General with 300 kills? That’s romance mode for you. I personally love that they made two modes, because it just adds more replay ability since I like both styles

Sure, too bad historical mod is actually not realistic either. It only changes the general unit, and not in a fun way because the game has simply not been made to be played in realistic mod, they focused every aspects on the romance one.
Not saying the game is bad thought, but let's be honest : the realistic mod could have been much better.
In Warhammer 2 this is an everyday occurrence and its amazing.

The history of Europe is battle royale too. You had at least one or several major wars in Europe every century.
@Novel First, the term battle royale is applicable whether the combatants are different countries or different countries that split up from a larger country. The geographic region of Europe was a battle royale for most of history as European nations were constantly at war with each other. Modern Europe as a geographic region and modern China as a geographic region (which is comparable in size to the continent of Europe) were basically both places of battle royale.
Second, modern China as we know it today was not created until relatively late in history. The present borders of China were created by the Qing Dynasty in the 17th century. You had many long periods where that region in East Asia was dominated by many different countries with not only different ethnic groups and languages, but people speaking entirely different language families. The period around when this TW3K game takes place is no different than the classical Roman Empire, which conquered many smaller kingdoms, then split into 3 factions in the Third Century AD, and then the Western Empire split into multiple smaller countries in the 5th century AD as foreign tribes and peoples overran it.

This Romance mode nicely combines the classic historical experience with the more fantastical experience that warhammer brought to total war. it would be pretty cool if you did more of this

Well for one you cant do diplomacy for a long time cause rebels. And also you will have to beat three empires instead of two
the fun thing, this doesn't feel like an empty shell for dlc like certain other games.

Gogureyo didn't recover until decades later, and eventually managed to conquer the commanderies in the Korean pennisula originally set up by the Han Dynasty during the Jin Dynasty (after the Three Kingdoms) during the era of the "Uprising of the Five Barbarians."

I absolutely despised the unit cards of Rome II because their art style made everything look super similar and made it hard to tell what was what. I appreciate the creativity in emulating historic artworks of the time from a purely artistic perspective, but from a gameplay side of things it just made quickly selecting units from the cards and figuring out which unit from your menu was on the battlefield way harder than it needed to be.
That alone is probably at least 30% of the reason why I don't play that game anymore, bundled with the fact that I am in a constant state of scrambling for hard drive space.

Don't watch Oversimplified if this interests you. There are amazing TV adaptations and movies about this period providing countless of hours to enjoy. Diminishing all this quality entertainment with a 17 mins spoiler video is a sin no matter how good it is.
