Rosie, when I was that age, I *couldn't* study in silence. I *had to* have some kind of noise that I controlled in order to concentrate. It has to do more with being able to control it than with the decibels. If there were even quiet little noises, like this place here ⬆, and I didn't know what it was, I was jolted out of a flow state and needed several minutes to calm down. I have an exaggerated startle reflex due to trauma. My teachers just thot I was ditzy or lazy and punished me. I'm still this way now, in my 50's, only more so. This is why noise-cancelling headphones and earbuds are a godsend. If the library had some noise-cancelling headphones at desks, or white-noise machines, this might actually help some people.
Uh I'm sorta a teen and I like studying actually? Like writing down notes and stuff, and my friends only make noises because they are teaching each other things, but most adults think that we're being noisy on purpose and give up disapproving looks :/ Geez
@@cass8446 Haha, yeah, as if group study should be totally silent, as if you were mimes. I mean, how the heck can you mime math stuff? LOL! X-D Literature is another thing altogether. If you were to mime a story, it would simply turn into a game of charades, and everyone would end up laughing, making more noise than if you were talking in low voices. And believe it or not, I'm 40. Some of my fellow adults seem to have sticks up their rears. Ironically, many of the teens that frequent my local library actually do crack open the books and are quieter than some of the adults that come in. *rolls eyes* Some adults don't know the meaning of "take phone calls outside!" or "use earbuds/headphones when on your electronic devices."
Cass Dude chill. Just because you’re a special little snowflake doesn’t mean that it’s not true that most teenagers don’t like studying. Most teens are noisy and immature and that’s how life is because they are still growing and it’s okay.

I usually visit coffee shops for working on my projects, but today wanted to visit a nice library; this feels so cosy and mysterious at the same time, such a good place for focusing.
I have been successfully writing all of my college papers with this library sound for two years now. Thank you so much for helping me concentrate! Kindest Regards from Germany ♥️
This looks and sounds incredible on my television and sound system! The tiny details of rain on glass and flickering candles and dancing shadows is impeccable! I'm drawn into trance as I study this afternoon. Cheers!
My exams start next week for this semester. Usually I study while listening to relaxing music but since I can't listen to music in my exams I need an atmosphere and sound that are more realistic. This video helps a lot and actually motivates me to do more. Thank you for the upload!! To anyone reading the comments instead of studying or working: Go back to your studies and come back once you are finished or have a break :)
I'm Autistic and have ADHD. This is one of the only tracks that I can actually do any work to. I'm very sensitive to sounds or melodies of any kind, but require background noise to concentrate. Something about the rain and the fire crackle, along with the soft turning of pages and pen writing... Absolutely brilliant - thank you so much!

The fact that there is nobody on every background image in your videos, is somehow super relaxing to me. It almost feels like you know people are here, but they don't obliterate you whatsoever; amazing channel keep up the good work;
Obliterate??? The choice of words XD Tell me that your situation isn't as you make it out to be! But in all seriousness, That sense of personal times while also retaining the comfort of presence is quite something, i'm glad for that particlar detail
Hey there fellow studier, author, insomniac, youtube recommendationed person, have a great day, but get back to work, I know you can do this!! (I'm here trying to fix my plot and write a book, what ya'll doing here?)
As I'm currently battling with my masters' thesis (applied maths) it could be said that I came to this library to solve a _new_ mystery... it's encouraging to see it that way :)
this helps me concentrate on work so much! music is too distracting and during the quarantine, I realized that other people working around me is what helps me stay productive. And here I can clearly hear and imagine people researching and writing industriously. I just can't slack off while they are working with such concentration and vigor. So thanks everyone at this library, you inspire me to focus and get things done
For the people saying this library is noisy....... I worked in a library, and it was definitely noisier than this! That said this channel is perfection and every time a new video comes out it's like Christmas.
The basement of my old Uni library was peaceful with the hum of the ventilation, the lack of people and the stacks absorbing stray sounds. My local public library, on the other hand, is like sticking your head in a box of angry chihuahuas.
I'm not in formal education, I am currently out of work, and am suffering from a multitude of chronic issues. I have no meaning, I'd be better off dead, I receive no support, and am rotting away inside a dire council flat where I live alone. Reading the library books that took courage to go and pick up to borrow, I sit here, this morning with a cup of coffee, pretending that I am a successful academic, living a luxurious life, and thanks to uploads like yours, it's that little bit easier. Thank you.
I hope at least a couple of those things have improved for you over the year since you wrote this comment. I know it probably doesn't feel like it, but none of the problems you mentioned are or need to be permanent states (although the chronic issues may hang around, depending on what they are), so the odds that things will look up are extremely good. It's also pretty definite that you do have meaning, and you just haven't managed to see it yet. Please do keep your eyes open. Incidentally, if you're up to it and feel the need to get out of your flat, libraries always seem to be looking for volunteers, and it's usually for jobs like cleaning or reshelving books, where you wouldn't need to talk to visitors. You might hear of a job opening or make a new friend that way, and at the very least, it would be something to do.
I'm an eleven years old girl, and tomorrow I come back to school after a while. I have anxiety and insomnia, but this video is really helping me. Thank you
That picture brings so much nostalgic... Imagine you close your eyes for ten seconds and shortly you start hearing rain sounds and you open your eyes. You are outside in a forest where it's not sunny or dark just the rain, weak wind and the clouds are pure greyish white, you wandere around try to find people but there is no one near you. You're walking a path that sort of leads somewhere, after several minutes that felt like hours you found a very tall building that looks like a magic library you walk in and feel more warm, there is no one there and all you hear is raining. You choose to close the door and hear how the water drops on the windows, you walk upstairs and see this. You feel so amazed how this happened and you start exploring the place, on the top floor there is a roof that has a cealingdoor, you open it and the rain pours on you heavily but you climb through it and see the view. It's only trees in there, you are in middle of no where and start to feel uncomfortable, you want to get out of there and you think "Is this a freaking dream?!" You slap your face multiple times but no, it' not a dream. You start to give up and get on your knees. You look up in the beautiful grey sky where rain is pouring your face, you are wet and get back in the library, you go back down and look out of the window thinking "How did I even get here?" You get a random book and the name is magic for beginners, you search through pages and pages trying to find a some sort of thing that will get you out of there. You searched for hours and hours but no, there is no hope you feel so sad and it feels like hours have been passed but the light hasn't changed a bit, you go on the roof slowly and say "This is it, everyone has died or something, I can't stand this loneliness. I will jump down and get out of here." You jumped and closed your eyes, you don't feel any pain or blackout, you open your eyes slowly and wake up on a warm saturday morning where the sunlight breezes through the curtains straight in your eyes.
As someone with ADHD and raw dogging nursing school with no medications, this has worked as a "body doubling" tool and I can focus for the whole 2 hours! Good luck to everyone listening to this and studying, you can do this!

Very peaceful. Falling asleep to this on a cold winter night.....blessings to all as we enter another world, another realm, all our own, through this mediative bliss.
When I was a kid, the whole family would go to local libraries to find information for my sister's Illinois history projects. I can remember going into corners of basements and it was so quiet the silence literally had almost the seashell-to-the-ear effect. I tried regaining the same experience in my late 20s but the libraries have become almost coffee houses and people go there to almost just hangout. There is no enforced quiet rule anymore it seems.
One of these days, if I ever get rich enough, I'm gonna build a house with rooms designed like the ones in these thumbnails. Hey, a knight can dream, alright?
Did you have evidence of anything like photos, knowledge, or books you collected that can prove how passionate you are about your subject, anyway? If so, you dont even need to say. Because it becomes obvious when it's true.
The library smelled like old paper and books with a hint of fire ash. It was raining outside and as I ran in, I was pleasantly surprised by the warmth of the fire. The windows were dark and the only sounds I could hear was the wet rain and the crackling fire. "Mrs.Brown?" I shouted. Mrs.Brown was the librarian who worked here but there was no response. "Mrs.Brown" I repeated but again, no response. I brushed it off and thought perhaps she was somewhere in the back. I sat in one of the large wooden chairs with a soft velvet cushion I felt myself slowly relax against the comfort the chair provided me. I took out my book and began to read when I suddenly heard a noise. I ignored it at first but then I heard it again. I stood up and looked around. The glass doors of the library provided a clear view of outside where there were no cars and just loud, heavy, rain. Then I heard the noise again. It was like a scratch against wood, Like someone trying to pry something open. My heart began to beat faster now but I couldn't tell where the noise was coming from. Several minutes passed till the noise came again. It was clear now, like the sound of pounding on wood. The rain had gotten so quiet that it was just a gentle sound in the back of my many thoughts. I walked toward one of the tall book cases and with all the strength I had..... I pushed it. The noise was louder now and I knew I had gotten closer. I knelt down onto my knees and examined the wall behind the book case. Thats when I saw it A small door. WOW THANKS SM FOR ALL THE SUPPORT! HERES A SMALL SECOND PART ♥️ What would you do if you found a way to escape this dimension. I know it's a stupid question. One I never thought I would have to answer until I found myself staring at small door that only a toddler could pass through. The rain was still coming down and I could hear the sound of each small droplet as they pinged against the library walls. This place was almost like a second home to me. I knew every coroner, twist and turn and even where certain books were kept on the shelves. I came here nearly every day after school and Mrs.Brown would always smile at me. But I had never seen this before. The small door seemed to be the color of dark wood with a shiny golden knob. On the wooden door there also appeared to be the engraving of some planet. Whoever had engraved the planet into the wood must have been a talented artist for the planet to have such small and beautiful details. Suddenly a sound ripped me away from my thoughts on the door. The sound that had started it all. From behind the door I could hear what seemed to be finger nails scratching and pounding against the wood. It had gradually gotten a bit louder but I still had to somewhat strain my ears to listen. Whatever was behind that door was trying desperately to get out. Perhaps it's just an animal. Some sane part in my head was thinking up of a million different normal reasons why there was an odd door in a library. Maybe Mrs.Brown stores books back there. Perhaps it's a play room for little kids. What if a cat just wandered in on accident. What if the reason wasn't normal at all? I couldn't deny that a small part of me hoped the reason was nothing ordinary. My whole felt completely normal and ordinary. Maybe that's why I like books so much, they tell stories of lives that are interesting and full of mystery and magic. The most mystery I had in my life was what I would eat for dinner. If this was a book what would the main character do? I slowly took in a deep breath and extended my hand to the knob. I was still lent on the floor sitting like a small child during story hour. I turned the golden knob which was surprisingly cold and opened the door. Do you remember what I asked you in the beginning? The question nobody would ever need the answer to. What would you do if you found a way to escape this dimension? I need the answer now.
I love to hide away in libraries, whether for intellectual purposes such as studying , to come up with new art ideas, or to read a book that caught my eye. I would totally study or read or create in this space: it's the perfect setting. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I was studying for my exam, and I was slowly drifting off listening to this 😅 it was so peaceful, too peaceful to the point where it kind of ended up becoming ASMR for me with every page turn and crackle of the fire. I wish I could jump through my screen and sleep in that space. It would be a dream come true to be in such peaceful silence like this.
Just stunning. Absolutely stunning work here. The aesthetics are perfect and the audio is fantastic. Really takes me right into the scene and makes me want to grab an old leather-bound book about alchemy or ancient architecture.

Just perfect to write my book! It helps me relax and focus on the story, especially when I haven't a proper ambience to write in. Thank you so much to post!
I listen to this in a loop while I work. This is the perfect background noise, not distracting, not overpowering, just ideal to cover complete silence (which is distracting).
while listening to this I studied and I wrote some poems! I wanted to share one I wrote! Moonlight by Ophelia As the moonlight touches my pale skin I feel like I can truly breathe The shimmering beams of light reflected in my eyes and touched my soul For once I felt whole again But as the sun rose I felt time go forward once more. The most beautiful moments in life sometimes stop suddenly
I am so thankful for this. It is finals week, and my obnoxious roommate doesn't find it rude to play her videos out loud while we are both trying to study. headphones and this video is whats keeping me sane.

this is literally the only thing that can calm me down enough to focus, it's crazy. Coming from someone with anxiety, I really like this.
Do you mean you "get anxious", or do you actually have medically diagnosed anxiety?

literally same like I can actually focus better w this playing 💓😢
@@sophiemorel1446 Go easy on 'em; I'm seeing a request for clarification, not a demand for proof. Maybe Loud House has medically diagnosed anxiety and wants to know if this actually works on something that hardcore. It's getting pretty common, unfortunately. You've done more than provide ambient sound - you have built an environment that minds can inhabit to learn. Thank you.
I’m a librarian and I wish my library was as quiet as this but....teenagers don’t like studying silently apparently 😂😂 this is amazing thank you
I'm happy to hear that teenagers are enjoying the library albeit a bit noisy!

For the people saying this library is noisy....... I worked in a library, and it was definitely noisier than this!
That said this channel is perfection and every time a new video comes out it's like Christmas.
Honestly, I don't think I've ever been in a quite library.
The basement of my old Uni library was peaceful with the hum of the ventilation, the lack of people and the stacks absorbing stray sounds. My local public library, on the other hand, is like sticking your head in a box of angry chihuahuas.
Our libraries are always quiet nobody is interested in such a place here
I'm not in formal education, I am currently out of work, and am suffering from a multitude of chronic issues.
Thank you.
It’s so sad to hear that
I hope at least a couple of those things have improved for you over the year since you wrote this comment.
You might hear of a job opening or make a new friend that way, and at the very least, it would be something to do.
i hope you're doing much better now. things will improve! x

I will jump down and get out of here."
You jumped and closed your eyes, you don't feel any pain or blackout, you open your eyes slowly and wake up on a warm saturday morning where the sunlight breezes through the curtains straight in your eyes.

I think this is what a University library is like
Very peaceful.
This seriously helps me stay focused while writing college essays. A Godsend.

Did you have evidence of anything like photos, knowledge, or books you collected that can prove how passionate you are about your subject, anyway? If so, you dont even need to say. Because it becomes obvious when it's true.
It would be my dream to find a library just like this. I'd never leave. Sublime.
Thats when I saw it
A small door.
WOW THANKS SM FOR ALL THE SUPPORT! HERES A SMALL SECOND PART ♥️
What would you do if you found a way to escape this dimension.
