality work! You must be proud.
I love this video!! So helpful thank you thank you thank you! Please don’t delete!
Amazing tutorial, I just rehauled mine and it literally looks absolutely amazing!
Great job! Looks so much better! 🎃💀❤️
Great job! I'm frankensteining my own myers mask together and this was super helpful

Beautifully DONE!!!
God bless beautiful work
excellent job!! my son just got this mask.....a lot of people want 300 dollars for a rehaul!
Ma'am you are amazing at your craft, keep up the great work and hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
I remembered when u did that video it was soo amazing same thing how u did your 78 Myers knife again it's so awesome great job on doing these things

Hey Amanda cool rehaul, just started my first attempt at the kills mask, keep up the good work 😊xx
Can I do all these steps without the airbrush ? Can I just use paint brushes?
Looks amazing very nice and more screen accurate I believe to the second but nonetheless beautiful
Great job 👍👍
Thank you 🙏

U actually did that 🤙🏻
Love it Great video
Awesome work!! 👌Thanks for your advice, it helped me with my Myers 😷
Well now I have to do this myself. Difference is night and day
Great job!!! Did you glue the lips shut on your mask
VERY nice work Amanda !
I can’t wait to order the 78 tots mask
Also, that stand up mannequin thing….. need to stand him up straight so it looks like he’s not quite puffing his chest out.
Michael doesn’t slouch lol

That came out looking awsome Amanda , that mask looks legit now , very screen accurate ! Where did you get the hands for your myers prop ?

@@amandafryar thanx for the info .
thank u so much for this this gave me the confidence to do mine
Looks good and great 👍
Could you provide me some weathering tips for some reason when I try and whether one side comes out good and the other doesn’t show anything
Great job. I actually converted mine it looks way better. I had to be care on how far to drop hair line. As it left a small area behind bald.
Is it okay if a little bit of paint does end of getting pulled off when taking off the front hairline?
Amanda is it possible to make the 1978 mask into the 2018 mask if so can you make a video on how to
hello
awesome job
so couple questions…
u add same amount of liquid latex as you did of paint and water? and does any liquid latex work or has to be a certain kind?
last when at first you wipe down with lacquer thinner i noticed some come in orange label and another in brown does it matter since both say lacquer thinner?
if u dont mix the paint with distiled water will the paint crack and chip?
Bad ass!! Great job and thank you for sharing 🤘🎃🤘
Great work!
i am going to do this on my 78 Tots mask too because it looks amazing and your tutorial was actually helpful since you listed the things needed. I was wondering tho, do you have any advice for any mask type thingy that would make the eyes fully black?
Some mesh liner
i just get a spare thing of black fabric and put it over my head before the mask. Gets the job done without doing anything messy
You could always just put black make-up around your eyes too
where did you buy that mannikin from
Also what kind of airbrush do you use
Beautiful Mask!!
Do you have to have an air brush?
Just Wow ! Amazing
Is the stand up just a mannequin? I’ve been trying to build a Michael Myers prop for my movie room. I can’t seem to find anything I like the look of
That looks absolutely fuckn incredible
You're amazing! Do you do commissions?
This was awesome! Thank you for sharing! I subscribed!
Could you do this with paintbrushes or is it better to use an airbrush ive been thinking of getting one but I’m kind of tight on money right now
Thank you! This is the best tutorial right now! I have a Iwata Eclipse. Is the liquid latex easy to clean up in the airbrush?
Good work Spot on
What type of hairspray and hairbrush did you use?
What kind of latex do I need to add to my paint? Regular liquid latex or mask making latex? Clear latex?
Im just about to do this wish me luck lol
How much to do mine like this. Looks just like the original, amazing work!
Wait so do I HAVE to use the same liquid latex you have or can I use a different one?
Should I spray the hair with light water before combing it and styling it?
that looks really great! what is that airbrush you use in this video? I need a better one at the moment!!
I wonder why tots uses gloss white on these masks . If they sold them flat white all they would need is a wash and dry brushing without stripping off their paint. Did you take the glossy look off ? If so with what ?
SPOT ON!!!
Is it possible to do this without an airbrush?
What knife is your Michael meters mannequin holding? Is it a tots one
How did you get the lips that grey colour
what kind of air brush do u need for this project i heard gravity feed isnt good for the latix acyrlic mix is that true or will it due
Where did you get the hands?
What's the ratio for acrylic/water/createx?
I feel like your personal head shape also contributes a lot to the mask. If you have a wider head it’s gonna probably make the mask look funny, but if you have a smaller narrower head like what Nick Castle had in the 78’ film the mask fits perfectly.
Do you charge for rehaul services or strictly just a UA-cam thing?
I would love to repaint my 78 mask but scared of messing up and I don't have a airbrush.
What type of adhesive did you use? For the hairline?
Tacky glue!
Does anyone knows which lacquer thinner is the best? I’m from Argentina and I don’t know which one to buy.
can the createx flexible promoter be substituted with liquid latex?
Where’d you get the standup????
Do you have to rip the hair out? I’m a little iffy about trying to do that. Is there another option?
Really really, great work!
You have my like and suscrption, you are awesome!
Amazing video! Subscribed! Can you please tell me what mannequin head did you use to give that mask such a perfect shape?! Can you give me a link? Can I buy the exact same from Amazon? The mannequin head that I use does not give your perfect shape
How much of the Createx did you use?
Love it!
this is great amanda, do you think you will attempt a 2018 mask rehaul in the future?
It’s definitely possible! It’s a bit more challenging mask to rehaul. But you never know!🎃
How do I contact you for a rehaul ?
Where did you get the mannequin
Would love to send mine in and get it done
Thanks. 2020 needed this.
Is it okay if I paint with a brush and skip the flesh tone?
How long did it take to put the hair back on ?
Do you sell masks that are rehauled ?
